So sorry to hear your libido isn't doing what you want. :(

I can't recommend enough the book Come As You Are which has a lot of warm and friendly but science-backed info for sex-related issues. It helped me start to think about my sex life differently, and I am slowly climbing out of a pit of no-sex-and-despair.

For a quick overview of some of the stuff in the book and her style, here's a link to the best of her blog.

The web comic Oh Joy Sex Toy (NSFW!) has both a review of the book and a guest comic from the woman herself. The guest comic is about one of the most useful things I found in the book, called the "Dual Control Model" of sexuality.

I hope any of that is useful! Big hugs and best of luck -- I hope things work out okay. :)

If you want a book that has a really good all around historical look at wonder woman I highly recommend picking up Wonder Woman: A Celebration of 75 years

I also personally love the Brian Azzarello's Wonder Woman Run in the new 52. It's also probably one of the most self contained titles in the new 52. The first volume is Wonder Woman Vol 1. Blood

There are two really great origin stories of wonder woman that I really love that are very current. The first (and my favorite of the two) is The legend of Wonder Woman. And the second is Wonder Woman: The True Amazon. The art in this one is fantastic.

Another great wonder woman story is Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia

I also really loved Sensation Comics featuring wonder Woman. I really love all of the different writers and artists takes on wonder woman.

Haha, yes it is, I am in the process of re-watching the series and just watched this one again a week or so ago and was reminded of it when I was deliberately bouncing around like a creep this morning (I was alone, just did it to entertain myself, hahaha).

This is the one I have! I think I somehow found it via r/ABraThatFits a few months back, and it has been on my "wishlist" for a while, and I finally bit the bullet because I got some new dresses with a scoop neck that all of my bras that fit me since I've gained weight are too full-coverage for. It's actually pretty inexpensive, the only con is that the company who makes it is from Latvia so it takes a couple weeks to get it. But so far, I'm in love! It even has wide straps, and that is a HUGE necessity for me because of my fibromyalgia (narrow straps+DD cup=OOOWWWWWW)

I was thinking of The Forest Ranger by Herbert Kaufman but those sound interesting too!

My dad retired as a (city) firefighter after 30+ years and he instilled a great respect in us for wildland firefighters. Thank you for your service!

u/Oatmeal_Addict · 7 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

I love these bras, super cute and the best support I've ever gotten.

u/JLFR · 2 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

I got this one. Crazy expensive, but OMG! SOOOOO comfy!!!! I like all the positions you can put it in compared to some of the other brands. It's also soft enough that it doesn't cause pressure points to form. It is big though. If you have an SO, you will need a kings size mattress to fit this pillow, you, and a second person. Again, worth it. Used to wake up barely able to move from hip and knee pain, and my arms would always be numb. Not any more :-)

Also, I got a memory foam mattress a few years ago, and that reduced my pain and fatigue by about half. Comfort Dreams from Overstock.com, and a metal memory foam specific frame on Amazon. I am sure it has paid for itself in all the pain meds I was able to reduce.

Good luck :-) and air hugs!

The people we know are actually 2 people, who we think they are and who they really are.

Much of the time, those things are fairly close, especially the more we get to know a person. Crushes and relationships can make things tricky though.

When we initially meet someone we click with, those initial clicks are aligning up with the kind of person we think we want. We match them to the ideal we have in our head. We all do this, especially when we are younger (you get old and a bit jaded like me, I think when I click with someone 'You seem ok, but what is your deal really?!'). The danger of crushing on someone is we don't really know them, just the desire of who we think they are. If you're very lucky the more you get to know them they will be good if not better than your hopes. Much of the time you might be slightly to moderately disappointed that the reality didn't live up to expectations. You unfortunately got very unlucky, that the person you hoped he was is nothing like who he really is, which is a fucked up person who probably needs professional help and most likely won't get it. Fortunately for you, you saw this and bugged out immediately. GOOD FOR YOU!!! Gold stars for you.

