This book, by far. - The Simulation Hypothesis by Rizwan Virk.
It's a combination of the Simulation Theory/Hypothesis with concepts regarding computation, video game history and technological progress, spirituality and other religious notions, not to mention plenty of relevant cultural examples pertaining to the theory/hypothesis such as The Matrix.
Fantastic read. Extremely enlightening. If you enjoy elements of Eastern mysticism then you'll really love it. I cannot recommend it enough. The book connects many dots that all seem to lead to the Simulation.

Lots of people are scared of AI. Like Elon Musk an Nick Bostrom, who even wrote a book about AI. Bostrom's AI work is separate from his Simulation Argument work FYI.
> Why does that organism evolve? Why did microorganisms evolve into complex, diverse, and sometimes even intelligent, life in some scenarios?
The Selfish Gene covers this.
