I believe you need to add a copper shim if you decide to go with G12 route because of EVGA's baseplate design Either remove the baseplate entirely or also add in a copper shim in order for the aio to make proper contact.
Another air cooler I recommend and currently using is the Rajintek Morpheus II It doesn't come with any fans, but you can attach with your favorite 2 120mm case fans which will be far more superior than regular vga fans. Downside is that it will take roughly 3.5 slots when you add the fans. I'm only averaging 60C max under load with my OC gtx 980 ti while maintaining high clocks with it with 2 Noctua nf-f12 ippc fans attached.
I am still waiting on my kit but I like you did some research and was told to make sure you have a 4mm hex bit along with the proper size screw driver. This is the tool kit that was recommended:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009MKGRQA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Probably best to ask in our case manufacturers sub, but something like this may suffice. Riser
You might as well get the Arctic 140 kit.
https://www.amazon.ca/ARCTIC-Accelero-Hybrid-III-140-Generic/dp/B010T96DCK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1500433491&sr=8-1&keywords=arctic+140
Since you're located in Canada, this price is CHEAPER than the American retail, and it's cheaper than the EVGA kit. You can contact Arctic and ask them if it will fit the FTW cards prior to purchasing them. They should but never hurts to ask.
Well that should rule that out unless they screwed up the wiring. If you want to be 100% sure you can always grab a outlet tester.
Otherwise it sounds like you just have some really really bad luck and I hope they'll get their heads together and fix it for you as they should have just sent you a new unit after the 2nd time.
Looks like its a standard asetek cooler so yeah you could get an AM4 asetek bracket and it should mount fine and work well.

I think you should be okay. If you plug your system specs into EVGA's Power Meter it recommends 600W+ so you are probably safe since it tends to err on the safe side. If you want so see just how much your rig is pulling from the wall, you could get a something like a Kill A Watt to see if what sort of headroom you have when everything is stock.
You know I was wondering the same thing when I watched the video. At the time I couldnt find any answers and gave up for a while. I am planning on eventually opening my sc2 hybrid up trying different things. Hopefully there will be some solutions by then.
Was also going to try putting these [copper heatsink pins] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002BWXW6E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) on the cold plate extensions that are covering the memory modules. I think theres enough room for them to squeeze inside, if not I was thinking the backplate over the vrms. More curious than anything to see if I can get a noticeable temp drop.
Fair enough. However, Amazon and NewEgg reviews tell a more complete story. Those are for the same motherboard I had, and they're barely holding on to 3-star reviews, with a ton of problems experienced between a total of 76 people in the short time it's been out.
If you want to go with Asus, go with Asus. It doesn't affect me either way. I just want you to be fully aware of the situation going in so you can make an informed decision. It's nothing more than that. :-)
Seems like this is not a hot issue but for those interested it did end up working. Getting this adapter, bypassing the card's header, and plugging it into a motherboard CHA_FAN header allows you to set the fan speed in the bios to control the pump power. Lowering it to 80% cut the sharpness but going to ~50% made it near silent.
Ended up tweaking a curve so it'll kick up the speed if the system is getting hot. So far it idles at around the same temps ~30-32C and kicks up to ~50-55C under load at 2ghz, max power.
If you look at here you can see they're distributed by Amazon.ca with free shipping.
At the moment there are no coupons available for discount, EVGA for a period from launch date they haven't announced a discounted or with a coupon for their products, I have seen some dealer/distributors/resellers have been offering their own coupon (not EVGA) for the discounted price.
$15 is not expensive if the product cost much as 500CAD.
Have you tried testing GPU in another computer? If you can I'd recommend that to see if it really did fry the GPU. If it did, definitely bad psu. Swap that bad boy out. Also swap the Cable as it could have been fried as well.
If GPU is working fine in another computer, then it's going to be a bigger headache. Probably need to replace Mobo. Though this is unlikely the culprit. I'd almost bet money on bad PSU.
If you can, get a PSU tester. They're like $10-$20 and are very good for this kind of thing. Allows you to make sure it's PSU before hooking up a replacement part and frying it too.
Edit: Here's a cheap PSU tester. $11. Might be worth it to get it and test PSU first. Unless Corsair is willing to swap it out anyway. If they aren't, get that and test it. If you tell them you tested it with a PSU tester and it tests bad, they will not balk any about swapping it out.

Couldn't tell you without known the board specs, and I know it's annoying since you then have to take up a 2.5" slot, power connector, etc, but this worked perfectly for using my samsung M.2 SSD on an older MB.
edit nevermind, I'm a lost redditor and thought I was in /r/buildapc ... looking at the specs of the z370 boards though, it still doesn't seem obvious what exactly that m.2 slot has. Might still be stuck with an adapter.
