D-mannose is a good idea when it comes to urinary tract infections. These are natural sugars that stick to E.Coli which is the bacteria that usually causes the UTIs. It then makes it easy to get rid of by drinking lots of water. So provided you get completely natural products, there is no harm in trying. Another remedy which i can recommend and will help to provide some relief and prevent UTIs from recurring and these are probiotics. Healthy, good bacteria that attack and fight off bad bacteria which are responsible for causing these conditions. You can boost your diet on yogurts, kefir or fermented milk and kombucha; these are rich sources of probiotic.

Other than that, you can also look into probiotic supplements. These are faster acting and much better when it comes to serving as a remedy to UTIs. But like I said earlier, knowing the source of your products are very important. Natural products are less likely to have health complications. I would recommend a brand, Eu Natural. These guys are highly trusted and recommended with natural products and supplements. They also provide Flourish Probiotics. This is a natural combination of good bacteria that will help to fight UTIs and also has some other health benefits. I will attach a link so you can have a closer look.

I hope this info was useful and wish you good luck and health. Remember to drink lots of water. you need it

I have the same problem and I've learned that having a good routine helps tremendously.

  1. Use a scrub exfoliator before shaving... but be careful if you decide to use after shaving. Some scrubs can sting!
  2. Aftershave can really make a difference. I've had a lot of luck with this product that was recommended by my dermatologist (she removed a BAD ingrown hair in that region a few months ago).
  3. Be careful not to shave too often or you could be irritating your hair follicles (keep in mind that the skin in your pubic region becomes more sensitive around the time of your period... Personally, i avoid shaving down there during this time because If I do it is pretty much a guarantee my skin will freak out.)
  4. Try experimenting with different blades. You could try single-bladed/straight razors (I've had luck in the past with these!), super-hydrating 5-blade Venus razors, standard 3-bladed, electric razors or battery powered (i'm trying this out currently)
  5. There's always waxing.
  6. Laser hair removal is the only true long-term fix. (This was also suggested by my dermatologist during the same appointment that I mentioned earlier.) Start saving to quit shaving for good!

I hope these tips help! Good luck to you, my fellow ingrown-haired sister.

Try vitamin E suppositories I have the same issue with dryness and I feel like I post about these like at least once a day on this subreddit. LOL but yeah they are cheap and easy to use and only have coconut oil and vitamins E but they are just awesome for general dryness from BC. I use it every night! (Keep them in the fridge if you can they get a little melty) I think if you’re using BC these are a must because it becomes like a desert down there sadly.... :p

Carlson - Key-E Suppositories, 30 IU Vitamin E Suppository, Lubricates Dry Areas, Treatment for Women and Men, Coconut and Palm Oil Base, Vaginal & Rectal, 24 Count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001LF39IS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_T14KDb9Z9SZDP

(I have posted about this in more detail on another thread which I’ll include here too: https://www.reddit.com/r/WomensHealth/comments/d8uc0l/my_fianc%C3%A9e_cant_get_wet_always_smells_bad_we/f1dub3w/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)

I use Dry Idea clear gel antiperspirant. It says on the package that it can last up to 72 hours. It works super well and I’ve never had any sort of irritation in the years I’ve used it. I have sensitive skin.

You definitely have to scrub it off in the shower. Especially if you’ve applied it a bit thick which I’ve done on occasion...

Good luck!

Also! BO can be caused by the foods you eat as well. If you eat foods with a lot of natural spices, it might be worth switching over to some bland food for a while to see if that helps things.

I prefer to use whole food based, raw vitamins vs things that come from the lab since they tend to be more bio available. It could just be placebo effect, but I feel better on the raw vitamins than I did with a basic multivitamin.

I use Whole Earth & Sea Women’s vitamins and like that they offer selenium and iodine (I don’t use iodized salt so that’s important to me) for thyroid health. I buy them on amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KH6B8T4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_cjFvCb1QQTMQB).

Garden of Life is also a really reputable brand but I haven’t tried theirs.

As for D3 I take Costco’s Kirkland brand and it keeps my levels perfect even though I barely ever go in the sun 😅

very informative article.

hopefully this is OK to mention but - my girlfriend and I just created a 100% natural/herbal supplement that helps to regulate hormones and ease menstrual symptoms (cramps, PMS, etc.). You can check it out on Amazon and I'm happy to answer questions about it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L8DEMCO

This super sucks. The antibiotic they gave you for the UTI caused the yeast infection, definitely. I'm sorry. Some ladies just get in the infection cycle and regular pharma can't kick it. I spent my 20s pretty much with a constant infection until a new GYN turned me on to boric acid suppositories and essential oils. If your doctor's only solution is just more pills, definitely see if either or both of these help break the cycle.

u/Thelastunicorn80 · 2 pointsr/WomensHealth

Probiotics only work if they are vaginal formulated and still most people need one that is mainly Lactobacillus Crispatus.

Boric acid works but will only help to fully eradicate an infection if taken properly.

Here are a couple articles I wrote that you should check out. They arent very long and they are an easy read but they contain a lot of info that you dont get when someone says just take probiotics or boric acid, you really need to know what types and how to take then properly to be effective.

