I used to teach violin but im in the other end of the city from you now.

If you can, try to have someone that can properly put some tape on the neck like the following picture. "A" is your 1st finger, "B" is 2nd, ..... There is also some full piece stickers that they sometimes sell that helps a lot and act like Fret indicators as there are no visible Frets on the violin.

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eZW2vaRFu88/Tk-eCzelbII/AAAAAAAAAXk/Wjn-MgAzsjk/s1600/g+string+notes.jpg

If you know your notes, the following will also help. The grey lines would be the locations of the tapes in the previous image.

http://takelessons.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/violin-chart-three.jpg

Although this image is just the G major scale, Each measure is 1 string starting on the the G string (the biggest string), being played open (just play the string with no fingers down), then the 1st fingers, and so on... The next measure is on the D string, then A string and finally the E string.

I would say that most music schools are pretty good, I would suggest at least 2- 4 classes just to get the proper hold of the violin and bow down pat and get a proper feel.

If you feel confident for self learning, then that would be a good start. Make sure you have a tuner too.

you will never believe me. I was so doubting this thing, but my goodness it does the job well, better oars soon, and this is after 5 evening trips and yes even the boat scraping things, and going from Henderson to Pembina and than back.

Figured it to be a cheap way of seeing if I'd truly enjoy this, I'm now already saving for a real one next summer.

higher cbd strain "high" largely behaves like a muscle relaxant with a mellow effect. How you roll cannabis cigarettes also has a rather significant effect on how well the effects will work. If you just rolled a zig zag rolling paper shorty the smoke will be much stronger due to being closer to your face and unpleasant which can ruin or reduce the effect and make the smoking experience also unenjoyable.

Personally i solved the by not rolling joints with my fingers and buying a proper rolling kit with 110 mm hemp papers and cigarette rolling tips. Much like smoking from a water bong a longer cigarette smoked similar to how one would smoke a fine cigar the smoke is cooler and doesn't burn your throat until you get to the last inch. I've been a weed smoker for perhaps twenty or thirty years and hand rolled "smokes" cannot compare to a smoke rolled with a purpose made utensil.

Take small puffs and don't hurl on it like tobacco. cannabis smoking is more effective and pleasant when not smoked like a tobacco cigarette and rather more like a cigar. small puffs, roll the smoke mix and inhale with fresh air so the smoke doesn't burn. Directly inhaling cannabis smoke without cooling smoke before inhaling fresh air to dilute the cannabis smoke will make even the most seasoned cannabis smoker just exhale largely wasting the benefits of it all.

The equipment or kit you use to roll or smoke with can also greatly improve or ruin the enjoyment and experience. after switching to rolling with that raw brand smoke roller and 110 mm papers (standard rolling papers like zigzag whites are around the length of a regular sized cigarette without the filter tip) the difference compared to using shorty fingertip rolling papers from the corner store was worlds apart.

Smoking a king size tobacco cigarette just makes me feel ill but a 110 mm king size cannabis cigarette rolled in hemp paper doesn't make want to vomit or instantly cough.

One other tip again also involves preparation before rolling. Pickup a small electric coffee bean grinder from a kitchen supply store. makes quick work of bud mashing and the consistency always turns out similar to tobacco which greatly improves smoking quality and enjoyment.

I bought some in 2010 from here- http://theworldsbestfruit.com/pages/buynow.html

I thought their prices were pretty good ($15 for a jumbo box), and they will send you 1 tablet to sample for around $3 american. I think they even had a Winnipeg office at the time, but I can't find any evidence that it's still running.

http://www.miraclefruit.ca/products/miracle-fruit-tablets/ is Canadian, but seems to be out of stock.

Sage Garden will sell you the actual plant, but they are extremely finicky (EDIT: the plant, not the store owners). http://www.herbs.mb.ca/en/on-line-shopping/c378145981/miracle_fruit_lg.html

http://www.miracleberrycafe.com/buy_miracle_fruit_berry_tablets.html also sells them for slightly cheaper shipping than World's Best Fruit.

Amazon- different shipping options. http://www.amazon.ca/Miracle-Frooties-Tablets-600mg-Strength/dp/B004US0Z3K

http://www.amazon.ca/Miracle-Frooties-LIMITED-Original-5xStrength/dp/B004SI0PVY

I'd recommend eating the whole large tablet to make sure it's effective. It tastes like weird cardboard, and you have to let it slowly dissolve on your tongue and not bite or swish it around your mouth. It's kind of gross. Then for around up to 30 minutes, you will have your mind blown. Lemons, limes, grapefruit, lemon juice, goat cheese, dill pickles, sour candies, all that stuff will become nectar of the gods. Don't forget to pop a couple of Tums before you start stuffing your face with heartburn-inducing food.

