I would like to begin by saying that I congratulate the fact that a young person has chosen to explore new and varied cultures. Such a desire should be praised and encouraged by all with the smallest conceivable amount of wonder in their heart.

But the way one must approach this manner is in the way once described by Aristotle, one must be able to contemplate an idea without accepting it. I fear your venture, one certainly begun with good intent, falls short of its potential.

Human understanding of the world is a quality which has steadily increased in depth over our history. We are at the forefront of universal comprehension in terms of our ability to extract information from the world. One of our most profound lessons learned from this human undertaking concerns the inherent “glitches” in human judgment, viz a viz implicit and explicit biases. These interfere with our ability to have a genuine and valid interface with the world. We’ve learned techniques to manage these flaws and they have proved that, with diligence and wisdom, we can learn truths about the world about us.

[As an aside, the book You Are Now Less Dumb by David McRaney is a wonderful and fun read on modern understanding of these "glitches".]

Ancient cultures, such as those you’ve mentioned, have been oft demonstrated to have had -- as well as those which persist to this day -- erroneous beliefs on numerous matters. Chief among them is that of causality.

Causality is something which is far better understood as it falls well under the scope of human understanding. Many of these cultures’ ideas are the results of our shared human glitches. These ideas which you accept as valid fall under that canopy.

We better understand that which was once immobile from the realm of the “mystical”. Many miracles of the past are found in today’s elementary school homework. The gods no longer be evoked to explain the movements within the earth, the heavenly bodies, or the origins of life.

We’re a species that grows and is able to learn from the past.

We expand, clarify, and preen the lexicon of human comprehension as time passes.

I encourage you to stay your acceptance of these error born conceptions of the world and consider the full realm of the human understanding of our own failings, as well as our successes when contemplating new information.

You completely missed the point of what I'm trying to say. Keeping an open mind means that you don't believe or not believe in something. It means that you believe in the possibility of such thing.

But for you to choose to disregard a source just because it seems like a bucket of shit isn't fair! In our current society/culture, the idea of giants roaming the Earth at any point in time already sounds like a bucket of shit. Does it not?

Now, I'll go find some of the best sources I can just because you truly seem interested. Whether you investigate them or not is your choice. But REMEMBER - I believe in the possibility of giants -not that they're real. Don't get it mixed up again.

Videos:

I have to say, after searching for a while it was difficult for me to find a video that could directly inform you about this stuff. Therefore, I'll expand.

My prior knowledge about these said "giants" stems from my knowledge regarding the "Anunnaki" who supposedly built the pyramids and have played a crucial role in our history as a species.

I'm going to assume that you don't know much about them so I'll provide links telling you all about the Anunnaki - which will also eventually intertwine with "giants" called the Igigi.

Heres a video that wraps a whole fuckload of information into a roughly half-hour documentary.

Anunnaki - Summarized

The reason I know about this stuff is because my older brother is best friends with a guy named Matt Lacroix. He has written his own book regarding the supposed suppression of human consciousness which intertwines with the Anunnaki.

Here's his book:
[The Illusion of Us: The Suppression and Evolution of Human Consciousness](The Illusion of Us: The Suppression and Evolution of Human Consciousness https://www.amazon.com/dp/1518671063/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_cC-HybC3YBBA4)

Now, this guy Matt also makes his own videos on YouTube regarding the Anunnaki with another guy named Gerald Clark who has written some books on the subject and he too, makes his own YouTube videos.

Matt's Channel

Gerald's Channel

Gerald's Books:

[The Anunnaki of Nibiru: Mankind's Forgotten Creators, Enslavers, Saviors, and Hidden Architects of the New World Order](The Anunnaki of Nibiru: Mankind's Forgotten Creators, Enslavers, Saviors, and Hidden Architects of the New World Order https://www.amazon.com/dp/1491211229/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_7K-Hyb3ARHR91)

[The 7th Planet, Mercury Rising](The 7th Planet, Mercury Rising https://www.amazon.com/dp/1505531888/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_aM-HybYR23ZM5)

If you do some research and are intrigued, I suggest reading Zecharia Sitchin's books as well. They go much further into detail and he was pretty much the guy to start making possible connections between the supposed Anunnaki, and us.

This is definitely a philosophical question, so there is no certain answer. Clearly we don't know where we're going, but some argue that we're not the end goal of anything, just a piece of the path that will continue until humans are gone. I suggest you check out Ishmael by Daniel Quinn if you haven't read it before; pretty easy read and is driven by many of the questions you ask.

What very interesting questions you ask. Fascinating, truly! If we are to take the scientific view, logic dictates that all the personalities are equal. The problem is that human societies also have instincts, emotions, and other irrational things for which logic can’t always account for.

