I did some digging last night looking for a sub $250 2in1 that would work.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ShadowPC/comments/apcyao/looking_for_a_cheap_2in1_that_can_run_shadow/eg8b53r/

Edit: check out the Chuwi hi13. It's a big boy, but is £250 for a much better CPU, 3k*2k display, USB type C. It will have the power to output that resolution as well. It has the b/g/n/ac wifi, so you'll get a better connection as well. The type c with definitely help with getting an ethernet dongle as well.

Then theres the linx 12x64 that's only z£190 with a better CPU, 4GB of ram, twice the storage and a 1920x1200 display.

Maybe I'm just seeing the wrong prices since I'm in the states, but the linx 1010 on Amazon UK is £249. You have much better options than the 1010, unless you're getting a good deal on the 1010. I honestly would recommend getting something better in the display and i/O department. You're getting access to a comp that can throw 1440p at over 75fps, don't limit it with a bad connection and display.

Man it wouldnt cost 2000+ usa dollars to buy a computer like this.

https://www.amazon.com/Stratos-i7-8700-GeForce-Windows-Computer/dp/B07932NM7M/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1539615293&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=1070+desktop&psc=1

That right there is better than a shadow, and it is 1349.

When did I say I was putting it down, or that my experience wasn't the best. Did you even read what I wrote lol. I said it is not a high end gaming computer. It is not a 1080gtx, because it needs 20-30 percent of the gpu to stream the game to you. I think their streaming software is the best I have seen it surpasses sonys which was the best.

I didnt say no body should buy the service. I said in my opinion it is only worth it for the streaming program. The sever specs are trash, especially the cpu. In all cases, for me I would just get a gaming desktop. There is nothing good about shadow but the streaming software. A 1349 gaming desktop, is much better, gets better ping, has better speeds, doesnt use up 140mbps of your internet to use it, and that 8700 i7 is almost triple what the garbage xeon 3.2 can do. Add 100 more bucks into that you could get a 8700k 5ghz and that gets over 3000 single 18000 multi vs the 9000 1900 the 3.2 xeon gets. Which if you want translations into fps, you are talking like 30-60fps more depending on the game. Arma 3, and black desert specfically would get over 30 fps at 1080 or 4k with a 8700k vs a low end xeon 3.2 processor.

This of course is at 4k, which is the only thing I play. So my bill for this is 140 for the internet to be able to use it, 34 for the shadow, 650 for the laptop, and o yes you need the one i have as the min, it is using over 90% of the vega 8 gpu.

Go for a minimum of i3 processor. I mean you could buy what you showed me but yet again the laptop needs a good processor to stay alive for some period of time and a good pcei, 2018 Acer 15.6" HD WLED Chromebook with 3X Faster WiFi Laptop Computer, Intel Celeron Core N3060 up to 2.48GHz, 4GB RAM, 16GB eMMC, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB 3.0, HDMI, Chrome OS https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FSFRWS4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_biGxDbN5JR899

It’s not ergonomic enough to sell an iPad product like that en mass. Best bet would be to wait for iOS to update with controller support & mix your Phone with a stand like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Dainslef-Controller-Smartphone-Microsoft-Steelseries/dp/B01MSX55FM/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=xbox+iphone+clip&qid=1562653595&s=gateway&sprefix=xbox+iph&sr=8-1

And an iPad sitting on a normal case-stand

The android client of the shadow app is currently not as good as the windows/mac/ghost clients, especially at handling input (especifically mouse inputs) it has seen some improvement in the latest update though.

The Shield is a great device, and one of the benefits it has over the ghost is that it is not limited to using shadow, that said, it is not officially supported by Shadow, so I wouldn't expect longevity, support, etc...

Right now your best bet would be buying a mini windows PC, I've seen people buy a 100-ish £ mini-pc that can run shadow without any problems at all.

I'll try to dig out the mini Pc details.

Edit: ok couldnt find the specific mini PC but it was something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07CYBR484/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_n1B6CbJF4CF2A

But have a read here: https://wiki.shadow.pink/index.php/Can_i_run_it

This will tell you all you need to know to make an informed purchase.

Hi, Found this thread while doing my own research. Thanks for the falling over heads up. It saved me from buying the same one. I did end up finding this on amazon and it looks like it's brand new (no reviews yet) and was designed with that issue in mind). I'll post back when i get it tomorrow and test it at night.

Yeah, I ended up getting this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07PQ7Z6B4?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image

I’m hoping it will be able to handle shadow at 1440p 60hz ok

u/Jarola · 2 pointsr/ShadowPC

Thanks for the reply. I am going to try it with this pc stick that I own - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M6XULXJ/ref=dp_prsubs_1

I think it is pretty close in specs to your box. It does not do windows at 4k, so I may upgrade it. But I will have to see what it get this this box first.

I got this controller for this exact set up and I LOVE IT

If you decide you want the convince of just plugging in one usb-c I would suggest this if your Mac or pc is powered off of the usb-c it’s all taken care of with in one cord.

u/damorlock · 1 pointr/ShadowPC

I use this one, and it seems to work great so far. I bought a separate mount for my phone that clips onto it:

I've been thinking the same thing. I have this mini PC ( https://www.amazon.com/x5-Z8350-Processor-1000Mbps-Fanless-Computer/dp/B075SS1YX4/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=mini+pc&qid=1555530972&s=gateway&sr=8-7 ) saved on my Amazon cart and have been debating if I want to buy it or not. The 2 reasons for me on top of what you have said in your post is that I am in the USA and the Shadow ghost is not available for sale here, and with the one I in my cart has a VGA and HDMI port so if I want I can use dual monitors locally and have my mini PC on one screen and my shadow client on the other screen for around the same price. The reason I haven't bought the mini PC is because I don't know how good it is as a stand alone PC without using Shadow in an event that I don't have internet. If I want a Shadow Ghost I can really buy it from one of the people selling them on Reddit. And because I don't know if the Shadow Ghost hardware can run the Shadow software better then the mini PC with less issues because it's made for Shadow. Some one should make a comparison video. Lol.

Tried to do a quick search and didn't find one. One thing you could use: https://www.amazon.com/Holder-Rotating-Hanging-Mobile-Bracket/dp/B07BJ2N1TC/ref=sr_1_12?keywords=neck+tablet+holder&qid=1562592634&s=gateway&sr=8-12

Now that the new iOS supports PS4 and Xbox one controllers, it'll only be a matter of time before they start coming out with accessories for this purpose.
