Who buys a 16GB memory stick? They are like 2 dollars at CVS. Spend a 200$ and get a 1TB memory stick.

I'm not sure if it is the update or the new drive I bought but I have not had it fail for a week now. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01EZ0X55C?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title

Edit: As a test I plugged in my old USB drive that failed after everytime driving the car. I am on 42.3 and it is still working after almost 24 hours and multiple short trips around town. so it looks like they may have fixed the issue with the new update.

Model 3 doesn't have a glass break sensor, like a lot of cars unfortunately. I wonder if anyone has installed an aftermarket sensor. A quick google search isn't showing much..

I bought a rugged Samsung 128GB thumb drive for my TeslaCam which is designed to withstand "-25°C to 85°C operating, -40°C to 85°C non-operating". I've had zero issues in the 3 months I've had it, most of the time the car is sitting in an outdoor lot baking in the sun at 90ªF+ temps.

Hmm. I got this 64GB Samsung for $16 after my first drive died. Also paid $2 for this “insurance” option that Amazon offered, where if the drive fails you can send it somewhere and they’ll get the data off it for you and send that back on another (probably cheapo) thumb drive.

This one is supposed to be pretty rugged:
