Hey friend, whatever you do dont get a crosley. I know a lot of people have them now and I’ll probably get downvotes for this but they aren’t that good. If you plan on getting more records and playing them pretty often, I’d recommend getting a sound system and a Thorens. They are a bit pricey compared to the little target Crosleys, but are well worth the price. I’m not sure about sound system brands, but any record shop near you should be able to help! If you’re not really going to be playing much other than a few records every now and then, I have a record player that was ~$130USD on amazon ( here’s the link if you’d like to check it out - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H29YRQ3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_vp4nDb7XCQDQW ) and it works very well for how often I use it. It also works as a bluetooth speaker and you can plug in a USB to save the music in digital form straight from the records- kinda like how the 90’s kids and us 2000’s kids would download our music from CDs. It’s really easy to set up and has a built in speaker. I have a lot of experience with records from my vinyl-addicted dad, so if you need any help my DMs are open! There are probably subreddits for records too, the more knowledge the better! :3

Hi /r/stardewvalley! OP here. Wanted to share a project my friend Wayne and I have been working on for the past few months: a voice assistant for Stardew Valley. (We got permission from the mods to post about it)

A bit about us: we met at Etsy.com and really liked working together. We decided to quit our jobs to build something we loved. After exploring a couple projects, we realized what we really loved was video games. Since we didn't know how to make a game, we decided to build tools for gamers.

About the project: We love the story, freedom, creativity, and depth of Stardew. We've both felt the pain of having to alt-tab to the wiki to figure out where to find a certain character (so you can complete that quest before time runs out!) or accidentally giving someone the wrong gift and hurting your friendship. We use voice assistants in other areas of our lives - so why not for games?

How it works: connect to the assistant (we named it "GA") on Discord, Alexa, or Google Assistant, ask about something and get an answer back in seconds. We have 8000+ answers in the system so far and adding new ones all the time based on questions people ask.

Try it out: We've been testing GA with a few dozen folks but wanted to expand it to a larger group for further refinement. Please give it a whirl and let us know what you think!

  • Video demo
  • Try it on Discord (join our server)
  • Try it on Alexa ("Hey Alexa, ask Midgame what are Leah's favorite gifts?")
  • Try it on Google Assistant ("Hey Google, Ask Midgame G.A. how much corn sells for")

Here's a list of the question types we support so far. We recently redid schedules (which can be really tricky)

    Gifts

  • What are Shane’s favorite gifts?
  • Who likes chocolate cake?
  • When is Alex's birthday?

    Recipes / Upgrades

  • How do I make pizza?
  • How do I get a big barn?

Schedules (we only support dateable villagers currently)

  • Where is Haley on Tuesdays in the Fall at 3pm?
  • Where is Elliot on Saturdays in the Summer at 8pm?

    Locations

  • Where does Emily live?
  • When is the carpenter open?

    Buying / Selling

  • How much do potatoes sell for?
  • How much does cauliflower sell for?

    Fishing

  • What are the best add ons for my fishing rod?
  • Where can I catch Tuna?

Random game info (this can be hit or miss)

  • How many eggs do I need to win the egg hunt?
  • What can I do in the greenhouse?
  • How do I get a prismatic shard?

I think it's like this for most people, but I'm actually pretty handy with a track pad. I've played games like Ragnarok Online, Wakfu (turn based MMO), and Terra with it. I either amaze people with this, or get so much smack talk, LOL... That said, I actually prefer a controller for Stardew Valley. The only thing you'd have to do manually is type in names. I have this cheap little controller: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072JJHBRN/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Elecrow 11.6” Monitor

I’ve used this for almost 6 months and I love it. It fits perfectly in my bag and looks pretty good considering it’s size. Anytime I go to LAN parties I bring my PS4 and this and have everything set up within minutes while I watch other people fumble around with their TVs and bigger monitors. I also have one of those bendable arm clip holders for your phone and tablet and it holds this monitor perfectly. Gaming in bed has never been more comfortable.

No, I used cheap cleaning sponges, since I already had a 10-pack (so enough for 70+ plants).

Will use a pool-noodle (they have a tighter grip, and denser foam) for the real design, once I've worked out the details.

I have a container design already figured out, and I'm currently researching LED lamps, seeing what I can get away with for the least amount of dollars without it looking terrible or being a fire-hazard. Currently going to evaluate LED tube lights from Philips (generic lighting, but workable watt and color-temperature options).

If I was in the US, I would have just gone with a couple of Sansi Grow-lights; they seem great and affordable. If thinks don't work out, I might import a couple and eat the import cost.

In any case, household sponges work pretty well, but the seedlings will often grow into the pores, making them harder to transplant if you need them to be in a bigger sponge.

Pool-noodles should remedy that, with their tighter grip.

I do too, soon as I saw the announcement, I've been immediately considering getting one. I'd probably only ever play on PC, and even then I don't have as much play time as I'd like, but it's been awhile since I've really LOVED a game.

edit: Incidentally, to remind Amazon Prime members, you get a discount on physical games. $23.99 with Prime on Amazon.

I posted earlier (sorry for duplicate comment!) but I use the Steelseries Nimbus. It charges with a lightning cable too. Great battery life.

It’s awesome.

Pepper jelly is amazing on crackers with cream cheese. It sounds crazy, I know, but everyone I’ve introduced to it has been surprised at how good it is. It’s usually not made with particularly spicy peppers, btw. It’s about as hot as mae ploy sweet chili sauce.

u/Mind_Killer Β· 3 pointsr/StardewValley

Here it is on Microsoft's site, but I don't think you can buy for someone else.

Usually you can get the Digital Codes on Amazon and give them to someone else, but I only see it for PS4 right now. Might show up eventually for Xbox though.

Another option would be to buy a gift card for the exact price and let him add that on his Xbox.

A roundabout way to do it... if you have an Xbox you can setup Home Sharing between your Xbox and his. Then when you buy the game, he can download it to his for free.

u/lostinthewoods466 Β· 2 pointsr/StardewValley

You can purchase them anywhere they should be on amazon.

Sorry I’m in the UK currently if you were looking for an American link but they should be pretty easy to find. Pretty damn pricey tho

It's extremely easy to pull a hard drive out of most laptops. You can buy SATA to USB cables on amazon for under $10. You can easily with a screw driver remove the HDD and get all your files back with the SATA to USB cable.

This is the one I just recently bought for myself, works great!

Mead is easily my favorite alcoholic drink. Very sweet, and often fruity (depending on brew process), but it's smoother than basically any other drink. It's just a bit more viscous than usual, but that plus the flavor make it an unbeatable experience.

For bonus points, drink it from a horn.

Yes!!! I bought the biggest and cutest pencil case I could find on amazon, the quality’s not bad and I love seeing all my colors organized. This one holds my brush pens / watercolor markers too... I might get a second one for my color pencils....

Your line work is actually not bad. But, mixing the cartoon features of the face with the realistic musculature of the body looks off to me.

You should get one of these to help you progress in body proportions.

I use [size 14 plastic mesh] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00114M18S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_sXewDbQ4G154H), I did have to order it from amazon because my Joann’s doesn’t carry that size. It also feels more comfortable to work with than most plastic canvas I’ve tried

Had to think really hard, but I found them again. I really like these caps , they enhance the joy-cons so much!
