Ahhh, I'm with you. Thanks for replying! Great idea.

This looks like the one you've got. Just in case anyone else struggles to figure out the video. Although the link is to Amazon UK. It's clearly available on Amazon US (and I imagine other Amazons) too.

Bought this one for my Pixelbook and I've been pretty happy. There's not really much in the way of padding, it's like a blanket wrapped around it, but it does have a loop under the flap that holds the pen perfectly.

I haven't tried it myself, but you might try something like this or even this Microsoft one which looks higher quality.

Besides buying something though, I'd treat it like any other pen. Pocket, backpack, bag/briefcase, or in a notebook/wallet that has space for one.

Ordered a refurbished Logitech T630, and it works pretty good. The back and fourth swipe gestures work, as does the two finger tap for the app drawer. It's a little on the small side, and scrolling is a bit choppy. Overall it'll work until something better comes along.

Sure thing. Though, it wasn't necessarily a correction... tech progresses fast.

And, to address the actual question posed by u/op, you can read (play) a file directly from a USB drive. You'll be able to see it in a file directory just like any other OS, and the native player will play it just fine. I use VLC for a bit more control.

This is the USB drive I have:

People who say you can't get it out without getting to the back side are wrong.

https://www.amazon.com/ARISD-Paintless-Removal-Bridge-Puller/dp/B0784S9KPD/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=dent+puller&qid=1556507490&s=gateway&sr=8-6

This is a system that uses hot glue to grab ahold of the dented part and then slowly pull it back into place. It takes a LOT of massaging and effort to get it looking perfectly flush again, but I've gotten number of small dents out of my stainless steel refrigerator using a similar kit. I wouldn't recommend this for big dents, but for little teeny ones like yours it can definitely work with the right level of effort.

I picked up one if these for $35

Just got it in this weekend, but so far it is working great with my PixelBook. Charging still seems fast and output to monitor is working, along with charging and numerous other hookups.

Definitely return that refurb Pixelbook. It'll be "Geek Squad certified refurbished", which isn't the same thing as "manufacturer refurbished", not worth it IMO.

Best Buy has 10% off Pixelbook via a student deal at the moment, bringing the 128GB down to around $900. Average sale price for that model from Amazon is $940 according to CamelCamelCamel.

Thanks for the suggestion. When you get it I'm curious if you ordered the right size and how well it fits. I ordered this one which fit my Samsung Chromebook Plus perfectly, but it feels a bit too small due to the squared off shape of the Pixelbook, so I'm probably going to return it. It does close, but I'm afraid I'm going to scratch the corner with the zipper.

I'm not necessarily sure I would recommend this one. I've used two and they're both problematic in different ways. I used the Microsoft Surface keyboard and it was pretty good. I continue to use the Microsoft Surface mouse because I like the feel of it. But I have a small desk and wanted a smaller keyboard. I bought an Anker Ultra-compact and it works well. But to connect it, I need to do some extra steps. First, I have to put it into pairing mode, then go into the settings, not just the Bluetooth menu in the quick settings, and tell it to connect. And, when it goes to sleep, I have to go through all that again. It's annoying, but it's a smaller footprint on my desk and works well when I'm typing a lot because it stays on.

I have a Dell S2817Q monitor and this USB-C dongle. It's 30 Hz and displaying at 3840 x 2160. The only thing I had to adjust was the display size, to make items on screen larger as they were super tiny when I first connected.

I have been using this for over a year with my macbook and it works just as well with my pixelbook: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M0K0DL2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It only handles one monitor, but it has power pass-through (and gig ethernet and 2x USB3), and most dual monitor hubs cost over $200, this one is only $37. Can't go wrong.

I have this set:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074847T3T/

Wife uses one for her iPad and I use mine for the PB. I've found though that the interchangeable "disc tip" feels rather weird -- perhaps because this is the first stylus with a disc tip I've used. (The disc tips seem fairly common, though, so maybe I'm just a party of one.)

Because I'd really like to take notes with the PB, I just got the Lenovo Active Pen 2 (mentioned in other comments). It arrived yesterday but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

(As an aside: with the MEKO stylus, I found many differences which made it more or less easy/practical to use depending not on the stylus itself, but which notetaking app is used. FWIW, with that stylus, Google Keep seemed to work best.)

You can't get to the back side of the dent. You are going to have to live with the dent.

Maybe an appropriate sticker can help?

I answered my own question from Google directly:

"Built to USB 2.0 specifications: up to 480 Mbps data transfer speed; power output up to 3 Amps"

https://store.google.com/us/product/usb_type_c_usb_type_c?hl=en-US

I'm going with the Amazon Basics cable as it's USB 2.0 IF, braided, 10ft and has a few color options:

I think I may try out this Kensington magnetic screen protector: https://www.amazon.com/Kensington-MacBook-Magnetic-Privacy-K64490WW/dp/B077TVSTMT/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1539915566&sr=8-9&keywords=magnetic%2Bscreen%2Bprotector%2Blaptop&th=1#customerReviews

I think the height will be OK for the PB while the width will overshoot the sides slightly, but I figure that's OK considering it can be removed so easily which means I can use it just when needed. It could be a pain to store when not in use though - wouldn't want to shove it in a bag and get bent...

The only other obvious caveat would be the price. I think I'll at least demo it and then send it back to amazon if it's not worth it!
