It's pretty thin and easy-going so could complement quite well whichever book on the monarchy you end up reading.
Well if you’re willing to put in some serious reading time, Churchill’s History of the English Speaking Peoples covers them all, and then some. There’s an abridgement of the four volumes, and they’re individually available as audiobooks too (which I used). They were deemed worthy of a Nobel Prize for Literature, so they’re worth the effort.

ignoring the for dummies label, its a pretty well written book by a good author who really knows his stuff.
