I don't have a setup for travel yet. Thought I do have one of these cool rolling carts! And one of these rolling carts, too. I got them to carry my supplies and wares for craft sales, but haven't used them in a while (and i don't remember them being that expensive, maybe they were on sale...). Super handy though.

Though, the couple of times I've had to take a small amount of wire and tools with me somewhere, I've just put tools in one gallon sized ziplock bag, and the wire in another, then tossed them into a bigger cloth bag to carry.

Here's what my crafting wall looks like at the moment. It's in disarray, but better than it was! :) The pegboard was going to be thrown out at work, so I saved it. There is a lot of space that I could use that is covered up by the desk, but I didn't want to cover up the window. And yes, there's a makeshift cat bed on the top shelf. I knew I wouldn't be able to make the shelves without her having something to lie on, because she would have climbed up there and just knocked everything off anyway. the shelving is made out of this modular shelving stuff, but with zip ties not the connectors it comes with.

This is just the stuff I use regularly. I have a whole room full of supplies I either bought myself or inherited from my mom.

Its not a permanent solution, especially if the jewelry is fondled often, as the oils from skin can wear it away, but I use this product called protectaclear on finished pieces and it works great. It gives the jewelry a nice luster and keeps the copper from turning peoples skin green. On rings i would say it lasts a good 3 months, and on necklaces.. significantly longer, again, if its not something you hold and rub. https://amzn.com/B0186N6ZVK

Beautiful piece BTW

Pliers - a few different kinds. I recommend this set ( http://www.amazon.com/Beadalon-7-Piece-Tool-Pouch-Econo/dp/B00164SF6U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1411796023&sr=8-1&keywords=jewelry+making+tools ).

Flush Cut Pliers (Wire cutters): These are the most important ones, as they are for snippin' your wires. They're kind of a big deal.

Round Nose Pliers, like these: These are great for bending wire. Pretty much, they kick ass.

Chain Nose Pliers: Flat on the inside of the jaws, rounded on the outside of the jaws. Again, pretty awesome.

Those three will cover pretty much all of your wrapping needs!

Thank you!! I so appreciate it! 😁😁😁

I use this: Liver Of Sulphur Gel, 2 Ounce Bottle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0034LL8HQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_qCyJAbNH8VD9X

I use it for pretty much everything PLUS it lasts foreverrr 😁

That's a lovely piece, and an inventive way to decorate some pretty labradorite.

I use Renaissance Wax polish (Amazon) to finish all my oxidised work. It was was developed by The British Museum for protection of fine art and will not stain or discolour with aging. It is acid neutral, water and alcohol resistant. You may wish to re-apply this coating in time due to wear / usage.

If you're willing to spend a little more on higher quality tools that will last you a long time I would suggest riogrande.com they are a major supplier for all things a jeweler may need. If you want to see how much more you get into it without spending much I would suggest amazon. Nylon jaw pliers are great for straightening wire without scratching it. Long nose pliers are personally what I use the most for gripping/manipulating/bending/tie off end pieces. The flat end wont scratch much if you're careful because they don't slide along the wire.

this is a pair of nylon jaw:

I use a ring clamp.

Little more comfortable in the hand than some pliers, imo.

One thing that I use constantly is a few different sized nail punches. They're great for wrapping wire around to make perfect little spirals. Also a great way to make your own jump rings.

You can buy much less expensive ones at TSC or Harbor Freight, but these are the kind to get:

Very handy.

This is a tough question....it's analogous to asking someone to pick a purse or wallet.

That said, I found something that would work well and give her plenty of room to expand: https://www.amazon.com/ArtBin-Express-Rolling-Storage-6922SA/dp/B002PIHXFU

Its from this book. She likes to use a lot of different gauges and extras (torch, hammer/anvil)

This is what I use. I put my spools of wire and my pliers and such in the top section of the box. The bottom drawers I use to store my stones and finished pieces.

No solder, just tension and friction. It is quite simple when you have the right tools although still possible without. I use this pin punch set
https://www.amazon.de/BGS-1695-Splintentreiber-Set-18-teilig/dp/B00P0WV5PM/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?keywords=splintentreiber+satz&qid=1562343575&s=gateway&sprefix=pin+punc&sr=8-11

The Amethyst is a 4mm cab. I wrap 0.8mm wire three times around a 3.2mm punch. The inner diameter ends up being about 3.6-3.8mm once the wire springs back a bit. Then I just push the Amethyst in hole. If there is enough tension it will hold.

I have no idea the name but I could make a video if you would like?
