I think its easiest when you commit in stages. I'm on like, my 4th stage right now.

Stage 1. Swapping snacks. I still binge eat every once in a while, but it's like, a bag of clementines or 5 lbs of grapes, or a bag of baby carrots. It will hurt to eat more before you have probably more than 500 calories that way. Also got a 1 liter yeti around this time, I drink 5-7 liters a day now. Replaced snacking motion with drinking motion. Definately get the straw top.

Stage 2. Swapping carb to veggie ratio. Dont not eat carbs, just actively try to eat however many carbs (volume) as veggies, and vice versa. I was eating lots of rice and potatoes, I switched it to quinoa and cauliflower. Also I could still have sugary snacks, but only if I made them. So no more little Debbie, let's sit and eat the box, you can make a batch of double chocolate banana bread muffins and have those (triple hack because they are tasty, more filling, and you have to actually bake things instead of just buying whatever).

Stage 3: (stage 2 is all at home) start packing a protein bar in your purse or car when you are running around. They keep well and if hangry hits while out you can eat that instead of grabbing fast food. Also pack lunch from foods you made at home that are healthier. This is where I started using MFP (MyFitnessPal) you put in your stats and it gives you a maintenance calorie goal, then one for losing weight. It recommends 1 lb per week. It's nice because you can see how on track you are way before you see results, but you do need to remember to log your foods and drinks.

Stage 4: this is where I started to add exercise. Log them in MFP so you dont wear yourself out, it will adjust your needed calories automatically. I'm probably over doing the exercise part tbh, I have a 30 day ab app (female flat stomach workout) which is free, it's been 7-15 min of guided exercise with rest breaks. I'm also doing a 30 day guided program through amazon prime (included) called 30 day yoga for weight loss (https://www.amazon.com/Day-15-Standing-Balance-Challenge/dp/B07LBBZZBR/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=30+day+yoga+for+weight+loss&qid=1570286802&s=instant-video&sprefix=30+day+yoga+&sr=1-1). I do those 2 at night after work (ab then yoga) then in the mornings I do yoga for beginners mostly to stretch out because I get scrunchy in the morning. The exercise before bed has helped me sleep a lot better, which has also helped with food control. Maybe add one of the 3 exercise things I do and go from there.

I dont think you need to do them in that order really and you can break them into smaller steps. I'm very on or off kind of person so moderation and rest days are hard for me. Once you start to add exercise r/fitness is a good place to grab stuff. They have a wiki with good routines, have a weekly question thread, and focus more on exercise, whereas I feel like here we mostly focus on food.

These:

Natural Feelings High Waisted Leggings for Women Ultra Soft Stretch Opaque Slim Yoga Leggings One Size & Plus Size https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TF6JY3P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_LYA1DbG7W4062

They seem to be sold out of the 7-pack deal right now in “one size”, but they’re honestly the softest and most comfortable yoga pants I’ve EVER owned.

New York and Co. makes some stretch/yoga pants that look like professional slacks as well, just go to their website!!! You could absolutely pull those off, and they often have BOGO sales. The name of the game for you at this point is inexpensive and stretchy, regardless of what you pick.

You don't have to get anything expensive. When I read about it I was super skeptical that it would help with cravings. I bought this one from Amazon like a year ago https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072YHM6S2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_hk13Cb7X0RYVB

Your body produces probiotics already but if you're depleted. You tend to have bad digestive system. you want something that has the prebiotic part. These capsules we're great for me because I haven't even used all of them. Once you cut the junk food out your body does a pretty good job of regulating the bacteria. I realize I'm getting down voted for my previous comment but this really helped me when I changed my diet. It's not a silver bullet but it helped me it could help others.

Meh, maybe it works, maybe not. Probably depends on the individual.

If you fill your bowl with the same thing, you are probably still going to finish it whether it is a fork or chopsticks.

For reusable chopsticks I like the Goldage brand and they have lasted, they have a bunch of different styles, for example I like these, but search a pattern you like. At the very least you find it fun, so sounds like worth it to try it out.

Super fancy juices aren't healthy either.

Water infused with fruit... lemon, lime, orange slices. Cucumber & mint is good. Ginger infused water. Basically take your sweet tea pitcher, fill it with water and add a couple slices of fruit or cucumber & mint.

Other option is tea made from hibiscus flowers, citrus rinds, herbs, spices, etc.