Probiotics:
https://healthyhooha.com/2019/02/12/the-role-of-probiotics-in-combating-chronic-bv-and-yeast-infections/

Boric acid:
https://healthyhooha.com/2019/04/11/facts-about-vaginal-boric-acid-treatments/

Here are the probiotics i take that have worked wonders for me, im not advertising but a lot of people ask me what i take after they read the articles :)

Also, there are A LOT of people who feel like they have a yeast infection but do not, i was one of them. I kept going to the dr for help and they kept saying i was negative. Im not saying you are negative but for those who might be reading this and its happening that your tests keep coming back negative- google "resources on vestibulitis and vulvodynia" it might change your life! 💚

Your multi actually doesn't have enough B12. If you're vegan, you should be taking a supplement with 100 micrograms of B12 every single day. Yes, it will make your pee a bright color, that is normal and fine. There aren't any negative effects of getting too much B12, besides a small number of people getting acne from it.

If you're looking for a good vegan multivitamin, try Deva's.

For how long were you only taking a B12 vitamin once a month? If it was more than a year or so, you might have or be on your way to a deficiency.

I'm personally over gyno visits when you don't feel heard. Unless they do a swab and get a test to prove what they think, I'd rather handle it myself. I love boric acid suppositories and they help with BV and yeast. They are pretty cheap and then you can manage your own vaginal health. I use one when I feel like something might be off but often use one once a week to keep things in check. I tend to get yeast infections after sex so sometimes I put one in the night after a day I had sex. You can learn more about them on Amazon. The reviews gave me hope: https://www.amazon.com/pH-D-Feminine-Health-Support-Suppositories/dp/B01KGFXSLQ/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1YN6ROC1TPYER&keywords=ph+defense+boric+acid&qid=1569355337&s=gateway&sprefix=ph+def%2Caps%2C204&sr=8-4

This is the probiotic: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004ZNDFIW/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They have it at Kroger and Walmart, but I forget to buy them so I prefer the subscription.

The recipe:
Step 1: buy a douche, whole milk plain yogurt and distilled water. (Don't refrigerate the water)
Step 2: get a plastic cup or chode cup w/e you can use to easily pour with.
Step 3: empty the douches contents in the stick and rinse. Then fill the bottle up with distilled water.
Step 4: pour the measured water into the cup and add 2 tbsp of yogurt. Stir until consistent.
Step 5: pour your yogurt mix into the douche. You will probably have too much mix but that's okay.
Step 6: I can't stand cold stuff touching my girly parts so I usually microwave it for 5 seconds or so. Now you lay down
In the tub and try to angle your lower half upward. Give the douche a little shake and pull the applicator until you hear it click.
Step 7: insert the douche as far as you can will while still being comfortable and gently squeeze. Once it starts to drip down your butt you know your canal is full, but don't stop squeezing until it is empty.
Step 8: set a timer for 5-10 mintues ans try not to push the solution out. The goal is to keep it in for as long as possible.
You're all done! Just clean with the soap you normally use! Bam!

Good luck in the future!!

Use something gentle. Preferably something with no dyes, fragrances or addatives.

Maybe something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0779BMXTN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_IkgZDbYMAWT9W

Please, please, please don't use bleach. That's a good way to get chemical burns, and end up in the hospital

u/saucystarstuff · 2 pointsr/WomensHealth

Oh! You also might try taking a cranberry supplement. I have friends who swear by it and I decided to try it out. I actually picked these up because I needed the probiotic supplement but I figured the added cranberry couldn't hurt!

Maybe they'll help you, too!

It’s unlikely, it could be stress or other factors why you felt faint. I’m a little confused about the first experience, you were wearing a tampon when he tried to have sex with you (assault might be better word on this one)? If you were wearing a tampon the chances are super low I’d think but I would get some cheap test strips at amazon or dollar store (they are cheap and accurate) and just test every week (or more). 20 tests for less than $8 Wondfo Pregnancy Test Strips (20 Count) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004AOGUD8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_wRolDb9AE7YQN.

For second experience did you ask about the condom? Did it slip off, did he take it off? You need to make sure he knows he can’t cum in you. For back up is there a reason why you’re not using birth control?

Absolutely seek medical attention. It's probably an infection and could become very serious. That's my bet, a cyst of some kind from infection. There's a very small chance, too, that it could be cancer. See if warm, damp compresses make it feel better. Health supply places sell a kind of donut shape seat pad, some inflatable, designed for new mothers and those who have had surgery Down There, so they can sit without having all of their weight on the sore spot.

Oh, these things are much nicer now than they used to be. Get one like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Donut-Pillow-Orthopedic-Hemorrhoid-Pregnancy/dp/B07QT937RZ/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=donut+seat+for+new+mothers+hemmoroids&qid=1567574893&s=gateway&sr=8-2

Feel better soon!

If you'd like a suggestion of something I have used and works like a charm, I get this:

Bacterial Vaginosis Treatment - BV Balance Activ Gel - 7 Tube Box https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0027RFTIW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_DGoBCbCXK4689

It doesn't smell, but it can be a bit sticky feeling (if you have hair, trim it a bit). Best to use it immediately before going to bed, and wear undies. Also make sure you insert the applicator all the way, empty it fully (after a few tries you figure out what works). When you take it out, some may leak, which is why I suggest undies and straight to bed.

Sometimes I take the cap off and squeeze till all the air comes out before inserting it. You know, to avoid the uncomfortable feeling of a vag toot.