I think they're only good for 2 years, but mine are around 4 years old and still work.

most pet stores are similiar in price and supply choice. Pet Value tends to be a bit higher, but otherwise all the box stores are around the same. Costco is great for larger dog beds. Amazon is truly your best bet for most pet supplies, especially poop bags. I bout these two years ago, have two dogs and am maybe half way through them.

Something like this is probably fine https://www.amazon.ca/Laimante-Waterproof-Controller-Decorative-Lighting/dp/B07C92H7RG

I wouldn't worry about too much about tubing or any kind of water proofing. Winters are pretty dry. The cold might be an issue for cracking, but ideally if you put them up before its too cold, then don't move them till its warm, they should be fine.

I would maybe see about keeping the plug someplace under some shelter. Like an extension cord to a deck if you don't have an outlet there.

Then maybe some waterproof connectors, or some tight heat shrink, maybe just some tape.

Nice thing about led rolls is they're pretty cheap. I got 10M For less than $10 on aliexpress. Now the time to replace it if something goes wrong is a whole different issues.

Hey, you seem very knowledgeable. Would this be a good test kit?

https://www.amazon.ca/Luster-Leaf-1601-Rapitest-Soil/dp/B0000DI845/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1524508048&sr=8-2&keywords=lawn+test+kit

Also, I moved into a new house last fall. The grass in the front yard has some bald spots that I would like to try and remedy. When is the best time to hit this with fresh soil and grass seed? When is the best time to fertilize? Also, how to you pick which grass seed to buy? Thanks for any help with this.

Well; honestly; good luck.

Powerpivot / Power BI is a pretty new thing; it's undergone so much change in the last 2-3 years; I strongly doubt you'll find much as far as decent resources.

For Access:
http://www.crwsystems.mb.ca/ MIGHT be willing to recommend someone;

Red river teaches courses: http://me.rrc.mb.ca/catalogue/Course.aspx?RegionCode=PC&ProgCode=COMTP-NA&CourseCode=COMP-9048

If you honestly expect you can learn Access in an hour; just grab a decent book on whatever version you are stuck using; and go from there:

If they liked the perplexus, get the child a Snap Circuit Jr. Its a great learning tool for electronics and circuits, but also a ton of fun to build things along the way. Comes with instructions for like 80+ different mini games etc.

https://www.amazon.ca/Elenco-Snap-Circuits-Jr-SC-100/dp/B00008BFZH

You can also add onto the kit later if they enjoy it.

If you are actually going to ride a fair bit, consider one of the kryptonite chain locks (eg https://www.amazon.ca/Kryptonite-KryptoLok-Integrated-Bicycle-37-5-Inch/dp/B006QN0O1K/ref=sr_1_11?keywords=kryptonite+chain+lock&qid=1556923808&s=gateway&sr=8-11). The U-locks are really limiting in what you can get them around. With the chain lock you can get around a lot more stuff with just one lock. They aren't their highest rated locks, but would stand up to more than a cheap u-lock or other chain. For me they are a good compromise.

Aside from that, lock up next to an easier target. Unless you have a really nice bike (then leave it at home), the thieves are not all that discerning.

I picked up this one on a reddit recommendation [link]. It was about $40 at the time and took over 2 months to arrive, I ended up getting the credit back (notice how it doesn't ship to Winnipeg anymore). I think it's pretty good, night mode is 50/50 and I have to manually unplug it because it won't turn off automatically. Of course it was "free" so I don't really mind.

u/jaydengreenwood · 1 pointr/Winnipeg

For the other side, a ex-BBC science correspondent wrote this book: https://www.amazon.ca/Good-News-About-Booze/dp/0956656145/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1540871899&sr=8-1&keywords=the+good+news+about+booze

It's quite good, the TL;DR is the links with cancer aren't as certain as they are made out to be. There are also cardiovascular benefits that can't be ignored as well. Some booze is better than others, e.g. red wine is good for you in moderation.

this is the most used gc to switch/pc adapter next to the nintendo official ones. very cheap and work great, i have bought two.

I used this dash cam for about 2 years before it finally stopped working. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00FONBG1A?pc_redir=T1

Honestly the heat impacted it more than the cold. The case would get very soft so it wouldn't sit well in its clip. Never had a single problem in the cold, and it being a cheap camera probably says good things about their resilience in the cold.
