The catalog number is a good place to start, and you'll need to grade the record accurately using the Goldmine Standard. Catalog number and grade are the two essential pieces of information.

Discogs is a good buying-selling marketplace and great for cataloging collections, but I haven't found it useful for assessing the value of records. Many are marked way up with a "make offer" option, or just overpriced. It can also be confusing because the value of seemingly identical releases can vary widely.
If you want to value fairly and accurately, I would recommend getting a Goldmine price guide.

That's the one I went with, may be a little larger than I needed for this specific application. It works well and I can use it for other things when it's not acting as part of a RCM. :)

One of the first replies first mentioned the Squeaky Clean on this thread and has a link to a less costly and probably better space wise vac. :)

[edit] added link. And wanted to mention I bought this exact one from amazon and it’s a great listen with very minimal skips. A lot of reviewers on amazon must be new to vinyl or have a basic setup. With some weight adjustment on your arm, it should play flawlessly.

This cleaning works fantastic for 99%of my records. I can clean a record in 3 minutes. For dirtier records I let them sit in the solution for 5-10 minutes. Stubborn dirt is spot treated with a soft toothbrush.

Feel free to look at your local goodwill and record store. Always come up on cheap stuff there. Crosley is fine for what it is I guess but you'll notice a big big difference using a real turntable

Honestly, I understand you went from Discogs prices but for some of these they have not even sold out in store yet and you are listing it for whatever anyone on Discogs has. Also, a lot of these you did not state the pressings like why is the Led Zeppelin IV LP listed so expensive? Or why beastie boys record is 50$?

No one will give you the same price as a new record because they are "almost new" or "only played once"it is just not the way things work. Not trying to be a dick but help you out for a future post so you don't get called out like people here did to you.

No promises but Amazon is allegedly getting a bunch of copies of The Crow that weren’t shipped to stores. You can place an order but the shipping date is pretty far out.

I have this cheap knock off from Amazon and it works great for me. Cleans the records. I fill the bay with distilled water and put some record cleaning solution on the pads.
