Really, the only thing I recommend you have on hand at the delivery is the screen protector. I bought this one and have been happy with it.

You probably also want to have some sort of USB storage device for your dashcam/sentry mode. This could be a USB thumbdrive, SSD, Harddrive, or SD card (with adapter). As long as it has a decent amount of memory and a decent read/write speed and is USB. You'll need to format it FAT32 for the car to recognize it.

As for other accessories, most people on here choose to wrap their center consoles. It comes with a piano black finish which looks really nice but scratches and shows fingerprints really easily. I suggest the Kenriko center console wraps. They have tons of colors/finishes from matte black to white, to carbon fiber.

After that it is up to you. There are TONs of products that you can use to modify your Model 3. Personal favorites of mine so far are the extra door seals that keep out dirt and slightly reduce wind noise. The aluminum pedals are a really nice touch if you don't have a performance model. All-weather floor mats are really nice. I have the 3D MaxSpider ones but I've heard really good things about the Tuxmats. The wireless chargers for your phone are a good accessory as well.

The one I bought was this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MMWN73N/

I'm not sure if there is a standard for "the direction of polarization" (I've no idea what to call it) in lenses. But, this screen is fine. If I tilt my head at a very uncomfortable angle things get a little darker, but it's totally fine as I don't drive that way. A friend of mine has a different screen and when he put it on there he could barely see the screen with his sunglasses on. I'm not sure why this glass has that sort of treatment. Might just be a way that this type of glass aligns on a molecular level as there is no mentioning of such things. Maybe it's the anti-glare stuff to have light travel in a certain direction when hitting the screen.

Anyway... That one worked for me. It's on there. Though, again, I wonder why I did it. I suppose it is just added protection for that day you reach over to place a backpack, purse, or something that can scratch the screen and you so sadly drag it across the display. Just remember, close all the windows, turn off the fans, clean the screen and immediately put it on there so you don't trap any dust. I managed zero dust particles under it and no bubbles. Yay. There is a good method for lining it up as it comes with stickers to hold the screen protector in place as you remove the backing.

Good luck!

I posted this in /TeslaLounge but since relevant will post here too:

I wouldn't even use snow chains. When I got my TM3 the sales rep advised against them, recommended I get tire socks instead. Much easier to use, weigh next to nothing, and work just as well or better than chains. I have these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079M1PRDJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You can read an honest review here: https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2016/01/snow-traction-when-you-need-it/index.htm

My set came with gloves :)

Congrats, your car is gorgeous!!! I'm sure Telsa branded are amazing as well, but I too ordered mats on Amazon, and they are fantastic.

Mats: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MHTLHDL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Liners: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FN6X5QS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Console wrap (the piano black is nice, but I can't stand finger prints): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CZL8ZR5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also ordered weather strip from RPM Tesla, I do not recommend them.

I bought these. One of the best investment i did. It covers all the way out to door sill and looks like it's a part of the car.

Back seat mats are perfect as well. If you are looking to protect your door sill these are good.

I've used the kettle for the occasional cup of tea on road trips, but it's not something I would depend on for cooking.
I have a compressor fridge/freezer (-15º to 4º Celsius) running of 12v which is great for long trips. As long as you have sentry-mode on, the 12v outlet is active. It will shut off sentry when the battery is below 20% so you won't get stranded. You can get cheaper thermoelectric fridges that will cool you stuff to 20º below ambient. (They can also heat your food to armpit temperatures if you're into that kind of eating) They can be had for around $100.

Ah right, you reminded to make a post :) I will make it later but for everyone else that's reading:

PSA: All Tesla Wireless Charging Mats will only slow charge at 5W when plugged into the Front USB ports!!

  • Basically, you will *only* get fast charging (7.5W, 10W, 15W?) if you use a QC 3.0 adapter with your wireless charging pad

The only way to get QC 3.0 is to:

  • Grab a QC 3.0 battery pack and find one that has passthrough (Ive probably tried out 6 different packs and none have worked reliably), which leads me to:
  • Get a QC 3.0 port (or QC 3.0 power) into the center console by drilling holes or snaking a cable from the current 12V socket in the armrest compartment into the center console

I did find a couple that showed a very clean snake/cable hiding going from the armrest into the center console. It comes with a wireless charging mat, but I would rather much want just that 12V QC 3.0 adapter 😂😂

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VP3CTLC/

edit: this 3rd link shows how to snake the cable into the center console w/ no holes (it's as clean as you can get)

+1 for blower. Makes drying so easy. No swirl marks, and takes just 1~2 minutes.

Let's be honest, after a while and when the new car honeymoon is over, days of using ten clean towels to dry the car will be gone. :)

I have a Toro blower that goes for ~$70. Velocity of the air is pretty damn impressive.

I used that - worked great and looks awesome

EDIT: in addition to there being 2 cupholder pieces by default, there was a note in there that if you screwed part of it up to reach out and they could help you out :)

I have 2019.28.2 with the chess update, and release notes saying USB support for beach buggy. I bought these and they do not work. Not sure which controllers work:

2 Pack New SNES Super Controller, iNNEXT Retro USB Super Classic Controller for PC Mac Linux Raspberry Pi 3 Steam Sega Genesis Higan (Multicolored Keys)

u/pobody · 1 pointr/TeslaModel3

I like this one even better:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P2WT6B4

Has a slot that perfectly fits the J1772 adapter.

Cool! Here is what I bought.. ( you can probably find just the RPi0 board and heatsink for cheaper )

Vilros Raspberry Pi Zero W Basic Starter Kit- Black Case Edition-Includes Pi Zero W -Power Supply & Premium Black Case

u/kaw00sh · 2 pointsr/TeslaModel3

If you’re using the j1772 frequently, this center console organizer is great and fits the included adapter perfectly: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P2WT6B4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. The coin holder part is removable.

Had the shop that did my tint wrap it. Was going for this look: https://www.amazon.com/EV-Wraps-Tesla-Center-Console/dp/B07FZCPNR8/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=ev+wraps+tesla+model+3+center+console+wrap&qid=1564359292&s=automotive&sr=1-5

Thought about wrapping myself but since I was getting the tint done I decided to have them do it as well.

If you have USB flash drive that is constantly being written to that flash drive eventually is going to fail. Writing, writing a lot (which dashcams do) is exactly what wears flash drives out.

Instead, a longer lasting way to record dashcam and sentry video is to use endurance micro sd cards paired with a USB reader. The Samsung endurance micro SD card linked below is good for 17,520 hours of recording.

https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07B98GXQT

Put it inside a decent USB micro SD reader and you have a fairly reliable solution.
