I really like these sports bras - I usually rotate and buy one of the four packs every few months, or when they start to get gross. I do CrossFit and Olympic powerlifting, I'm a sweaty mess every time I leave the gym, and they usually last a month or two. I don't want to spend a whole lot of money on bras, but I always feel good about myself when I have a new sports bra.

I don't have much of a tummy, but have enormous arms and shoulders (I look like your typical bodybuilder girl which is why I love this group), and these fit me better than the fancy name brand ones. You can take the padding in and out based on your preference.

Having a uniform is key. You'll feel confident in what you're wearing, and what have to spend much time thinking about an outfit.

As for my outfit, it's yoga pants (either capri or normal length), and a sports bra with some slightly oversized t-shirt cut into a bodybuilding tank. These are my absolute favorite Amazon workout pants that are on the cheap - they're capris, but lots of girls don't care for them. They're great quality, and totally cheap. I honestly think they're better made than LuluLemon, Viper, Nike, etc. I'm a size 14 - 16 with some tailoring on basically everything (5'11" and my weight fluctuates from 175 - 210 lbs.) and they're a little on the big side. I wear a 12 with these and the 14 may fit like an 18.

I always seem to acquire heavy metal t-shirts, and shirts from random gyms (when you buy a day pass, they often give you a t-shirt), and I cut them like dudes do. I throw them out when they start to smell.

The gym is the only place women with bodies like mine are celebrated, and I'm not viewed like some kind of circus freak, so for better or worse, my gym outfit is kind of my everyday wear too. :-/

I won best dressed!

Dress: https://www.macys.com/shop/product/city-studios-juniors-glitter-fit-flare-dress?ID=10147308&CategoryID=18109&isDlp=true&isDlp=true

I should not be wearing a juniors dress at 28, but it fit so whatever. I do love this dress. It's iridescent and the sparkles look pink and red from some angles, blue and purple from others. Also, VERY short. Don't bend over. Like at all.

Pashmina: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZWP0QF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Added a pop of color and was really nice to have as the night got cooler.

Mask: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F6QL4IU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Served its purpose. Not very high quality, ribbon on stick started coming off.

Shoes: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B074F3XG16/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

GORGEOUS. Not comfortable. But gorgeous. I switched into my black Tieks after a few hours.

Hair: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlBxORiXE6Q

I used curlformers instead of a wand and regular braided instead of fishtail. Otherwise followed the tutorial. It was really easy! I have straight hair that is almost as long as the girl in the video, but you could totally do this with medium length hair.

Not a fit-and-flare/skater silhouette, but I recently ordered this one from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07475YFDC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's become one of my favorite dresses. It's super stretchy, but the fabric is nice and thick so you're sort of held in. You mention you've got 'weird hips', but the ruffle does wonders for re-proportioning you. It's subtly sexy and a great length. It doesn't wrinkle so it's great for chucking in a suitcase for travel.

Edit: a word

My top is from Old Navy, and my fave white shorts are from Torrid.

Also for anyone that is a worrywart like me, my purse is one of the anti-theft crossbody bags I got off Amazon. Love it love it love it. It's super lightweight and sleek, plus they have multiple colors if you're interested. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EAFE902/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Woman Within has some good basics but their shipping is hella slow. Also, size down. At least one size.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LND4UR6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I enjoy these flannels as they are actual flannels. One thing I don't like is I can never get the pockets to behave.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079M3DS4V/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This dress is fantastic. And pockets.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BSC3Q8K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 this skirt is great, and it comes with pockets. Do you see a theme here? ;)

I commented another black dress below.

The kimono cardigan thingy goes up to size 3X, but I honestly could have gotten away with a 2X. There's a bunch of different patterns and they're great to wear over tank tops. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HRCDQ9F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I love velvet hangers, and mine don't pick up lint, but for heavier items I bought wooden hangers with non-slip bits on them from Amazon, they're pretty great. You can find them here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F9VGIE2/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thank you u/KimberLovesTMBG for the book mention. That one never crossed my radar and it still looks pretty timely. I think I'll be ordering a used copy from Amazon.

In case anyone else is interested, here's the book (at least I hope I've got the right one!)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0670801453/ref=crt_ewc_img_huc_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1G31V8EZLIGGE

Edit: Here's an interview the author did decades ago. It's still damn relevant IMHO.

Again, I sincerely hope I'm referencing the correct book!

This is honestly the dress, or similar I want when I do get married, I don't really want an actual wedding, I want an outfit for pictures really, but I don't plan to have a full ceremony or reception. Basically sign the paper, seal it w/ a kiss, and have an intimate dinner w/ close friends and family, and that'll be small. But this dress is my style.

u/theejessicarobin · 1 pointr/PlusSize

these are super soft and very stretchy and long. I ordered a 3x and a 4x, the 3x is more my size and I'm on the bigger side of plus. I need every color !! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079Z4RW7W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've been so happy with KBell knee socks! My calves don't fit into most knee socks, but these are my new favorite thing.