I know it sucks, I have been there, but you are lucky to get out and to get a chance to learn from this. When situations like this happen, it's a lesson in learning more of what you'd like in a partner, and what you don't want. The aspects you initially saw may not have been him in truth, but you can seek out similar qualities in other people. That dude might be the cheesiest of cheese dicks, but not all gents have dicks filled with cheese.

Fuck that fucking fuck, you better than that! I suggested this book in another thread in trollx, but you might want to read it. I think all young adults (and a few older adults) should read it. You did good though, you listened to yourself and your instincts and you got the fuck out. Be proud of that.

Details and links:

Just sent a box of 100 wire hangers to OH Gov Mike DeWine. This was a campaign that comes from back when Kasich was in office, and the bill was on his desk. He vetoed it. Unfortunately this time the bill is already signed, but DeWine still needs a dose of reality.

The hangers were $21.95 on Amazon.

I wiped out his address so I don’t get banned for doxxing, even though it’s publicly available. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Just search “Governor Mike DeWine office address” - it’s on the contact page at the bottom. Be sure to mark it as a gift so you can tell him how you feel! Sadly there’s a character limit - damn you, Amazon!

My gift message:

> Governor, I can’t safely carry to term due to a mental condition. Thanks for signing my death warrant, along with the rest of your vulnerable female constituents. Here’s a gift of our only remaining option. With love, (name and zip)

Have at it, folks! Especially you, Ohio constituents. Make your voice heard!

u/glaarghenstein · 17 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

YES! Just remember the good times were tricks to keep you around for the bad times! Definitely recommend reading Why Does He Do That? It's very illuminating and really helpful!

u/thelittlegnome · 1 pointr/TrollXChromosomes

My sister started using it because she had the same issue with dry shampoo making her hair look grey and dusty. She gets it from drug stores like Rite Aid, Walgreens, etc. Or places like Ulta and Target. I'm not sure where you live, but they have it on Amazon too:
Batiste "Beautiful Brunette"

Batiste "Dark & Deep Brown"

u/GherkinJerkin · 1 pointr/TrollXChromosomes

I've heard that harsh exfoliants create cuts and I've heard that the whole "cut" thing is a myth. I use St Ives Olive Oil Scrub for exfoliation. It's incredibly gentle and not at all abrasive.
If you can get Trention/Rentin-A from a doctor the stuff is miracle cream. If you can't then you could try looking up retinoids and BHA/AHAs.
Paula's Choice comes highly recommended for BHA's
Alpha Hydrox is a brand I really liked for BHAs!
A lot of acne treatments also double as wrinkle treatments, so I guess that's the only upside?

Factual information is never too much information at any age. A few book resources that could help follow:

It's Perfectly Normal

The Care and Keeping of You (there's also a second one)

This whole list with more

Also just keep in mind, honesty and accuracy are the most important things at this stage. If she's old enough to ask, she's old enough to be told at least some factual information about it. Obviously not explicit sexual stuff needed, but address anatomy, facts of reproduction, issues of consent, body image and body changes, etc. These are all appropriate when the child is already asking about things.

u/Jaded666 · 21 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

If you don't break up with him after this, at least turn your relationship into a social experiment and start recording his red flags. In future, you will have a long list of red flags that you can easily identify to recognize men who don't respect women. Be prepared for him to eventually try to control your life. ALWAYS have an exit strategy. And please no not move in with him.

I also suggest you please read this book. It was eye opening for me, and I would imagine you could learn a lot from it as well.

u/wimsy · 7 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

may I present to you the glass tentacle https://www.amazon.com/Icicles-Hand-Blown-Glass-Massager/dp/B003YIDYNU (on mobile, don't know how to link) mr. tentacle has been a great friend for the past 4 years.

u/wishiwasAyla · 13 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

oh girl... soft cup and reusable menstrual cups are not the same thing at all. if it's the price of the popular brands that's stopping you from getting the real deal, check out this one, which is the one i got and LOVE.

u/novembrr · 10 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

Read Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office. I'm reading it and it has some great advice about situations like this!

u/polkadotska · 6 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

I assume you're in the States? Do you have Batiste dry shampoo? The dark hair version is great, no dusty white powder and it helps cover my grey hair!