As for myself, I tend to be a logical person. The problem is logic doesn't work very well with evolution. What I mean to say is, new things happen all the time, unknown things, unknown until the time of learning that is. Until then logic cannot account for them. Maybe multiple-personality disorders will play a part in our evolution and will be heralded as the next big adaptation to our environment in the next 100,000 years, maybe not. But one thing we do know is: We do not know. Until we figure it out we must remain open to any possibilities and tweak our behavior as needed.

I can't help but give a knowing smile at the last paragraph, because it is something most humans share. Or at least I feel we do. An irrational thought as to how we see people. Science has well thought of positions on these matters (most of the time), because of the imperatives of science. Humans on the other hand tend to be more sentimental about it. I'll try to explain how I see a person in front of me.

A person is a body, but a body is only a tool of the mind. It has tugs and pulls, no doubt about it. But with a sufficiently trained mind (and I don't know many people which do not share the capability of this affliction) one can control his/her body within reasonable limits. A person is his/her actions, feelings, and thoughts (the body never comes into view unless the relationship requires it: a touch of skin to increase bonding and feelings of warmth, etc.) So what happens when the new set of actions/feelings/thoughts intrude as a new persona? If my friend were to die in a similar fashion which you've described, I'd probably mourn my friend, and feel loss. A selfish personality interrupted the growth of another one. I would probably feel sad for my friend too if (s)he had to watch another personality do that to him/her. Alas, I think such consequences can only be dealt emotionally, because logic sees nothing wrong with an individual dying and the species continuing. The selfish gene is with all of us, and most likely everyone has their own semi-unique way in which they handle such situations.

Now, let us meld society irrationalities with logical thought. A “sufferer” of MPD will be given two options if his/her personalities have been deemed disruptive (this concept is so fucked up it sickens me sometimes). They can choose to live with it, or try to merge the personalities into the dominant one. I don’t know if the dominant one is the original, but I assume (big if) that if one can pinpoint the “original” personality they will, and consider it “original”, and the others insignificant byproducts. I put original in quotations because I have no idea how you’d make such a judgment. Also, society will react as it sees things best for it. If one of the personalities threatens to kill itself, doctors will take steps to stop this: Suicide watch. Any threat which is perceived from this entity will be dealt with in the best interest of the tribe. The word has significance because we delve deep into our survival instinct to make these decisions.

Notice how my own thought patterns change. It is no longer a single person acting under a single will. We must change our approach to that entity in a way to take account for the extra unknowns. Maybe that entity is never human the way we understand humans: Predictable from the high viewpoint but individually unpredictable. What happens when you increase the unpredictability factor? A new theory of the mind will have to be developed to account for the new psyches present in the same physical space? One second’s ally can be the next second’s enemy. How would you know? I think this might go beyond the realm of human. My own feel for it. I couldn’t bring any convincing arguments to bypass our first instinct: looks like a person, talks like a person but isn’t a single person. I must be weary of that one. Unless you’ve come to appreciate each person and there is a finite number of them.

Some of these questions are put in a sci-fi book called Blindsight. In it we had a character which had multiple personalities that were in contact with each other and had a sort of consensus as to how they shared the body. Never going beyond the metaphor of 4 distinct people having to share the same body.

I must admit, reading the above paragraphs again, it feels like I’m trying to grip something with oil on my hands. Very slippery. Sorry for the wall of text.

The very best setup to prevent smell I've found is using a dry herb vape pen & a smoke buddy like this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00478UIB2/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdb_t1_NT7LAbC32N8ZG
I live in a downstairs apartment and am extremely paranoid about the neighbors smelling & complaining. I've also heard of people making their own air filters out of empty soda bottles & activated charcoal (fish tank charcoal) but I haven't tried it myself. Smoke buddy lasts me about a month of daily use & is only 12$. The vape pen keeps any residual smell from drifting around. Randy's makes one that heats up enough to combust or you can just vape it. Even if you stick with a bowl, I still highly recommend the smoke buddy.

Edit: Extra thoughts - depending on the location of the window compared to where your parents would be, I would blown it out the window. The smell disperses fast in fresh air. But if you do the vape pen/smoke buddy set up, you won't even need to open the window.

Diaspora is a fantastic read (and very relevant). I'm going to throw out A Fire Upon the Deep, as being fairly relevant but mostly just an awesome book.

Indeed. I'll add to the bit about being a good reader that one needs to let things bleed into the writing, which means reading everything: fiction, non fiction, westerns, romances, thrillers, dense historical dramas.

I like to think I've taken high writing to the next level by writing high about characters that are high and looking to get higher.

You're thinking the exact thing as most prominent astronomers! The "fine tuning problem"* notices that if the universe's constants like the electron mass, the gravitational constant, and the cosmological constant were even SLIGHTLY different then life wouldn't have been possible. Suggests something deeper...
