Oh, he carries a guitar case because his other love is music. His autobiography, Cat Daddy: What the World's Most Incorrigible Cat Taught Me About Life, Love, and Coming Clean has far too long of a name, but it's a short read.
I could summarize it as a man dives into some dark places in life and finds redemption through taking care of cats. He apparently still plays shows, but prefers to keep those lives separate.

Very nice! This weekend ended up doing some shopping and meal prep on Saturday. Then went to the bar for happy hour and board games on Sunday. This was the game we played.
Gun safe's are pretty darn cheap for basic models. Walmart has a 10-rifle safe for $99. It might not stand up to part (d) of the definition, but it's there. Amazon has a biometric rifle safe for $215 (and 2-day shipping) that gets decent reviews. These options aren't perfect, but they're a far sight better than keeping it in a travel bag in the closet, and don't add much burden.
You can get a bowl that opens on a timer and set it to open a bit before you plan to wake up. Cat won't come wake you up.
These are pretty good. I set it up when I feed 'em dinner. Lots of fancier stuff out there too.
I was awake and watching the clock when it turned over and then backtracked at 2:AM. I had a TV Brick in hand and threw it at the clock.
One oddity I noted was that one of my older Android tablets I use as a clock hung up at 12:59 and stayed that way for two hours before the change and then suddenly lurched forward the two hours when the time changed. It's an older Toshiba Thrive and apparently that version of Android had a 'Daylight Savings Time' bug.
