Not to barge in late or anything, but I read this a couple of months ago, and it's pretty good. It was half an introduction to philosophy using The X-Files as a base, and half philosophers talking about their personal X-Files theories. Would recommend.

Wanting To Believe is pretty good too, but it's more arranged as critiques of individual episodes.

There's one more out there that not many know of because it was released only a couple years ago. It's purely instrumental (no voice over cuts like in the other two albums listed) and the whole volume is absolutely fantastic...

The X-Files Expanded Edition: Volume 1

Some highlights from this include House Organ - Irrational Fear (ep: The Ghosts Who Stole Christmas), Five Cards (ep: The Goldberg Variation), Scully's Serenade (ep: Within) and The Tip (ep: Release)

There are plans for a Volume 2 which would complete this collection (volume one contains highlights from all the seasons) but there isn't anything concrete on when that'll be released. My hope is some of those awesome lesser tracks (like that oboe piece from The End) will be included! /fingerscrossed

It's been out for a year or so now, all the episodes are remastered in 1080p Widescreen and the picture quality is incredible! It's like watching it for the very first time, and every episode has DTS-HD 5.1 audio so it sounds amazing too. I have this one! I love Firefly and X Files so when I saw it, I had to have it!

Buy an HD antenna.

The Mohu Metro should be enough. It's a 25-mile radius leaf indoor antenna. It's It's what I have and I get FOX in crystal clear HD. I also haven't paid for cable in about a year.

Since you live in New Orleans, I'm sure you won't have any problem getting FOX at all.

Hey! Fellow UK X-Phile here. Those "File" tapes (bar Secrets, which came with the box) are from a weekly magazine (years and years old now). To complete this set you should try and get hold of the original tape releases that the box was actually designed for - starting with File 1, File 2, File 3 and File 4.

There's also a purple/maroon coloured box for the Files 5-8 that came with a VHS of "More Secrets Of The X Files". You might be able to track that down too! (I think I have it stashed at my parents' house actually, just minus "More Secrets...")

I have the Unauthorized X-Cyclopedia, which I like a lot. It's more of a reference book than a straight up trivia book, though.

The second poster is much easier to find, because fox owns the copyright. Think I got mine off ofamazon a few years ago, when the new season was coming out.

I think The Complete X-Files: Behind the Scenes, the Myths and the Movies is a book which covers this sort of stuff. I haven't read it yet, because I am waiting for the Revised and Updated Edition which includes Season 10 to come out in November.

There is also The X-Files Official Collection, which is content from the official X-Files magazine, which was released while the original series ran, collected into three volumes:

• Volume 1: The Agents, the Bureau and the Syndicate
  
• Volume 2: Little Green Men: Monsters and Villains
  
• Volume 3: Conspiracy Theory - The Truth, the Secrets and the Lies