I really like this and don't sweeten it at all: https://www.amazon.com/China-Mist-Brew-at-Home-Passion-Package/dp/B00D8XAJ48?th=1

Turkey Sausage Egg Muffin

Update from: https://redd.it/2lrnqr - Veggie Burger Egg Muffin

I'm a big fan of the McDonald's Sausage McMuffin with egg. And at 450 calories, I'd still eat one in an emergency. But it has 28 grams of fat and when you're eating on a calorie budget, you cut where you can. So here's my version -- I have it 5 days a week:

Ingredients:

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil, just a drop to keep the egg from sticking to the pan
  • Fat Free Sharp Cheddar Cheese, 1 wrapped slice
  • Grade A Large Egg, White, 1 egg (poached with yoke broken)
  • Light or Multigrain English Muffin, 1 muffin
  • Turkey Sausage, 2 oz. patty link:https://redd.it/3za32h

Pictures: http://imgur.com/a/k3Ja1 (pictured with Morningstar's veggie patty, which I was using earlier)

If you like this, invest in one of these: http://www.geekalerts.com/egg-and-muffin-2-slice-toaster-and-egg-poacher/ Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/West-Bend-TEM500W-Muffin-Toaster/dp/B008YNFB3Q/

You can make this with an egg poacher or a egg ring to keep the egg the size of the English Muffin. Assemble any way you'd like. Add black pepper to taste.

    Breakfast|Calories|Carbs|Fat|Protein
    ---|---|---|---|---

Um, I have 2 pieces of advice for you. The first one was given to me by a doctor. They said this is the simplest way to lose weight. Every time you eat, fill half your plate with produce (veggies or fruit) and eat that first. It doesn't matter what you put on the other side of your plate, do this and you will lose weight. I do a lot more snacking/grazing than full meals so i interpreted this as "whatever you want to eat, easy the same mass in produce first." Wanted some cookies? Eat an apple or banana first. Want some trail mix, start with a big spinach salad. Want a mocha? Better have a big cup of veggie soup first. I started doing it and lost about 20 lbs. With no exercise.

The second piece of advice is about motivation. For many of us, motivation is like a unicorn - impossible to find, and the mysterious magical answer. But there are ways to hack your brain and learn how to change habits without motivation. I highly recommend studying this book: https://www.amazon.com/Change-Anything-Science-Personal-Success/dp/0446573906. It has excellent suggestions.

I have this one.

I was surprised when I saw smart scales are that cheap. I thought they were closer to $100.

Yes - and you’re not alone!

Overeating, binge eating, binge drinking - I’ve done it all. I suggest you look up a chapter of OA (overeaters anonymous) in your city. It changed my life! If you’re skeptical about it, you can read this book on the 12 steps to recovery: The Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Overeaters Anonymous, Second Edition https://www.amazon.com/Twelve-Steps-Traditions-Overeaters-Second-ebook/dp/B07BJ7FBF3

It’s based on the same format as AA/NA, but adapted for over eaters.

Hope this helps you!

My best weight loss was when I wasn’t drinking. I am indulging now and weight loss is very stagnant. Been stuck around 202-205 for some time now. When I wasn’t drinking I read this book that talks to your subconscious. It was very interesting and I would highly encourage you to read it if you plan to give up alcohol.

I got an "amazon basics" food scale. You put any size bowl/dish on it, hit tare and see how many oz, grams, etc.

It's very easy to use, takes two AAA batteries.

It's this one: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Stainless-Digital-Batteries-Included/dp/B06X9NQ8GX

This is what the people at my gym use. Considered buying it for myself. But there are also plenty of options for scales on Amazon that do something similar.

https://www.amazon.com/Good-Sugar-Bad-yourself-addiction/dp/1784282391. Processed sugar and processed carb addiction is a real thing. It makes you do stuff and eat stuff which are not good for you ,but you can't stop , even if you are aware of the negative effects. Like with every addiction, it is not your fault, you fell into a trap. Allen Carr saved my life, I can only reccomend his books/seminars.

How are you measuring the calorie count?

If your not using a food scale and weighing EVERYTHING you eat (every single bite, lick, sip, etc...) then you are likely eating more than you think. Measuring cups are not accurate and estimating portion sizes is worse.

Here is a video that shows how inaccurate measuring cups can be...

Ah right ok. Could you get a pedal exerciser? I have one and I can “cycle” at my pace in front of the tv. I have hypermobility spectrum disorder and it helps to keep me moving when I’m having a bad pain day as long as it’s not my knees or ankles obviously

Something like this?
