I bring a cushion like this.

Also the Hilton features the finest tables made of some beat-up plywood with some plastic trim scraps, staples and a few splinters. So bring a mouse pad and wrist rest if your arms usually rub the edge of the table while gaming.

If you don't want to survive on pizza and burgers for 3 days, pack some fruit or granola bars or something.

The tournament finals on Friday will have free beer. It's all you can drink if you're friendly to the staff or round-robin between each bar.

During master pancake theater, the crowd will discreetly carry in maybe 300 gallons of hard liquor. It's usually great fun. Prepare as you see fit. Please don't scream like a banshee during the show though.

That kind of folding cart works great for a single desktop, or two small ones. There's always at least some of these garden carts in line. It's a good option for a large group, but don't be the guy who is taking up this much space for just your own stuff.

Other good options if you can find them at decent prices include Convertible hand trucks and Flatbed carts

You bring enough party hats, and we can make that happen.

8 hats for $2 on Amazon

Edit: We can do better. 8 for $1

50 ft cable is like 9$ on amazon. Bring a zip tie (or if you're fancy a velcro cable tie) and you're good, the bulk of your cable is rolled up next to your computer.

>The hardest part about getting to a LAN party usually isn't the drive, but rather the short walk between your car and wherever you're setting up. Even if you built a microATX cube to hold your high-end array of graphics cards, you still need to make a second trip for your monitor, and possibly a third for peripherals.

I highly suggest getting something like https://www.amazon.com/Magna-Personal-Capacity-Aluminum-Folding/dp/B000HVVSDU and some Bungee cords.

Bought this last year, so worth it. If you want to spend a bit more and get one for your back too, it’s 👌🏼.

I've got http://amzn.com/B00EUUZAUG that I covered with a tight loop carpet. The monitor is in the original box, and the PC is also covered with the fabric bag that it was shipped with. (She's kind of a trailer queen ;-) ).

I'm using one of these to haul my stuff in and out. I'm gonna have to move my computer quite a few times times since I'm getting in on Monday and leaving Monday after(up to the hotel room, down to the byoc, back up to the hotel room during tear down and then out to the car Monday morning). That walk would get old real fast if I had to carry it each time. I especially like it because the inside is entirely canvas and padded on the bottom. It was a little expensive but worth it. I'll use it for beach/camping trips the rest of the year.

I've been two years so far and the first year I borrowed luggage cart and the next year I didn't. This year I went ahead and bought this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001HBH1BM/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

If you can afford to get one or maybe borrow one from a friend it's definitely worth it. Making two trips and lugging your monitor/case through the line and to your seat pain in the ass.

Seriously though, cheap folding dolly that I've used for the last 4 years.

ITT: people pissed off about spending $10 for a 50 ft ethernet cable after spending $500-1,000 to go to QuakeCon including hotel rooms.
