I used these I was happy with the quality of them for the price and they are very bright. At night the glow is noticeable on my side mirrors.

I personally don't think the 1mm will matter. The hub ring will be .5mm thin, which will make the hub ring super weak anyways, probably get bent just mounting the wheels on.
Are you sure the wheels are ball seated? Usually don't see that in aftermarket wheels.
I don't recommend conical to ball adapters. I've run them before, they work, but suck. They were too soft. They're basically like crush washers and have a one time use to them in my opinion. You can use them once, but once you remove your wheels, I wouldn't run them again, so I say avoid those.