Astor Bidet Fresh Water Spray Non-Electric Mechanical Bidet Toilet Seat Attachment CB-1000 is only $27. I am sorry this happened to you though, it sounds wretched. Also 'clitty litter' is hilarious!

u/Bellyfluous · 1 pointr/TrollXChromosomes

Cheap bidet attachments can be added to toilets very easily and with a minimum of skill and tools.

Here's one such bidet: https://smile.amazon.com/Astor-Non-Electric-Mechanical-Attachment-CB-1000/dp/B003TPGPUW/

(that should be a non-referral link, I get nothing if you click it and decide to buy)

The main downside to the cheap bidet attachments is that they only shoot cold water up in your nether regions.

But they are a godsend if you have messy poops that normally require 50 wipes.

Also, close the lid when you flush, people! By doing so, you're reducing the spray of contaminated poop particles onto exposed things like your toothbrush, washcloth or glasses.

u/KosherDill · 1 pointr/TrollXChromosomes

Mine too. I also want to get him/her an informational book so that we they can also look through and think about it on their own time. My mom had "the talk" with me but I really enjoyed reading puberty type books and referring back to it if I had any questions I was still too embarrassed to ask my mom. We also didn't have the internet but I don't think I want my child referring to Dr. Google for sexual and reproductive questions.

Something like this

u/Erosthete · 3 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

He's calling it a "mode" because it makes it sound like he's not in control of it. HE IS. He's making his mental comfort more important than your emotions. It's not okay.
https://www.amazon.com/Why-Does-He-That-Controlling/dp/0425191656/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1482705423&sr=1-1&keywords=why+does+he+do+that

u/attigirb · 8 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

I read a historical fiction book about this last year and it was great! Here's the book: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XTQ4YD1/ref=oh_aui_d_asin_title_o05_?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/grace_c · 1 pointr/TrollXChromosomes

Although this is a satire, it's actually so true.

For any woman wanting to climb the ladder in their professional field, I highly recommend Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office by Dr Lois P Frankel

It highlights "Unconscious Mistakes Women Make That Sabotage Their Careers" and it's a really enlightening read

It helps you to be really self-aware of how you conduct yourself in the workplace, what some of the secrets are to succeeding professionally (hint: it's not bringing brownies to the office), and so so much more, I could go on forever.

Seriously. Changed my life.

u/HakeemAbdullah · 1 pointr/TrollXChromosomes

The new Wonder Woman Rebirth comic has been great.

Also I reccomend Azarello's run on Wonder Woman (these ones: https://www.amazon.com/Wonder-Woman-Vol-Blood-New/dp/140123562X)

u/scarlettenoir · 2 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

Here's a link to the exact one I got from Amazon :)

u/LoudMusic · 0 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

Oh it's not that they're pink. It's that they're advertised as being pink for women and that it will make you pretty while you sleep.

They're ear plugs. It's like the damn Bic pens for women.

u/DoomTurtleSaysDoom · 8 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

Yes! I've been working my way through Come as You Are by Emily Nagoski and it covers this. There's just so much basic biological information that I never knew.

u/JorjMcKie · 15 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

A whopping $25 investment. It will pay for itself in saved toilet paper in under a year, people.

u/pound657 · 2 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

I would take my happy ass to the house.
Sit down at my desk, take out my stationery, my lovely pen and write that angry letter!

GIVE EM THE WHAT FOR!

u/avelaera · 4 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

I highly recommend "Why Does He Do That?" by Lundy Bancroft. It is excellent for anyone currently in or just out of an abusive relationship.

u/mustard_mustache · 95 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

Yup. They're a real thing. You should check out the Amazon reviews for them. They're hilarious.

u/WhateverWasIThinking · 18 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

In /r/relationships they often recommend the book 'The gift of fear'. https://www.amazon.com/Gift-Fear-Survival-Signals-Violence/dp/0440226198

It's a general book on the subject of safety but it really touches on the signals we tend to ignore as women under the guise of politeness.
