The music attorney in me is very curious as to whether you realize that obtaining music via
>downloadble links

so that you
>could listen

to an album
>without buying it,

absent the rights holder's consent, is the same as stealing the album, and is most likely against the law to some degree, regardless of whichever country you are located in. Sorry, but I'm not going to help you accomplish that one. But hey, thanks for the job security!

That said, the Taylor Swift fan in me has a few additional responses to offer you:

  1. Have you had a chance to read the op ed she wrote for the Wall Street Journal last summer?

  2. Did you know you can purchase her previous four albums on Amazon for a combined cost of $33, which includes a new physical copy of each CD and an instantly downloadable MP3 version of each album? That's a pretty good deal, considering there are around 60 songs between those four albums, and iTunes charges $1.29/song. Here are the links for each one, for your convenience:
    LP 1: Self-Titled;
    LP 2: Fearless;
    LP 3: Speak Now;
    LP 4: Red

  3. If that's out of your budget right now or you don't want to invest before you know if you like her older material, you can go to Beats Music, sign up for the free 14 day trial and stream her entire back catalogue for free over the next two weeks. That should give you some time to save up to purchase the albums that you decide you enjoy.

    Hope that helps and hope you have a fantastic week! :)

Okay. Here's my outside shot: The new album is called Sunflower.

It works as an album title; colorful, evocative, and bright. It matches thematically with the transformation between Reputation and the present - "I once was poison ivy, but now I'm your daisy." They grow very tall and they're blonde on top, just like Taylor. My first thought along those lines was that it might be somebody's nickname for her, so I started running with it.

The dress she wears for the first part of the video has a large sunflower (or sunflower-esque bloom) at the center of the skirt. There's a vase of them on the table in her apartment's entryway, a great easter egg. (There's also a vase of non-sunflower yellow blooms on the table near the window, underneath a painting of a cat with yellow flowers.) Later in the video, Brendon's suit is spangled with a liberal helping of them - or, if not sunflowers, then sunflower-esque yellow blooms.

As she sings "one of these things is not like the others," Taylor comes center-frame wearing a yellow suit. Apart from a couple of pocket squares and ties, the color yellow is reserved only for Taylor and Brendon throughout the video.

If this were true, it'd need more supporting evidence than just the video, and I think that exists as well. Taylor's first reveal for this new era was the Elle cover, where she was dressed in an explosively-bright yellow gown - the background of which makes the folds of the dress look like a yellow bloom. The infamous five-hole fence picture has a yellow tint and was marked with a yellow heart emoji. Even the picture she took in Australia on November 10th has her looking to the left at what might be yellow blossoms. (I'm not above going full Charlie board on this.)

I think that it becomes a perfect overall symbol of rebirth and growth. What better antidote is there to dark times than the sun?

Edit: Almost forgot one. The top book on her table under the cool chicks pictures is Cartier in the 20th Century, but I thought it was more interesting for the catchy color. She sings all about the colors of the rainbow in ME!, and these books are red, pink, and orange, in that order. The next color in the spectrum would be yellow.

Edit 2: Okay, I think I'm really onto something here. The video even starts with the butterfly trying to get through the window to Taylor, and she's been wearing them all over the place ever since the teasers started.

Edit 3: Pretty sure the flowers Brendon tries to give to Taylor are pink sunflowers.

You may luck on a Black Friday deal, but IMO, the best entry level/starter table is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N3S4X3P?pf_rd_p=183f5289-9dc0-416f-942e-e8f213ef368b&pf_rd_r=7SVEF18W30MDVFQVNRE8

It can hook up to a computer or a receiver. It has a built in amp (better tables don't - which means you have to spend more money)The components are great for an entry level table (good needle, tone arm, counter weight).

I really can't say it enough (i've posted it in other threads here). If people are looking to get into vinyl on a limited budget, this is the table to start with.

You can get some nice Polk speakers on Amazon for $100.another good affordable starter.

"Taylor Swift: The Whole Story" by Chas Newkey-Burden.

I got this book just for the pictures 'cause I thought it would be super basic writing with all the things I already knew, but I actually was surprised by it since it does a pretty decent coverage of her life up until the end of the Red era. Good reading! https://www.amazon.com/Taylor-Swift-Whole-Chas-Newkey-Burden/dp/0007544219

Yes, it was only available at Best Buy when it first came out. Seems the price has doubled since then, must be pretty rare. You aren't missing any special footage on the Bluray aside from watching the tour in 1080p glory.

It says something Cartier which is a jewelry brand..

Edit : it looks like this

Not sure what it could mean though

Second edit :
The book is about :

“Presents a meticulously selected overview of Cartier's contribution to 20th-century design and culture. Drawing extensively from the rich holdings of the Cartier Collection and Archive and the expertise of Cartier Heritage, it features not only a sumptuous array of rings, bracelets, necklace, and tiaras, but also cocktail and smoking accessories, mystery clocks, and lavish gifts exchanged by movie stars and maharajas, all created by Cartier's ateliers in Paris, London, and New York...”

We know she loves Elizabeth Taylor?

>Then remember that ever since “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” announced Red in 2012, the mission of the first single released ahead of any Taylor Swift album has been to disrupt and mislead: to disrupt whatever Swift doesn’t like about what’s been said about her since the previous album and to mislead the press and public that the album to come is a more radical departure than it will turn out to be. Of course Swift’s albums do differ from each other, as she develops as a writer and performer and adapts to changing styles. But ultimately they turn out to be collections of Taylor Swift songs, aka evocative details squeezed into catchy melodic cadences. The job of the lead single is to thrill or scare or outrage us by hinting that this time it’ll be something else.

This is probably the best write-up on the song I've seen so far. It celebrates what works about the song, acknowledges what really doesn't work about it without catastrophizing and then puts it all within the wider context of Taylor's career so far (and the pattern she has followed every release cycle). Give it a read if you can.

What? Red was the one who didn't get a concert video. Fearless has Journey to Fearless, Speak Now has Speak Now World Tour Live, and 1989 has 1989 World Tour (LIVE).

Unless you mean Red the music video on youtube, which is made of fragments of the Red Tour, in which case, yeah, all the 4 albums that had a major tour have had that video. Fearless has Fearless, Speak Now has Sparks Fly and 1989 has New Romantics

Bonus Fearless Platinum vinyl $15.00.

A whole bunch of records at Walmart are going on sale for $15. Amazon usually tries to price match. So if there's other artists you enjoy be on the look out!

Tried the Amazon UK store and it didn’t show up in the search at all. If it isn’t too much trouble, do you mind sharing a link? Thanks so much.

'Taylor Swift - This Is Our Song'

A huge, coffee table book loaded with interviews, articles, reviews, fan-opinions, and generally, lots of stuff related to her.

A biography from her early days in Nashville, all the way through to '1989'.

Its full OP/EDs, thinkpieces, articles, and interviews from all around.

If you can get past the price (Hefty Book, equally hefty price), I'd recommend it for all fans. It's a treasure trove of Swifty-Goodness.

For you Americans here's the link.

British Swifties (like me!) it's technically here but there's no word on release date yet. On an interesting side note though, Amazon UK appears to be sold out of CD copies.

I have it and I love it! It's fanmade but it's got a lot of older articles, interviews, pictures, etc. It's a big book, I haven't even finished mine yet.

Here it is on Amazon.
