I just bought this.

Got the backup cam mounted under the mid-ship turn signal (new cascadia). It works pretty well during the day by headlights wash it out at night. Better than nothing.

Iowa80 sells a 3 cam system for like $600 that looked good, with an 8" screen

>Still deciding what to get/install for my "Nighttime in BFE" high-tied daylight on demand. Any recommendations?

>Morimoto

To be completely honest, I'm a fan of "Morimoto" or retrofitted projectors, but to be fair, some vehicles do indeed have extremely poor lighting and a retrofitted projector is at least likely to work better than dropping a LED bulb into a random halogen housing. The company behind "Morimoto" does pretty shady stuff, such as circumventing customs officials at ports to import and sell illegal drop-in HID kits, which are 100% not recommended. Projector retrofits are at least somewhat better than dropping in a HID in a halogen headlamp.

The people behind Morimoto have gone great lengths to deceive customs officials, from mislabeling boxes to stamping illegitimate DOT/SAE logos on their products, to even creating a Japanese-sounding brand name (Morimoto) to get away with their shit. They'd be less likely to get away if they chose something obviously Chinese-sounding, like Ching Ching Chong Chong Headlights. But Morimoto? Sounds like, idk, Koito--a legitimate Japanese supplier of lighting products. Sounds like a real brand! And the holographic labels that scream MORIMOTO just seal the deal!

In my opinion, the hierarchy of lighting (with respect to glare and seeing distance) goes like this:

Dropping HID kits into halogen headlamps <<<<<<< dropping LED kits into halogen headlamps <<<< retrofitting HID projectors << installing high-performance halogen < converting to 9012/9011 or H9, where possible < upgrading to OEM LED/HID assemblies.

In a few years, I expect there to be legitimate, high-performance LED bulbs that you can drop into halogen headlamps, but that day is not today. There are standards being worked on to enable valid retrofit LED bulbs. And once those standards are finalized, you'll be able to purchase standards compliant bulbs. As of today, however, no LED bulb works universally. There are some that will work with certain housings acceptably, but none that work universally.

Elon mentioned before that they were doing some sorts of uphill climbs with a semi prototype. I think it was sometime in the Spring of this year.

You mentioned earlier that he is a salesman, and while he is the CEO of huge companies, you have to remember this guy has University degrees in physics and engineering. He got his hands dirty while working at Tesla and SpaceX when both companies were still young.

Judging from your comments you're more of a Tesla fan than a Musk fan, but I highly recommend reading his book. There are tons of things to learn about him and how he conducts business for the good and bad parts. I got it last year for Black Friday at a discount and since that is coming up, it might be a good option for some Christmas reading if you like that.

Pricey but it I like it. You only have to wipe down the filter to clean it. It's kind of noisy when the truck is off but I like it that way. The more white noise in the cab, the better for sleeping at night.

sure they are. or at least fans with any mm range that run on 12v will also probably have 12v in their name.

anyhow, amazon 12v fan and that should give plenty of options. I'd recommend one of those computer fans. Not the one that plugs in to the 12v outlet lol.

I've had one of these on my coleman for a while. It sometimes decides to be a freezer. And haven't had any issues with lost appendages from putting hand in fan since I stuck the fridge into the right bottom compartment on the cascadia.

Earlier this summer I got a pair of these earmuffs coupled with this bluetooth adapter. They seem to work pretty well together. I use it quite a bit in the shop and while running equipment. They have good noise reduction, decent audio quality, and I can pair it with my phone or laptop and listen to whatever I want.

Phone is probably the cheapest option if you don't want to opt for a some kind of a standalone screen.

I was thinking something DIY like this + this, but here's something else that looks like it combines both of those and could be a good option.

Worrying a bit about his health is your job. That’s ok.

Probably put together a 3 day shelf stable thing like I said.

For meals on the road, just make extra dinner and pack him 2 meals of leftovers in a cooler. Vary it up with some sandwiches and stuff. And get him a 12v food warmer and some tin foil loaf pans and a sheet of foil as a lid to warm the food in.

I use this. Takes about 45 minutes to warm up food. I add a little water so it doesn’t dry out.

Study, I dunno. I like to listen to books about nuclear science, nuclear power, weapons, accidents and the like while I'm driving. I don't do many fiction books.

While it may not be studying, learning about the world around you can help expand your mind and keep it active while you're focusing on the road. I've listened to these books a few times over by now.

I work nights and a good headlamp is a mandatory item for me. My personal favorite is this one

STEELMAN PRO 78834 250-Lumen LED Slim Profile Rechargeable Motion Activated Hands-free Headlamp https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CK427ZY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_jGZi8CdinybkK

Instead of just lighting up a spot in front of me it lights up my entire field of vision. Whether I'm walking through tank batteries, running the vac trailer, or crawling underneath the truck to adjust breaks I can always see everything.
