One thing I’m doing on my 08 right now is sound proofing the cabin using these sound deadening mats to help with the loud cabin noise on the freeway.
LED headlights, tinted windows, and interior led strip lights are a good way to start off too.
I wouldn’t do any performance upgrades unless you can really work some magic.
Borla axleback gives it a nice low grumble if you’re looking for that, although it is around $500.
A great set of tires goes a long ways too and a strut bar if you’re gonna be taking sharp corners!

tC looks really nice after clay bar and wax:)

I installed a Kenwood DMX7705S in my first gen and Android Auto works great with it. I also went the extra mile and installed a Maestro idatalink to keep the steering wheel controls and also have the ability to read the OBD II codes incase my check engine light comes on.

Edit: Here's an old thread where I detail a little more on what's needed for the installation.

Double edit: If you're also interested in getting a sub and don't want to clutter up the area behind the back seats, I suggest checking out this Bazooka enclosure that is made specifically for first gen tCs. It's pretty simple to install and the wiring harness connects straight to the stock wiring for the radio.

I got a pair of these. Super cheap but surprisingly good. Originally intended to be temporary while I repaired the old ones, but after the break in I think they sound better than the old expensive ones.

Both in a ported box aimed up, pushed by this amp.

Thanks for sharing a the product!

Looks like the same store offers the same product for slightly cheap off Amazon

maybe something like this then? It's not bad for the price. Looks about $75.00 right now.

Otherwise have everyone pack a legit duffel bag. I bet four of those suckers would fit pretty easily in the trunk.

Still think you should pack light though.

No problem man, glad you took my advice well. I almost always advise against LEDs and many people take offense to that. The fact of the matter is that LEDs are not ready for prime time and anyone who tells you so is just trying to get you to open your wallet up nice and wide.

For the $120 of the 2stroke 2.0s, you could easily get several pairs of these:

No, they aren't cool blue like the LEDs, but they certainly give better beam performance. These are 9012+30 bulbs, which put out more light than your standard 9012s.

i replaced both of mine on my 05. they're like $40 shipped on ebay and amazon. you need to buy a pry kit like this to pop it off and then it slides right in.

If you're looking for a practical sub box, this thing is the way to go. fits a 10" and is reasonably priced. Not only is this a custom Scion TC box on the cheap, but they even throw in a built in 100 rms (200 peak) sub/amp combo. What a steal. Of course I took out the original sub and put in a Focal P25 since I already had it and wired it to a different amp.

But this was a steal. Not only is this box pretty awesome, but the stock sub and amp is too. they even tossed in a wiring harness that plugs into the stock radio. It's pretty freaking loud for how cheap the sub is. I'm just so happy I can still use my trunk and fold the seats flat for any purpose.

Look into R1 Concepts. I've had their budget (named ELINE) rotors with the basic zinc coating, GEOMET coated rotors, and ceramic pads on my tC2 and they've done great. I've even autocrossed a few times. Right now you can get front drilled and slotted ELINE rotors and ceramic pads for the front for $106 on Amazon. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00J4PO684/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_7.AZDbJ8NYYK3

I have used a hitch mounted back rack for many trips. It works great and can hold 300-500 pounds depending on the rack. Link for Hitch and rack. Video of install.

Winjet grill foglights:

I installed foglights on my 2009 last weekend. The screws to mount the foglights where too small so I had to go to Lowe's for some wider ones, but other than that it was pretty simple. I used a fuse tap in the cigarette lighter fusr in order to power the switch.
