I haven't decided whether I'll wear or keep it yet, since we might have a super casual ceremony. I also am drawn to vintage and nontraditional dresses, but I thought I'd share.

I just bought this because I was curious! The photos used on the Amazon page are stolen from a real designer (sorry, real designer, I forget your name). I used Google Images to find the original post.

The quality seems comparable to the similar dresses I tried at David's Bridal. The fabric was heavy (in a good way) and the construction seems solid. The straps are a bit long and there's a bit too much room in the bust for me, so that would need alterations.

Ultimately, I'm pretty impressed.

Note, I skipped holes while lacing the corset (was taking too long) and tied the corset myself so it's pretty messily done.

ETA: I ordered a size 6, which fits me well in the waist. I ordered that because it's one of the only Prime eligible ones and I didn't want to risk not being able to return it or pay for shipping. I'm not sure if the size 4 would be better in the bust. I have a 27" waist and am 5' 8". The length is perfect for me too, which you can't really tell in the photos (slightly long in bare feet).

I want to echo the comments about looking into a ring adjuster (the name for those clear silicone/rubber bands, which are removable) or ring guard (the name for a metal piece that is soldered on to make the ring smaller).

One thing to remember is that diamond wedding and engagement rings don't actually keep their resale value very well (with the exception of big name brands like Tiffany's and Cartier). I'm sure many divorced women who have pawned their wedding rings can corroborate. While gold and diamonds definitely maintain some value over time, they don't really appreciate value. So if your grandmother paid 1,200 a while ago, it's not necessarily true that this ring will be worth much more than that now. This isn't to discount the generosity of the gift, it's just something to keep in mind, especially if you're going to be investing money that you can't really afford into resizing it.

Bonus: if you're looking for an everyday ring for you and/or your fiancee, my husband has this $20 tungsten ring from Amazon and he likes it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010UPPXMY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It looks a lot more expensive than $20.

Wedding DJ here. Many of my potential clients consider going without a DJ for their wedding because of the cost. These are my recommendations to them:

  • Spotify is a great tool. Consider getting the algoriddim djay app for iPhone or iPad. This lets you play music downloaded to your phone and from Spotify. You can set it to Automix and get that seamless transition from one song to the next you expect from DJs. Spotify Premium is required, and you won't have ads. WiFi is required when using Spotify so put the "must have" songs on your device just in case.
  • Get a quality speaker. Sam's Club and Amazon have several that are less than $200. The best part is you get to keep it when you are finished! Connect directly with a cord - do not use bluetooth. Get a speaker stand and raise it 5-6ft off the ground. This helps propagate the sound and you'll get excellent performance from even one speaker.
  • Get a wired mic for announcements and toasts. Your speaker should have a 1/4" mic input. You can get a Shure SM58 for $40 on Amazon that sounds amazing and is what I use in my booth. You'll need a female XLR to male 1/4" cable. If you have any doubts visit a Guitar Center and they will hook you up.

I use my iPad and the algoriddim djay app with Spotify when I get an obscure request that I don't have in my main library. I also use the app in my smaller ceremony music setup. The app is solid and will not let you down!

Let me know if you (or anyone else) has any questions on how to set these up. I also have a music ideas list if you need some inspiration during the music planning process.

here it is!

I posted a pic of it but people didn’t love it, which I agreed with. I love the top but the material felt much more delicate and idk, cheap? Maybe?

Something like this may work if it's only a small size difference. https://smile.amazon.com/Adjuster-Invisible-Transparent-Silicone-Tightener/dp/B07G5Z9X4G/

Amazon has a ton of nice looking tungsten and titanium rings for super cheap. I can share some of the ones on my list if you'd like.

Have you tried Amazon? I'm 36DDD and bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NN6VIN6/ It doesn't have the BEST support but maybe if you fashion tape it it would stay better. At the pricepoint it's worth a shot, and Amazon returns are very easy!

I did the same exact thing and I'm in love with this same darn dress (arggh you Oleg!!) but cant deal with the price tag. I'm thinking of trying this one on Amazon that is similar and has good reviews and pictures.. its scary though and I love the Oleg!!

I suggest you get a copy of

https://www.amazon.com/Practical-Wedding-Planner-Step-Step-ebook/dp/B012271KZW

It will help guide you through the process of setting a budget, determining your wedding style and setting the guest list.

Like everything else in life,we don't all get what we want when it comes to wedding planning. We have to prioritize. If a huge guest list is more important, you can cut back on the type of reception or the venue. Is the large family, people you see and care about,or "obligatory guests" your parents want? There are many questions to answer when planning a wedding.

I bought 2 from Amazon and one of them was terrible, it was so cheap and ugly and I'm trying right now to get a refund once I can get a chance to take some good photos of it to prove my point.

The second one was almost half the price of the second and is amazing! It's true to your dress size and is gorgeous for the price. Mine cost $79:

I've been asked to be a bridesmaid twice, and they've both been boxes! I decided to do boxes because I'm out of state and I'll be giving them along with Christmas presents. IMO boxes are also fun to open! You can handwrite a cheesy "proposal" line on the lid and decorate it however you want!

The boxes are fairly cheap to make! I found a set of 12 boxes on Amazon for $10, and I bought some crinkle paper at Hobby Lobby for filler.

The prices went up on some, watch for coupons! They will offer like 10-20% off the more you order from their store
also, I loaded $100 to my amazon acct and got $10 free.

I really had to hunt for that one as well! I wear a 16/18 US and the X-LG felt really comfortable on me. Here is the link https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P6X58QM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I honestly went to estate sales for a few months and found old ones, got a few and then found some cheap ones here.

Rago is really good, I use What Katie Did also but I think for what you're looking for something like this will work: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001O23AXM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
