PUA seems to work because like you said about eye contact and indicating interest, it's based on shit that's gets results. I personally like Conversationally Speaking. It's basically "how to not have awkward conversations" and more. It's the good parts of PUA without the creepy endgoal of having sex with a random chick met at a bar.
