Haha, yeah I didn't take that photo. My Bonnie has fabric seats. I believe it is the SE, but I'd honestly have to consult my owner's manual to verify that information. Regarding the lights, I bought these turn signals (only fit in the front, according to Amazon), these for the rear turn signals, and these to help with nighttime visibility (and they are AMAZING!). Everything was very plug and play, and it made me realize that working on my baby may not necessarily be as complicated as I once thought. The only issue I had with the installation of those parts is the hyper flashing of my turn signals, but that seems easy to correct and I've already ordered the resistors recommended by Amazon.

Edit: I'll probably end up ordering more for my brights and tail lights once I get some more money to play around with. I've spent too much on those listed above, a seat cover set, floor mats, a headlight restoration kit, and an impact drill. My wife is about ready to kill me! :P

I recommend the Scosche MagicMount Pro - $30 on Amazon. It is one of the magnet/metal plate mounts, but given the design of your dash it seems to be either that or a CD-changer insert mount which makes it a bit inconvenient to play CDs.

I had used the original MagicMount for about two years then switched to the "Pro" model this summer when I switched head units in my car. The Pro model has stronger magnets, comes with a spacer to cut down on residue between the plate and mounting surface on the device/case, comes in multiple colors, and has a smaller base for easier mounting.

For a mounting location I'd recommend to the right of the Driver's Info Center next to the center stack's vent, it seems like that would fit.

the car doesn't need any mods, it's cool already :)

the most expensive work I had to do was replace the A/C, maybe others have some horror stories

some little known issues I've had:

  • check and replace the rear differential fluid. having old fluid causes strange noises and bad things to happen if the metal grinds down. you can buy a diff reload kit on amazon that includes a little pump and fluid.
  • if you have the stock chrome wheels, have them checked because slow leaks will pop up since the interior is aluminum and cracks easily
  • get some MAF cleaner, the air sensor inside your air intake gets dirty sometimes and can throw deceptive engine codes

    cheap mods to do:

  • shorty/nub antenna - I think stock is way too long
  • windrestrictor - does get a little breezy with the top down, this helps, plus there's a lot of cool designs if you want one, I think some manufacturers have backlit ones too
  • fitted luggage - not a lot of storage so this would help https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0015ZF57M/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl
  • lil chromies - for some interior accent http://www.ddmworks.com/Lil-Chromies_p_529.html

    performance mods to do:

  • only a little power boost, but an aftermarket air intake is easy to install, plus it will clean up the engine compartment - the stock intake + airbox takes up a lot of room
  • brace kit is highly recommended http://www.ddmworks.com/SolsticeSky-Brace-Bundle-by-DDMWorks_p_302.html

I think this vent one would be your best bet. I've been using it in my G6 and it's been great https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073R68TSH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_6VgDDbWVTKGXY

This is just my suggestion/recommendation, the very next thing I would do to it other than any repair/restoration you might have to do being that you just got it would be a Cold Air intake, I just got this one from amazon and it makes a world of difference and you absolutely can’t beat the price.
Spectre cold air intake

How many miles does she have?

Is there any kind of noticeable ticking sound at idle/low rpms? If there is I got slightly bad news, your gona have to get some lifters replaced some time in the future. OR you could do a DOD delete and get rid of the problem forever plus get her ready for some real upgrades to the engine.

These are absolutely amazing cars and can go well beyond 200k miles if taken care of. I’m at 150k+ miles and she still drives like a brand new car. I have had my car for a little over a year now and I still have the dumbest grin on my face everytime im behind the wheel.

Aah the Pontiac head mix and match game. Unless you want to keep it stock there's a lot to know. If you want to keep it stock be careful - the compression ratios from the late 60's may not run on today's gas. Here's a link to head castings There's a lot of information out there Classical Pontiac is another source. The Jim Hand book is invaluable for both theory and practical info The heads from most Pontiac V8s will interchange readily. Some combos are great others not so much. Heads from a 326,350.389,400-428 and 455 all will mix and match

There are still a fair number of heads kicking around. People are willing to sell. Look on Craigslist and the classified sections of CP and PY

Since someone wanted a pic of a 69 Here's mine....

Would any speaker work as long as it's a 6x9? Like this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00O53ACRE/ref=pd_aw_vtph_107_lp_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ECDTEBXVDNS6NEMKZCTM#nav-search-keywords

Also, online forums mention an optional front speaker that's a 4x10, would it be easy to install? I really want more of a surround sound instead of just rear audio

Buy a single DIN aftermarket radio of your liking.

Buy a single DIN faceplate adapter like this.

Buy a wire harness that will plug into the factory radio connector like this. This will prevent you from hacking the factory wiring to connect it to the aftermarket radio harness.

It may require you to buy this adapter for the factory attenna connect into the aftermarket radio.

Install is pretty easy, search google for walkthroughs if you get stuck.

Does your car have steering wheel controls? If so, you'll lose that feature, there's ways to make it work but they're pricey.

I use the iOttie mount on the dashboard on my Grand Prix just fine. It's a sticky gel suction cup with various pivoting points to angle it just right. Bought it 2 years and it still works.
