A rifle: I personally suggest the Classic Army KM10, but the KM12, Delta 10/12, EC1/2, and ISSC MK22 are exactly the same internally. G&G Combat Machines, like a G&G CM18 are also very nice and popular starter guns.

Extra mags: My personal favorite are G&P High RPS. They're pretty tight in most guns but are well priced, look nice, and feed well. They fit well in Combat Machines, but I've never tested with Classic Army. Some others that fit in Combat Machines, and probably Classic Army, are Ares Ameobas and PTS EPMs. For mid-caps you'll need a speedloader. For high caps, it's not needed.

Battery: I'd suggest a 7.4v Lipo or 9.6v nimh. If you're going Lipo, buy from Hobbyking. They sell decent batteries for cheap. I'm not sure the exact dimensions of the stock each uses, but this 7.4v 2000mah 15-25c would probably fit in both and run them fine. It has a huge capacity so it'll last a while. For a charger, the Imax B6 will do everything you need it to (Charge, discharge, some other stuff) and the price isn't bad. I'd also suggest a Voltage checker for Lipos. The Classic Armys will come with a 9.6v nimh and a shitty charger. For those, just get a new smart charger. The G&Gs have a battery bundle that'll give you a 9.6v nimh and smart charger.

Head protection: For eyepro, I love Pyramex. Pyramex I-force are my personal favorite, and the V2G-XP are very good as well. They're also rebranded by Valken and are known as Valken Zulus and Sierras. The One Tigris mesh mask is by far the best lower face protection I've used. Hard cover where you need it (teeth, nose, lips) and still covers your cheeks. It's also very comfy and lets you get good cheek weld, so you can see down your sights easily. I also wear a hat and Howard Leight impact sports

Gloves: Hand shots hurt. A lot. Some nice gloves like Mechanix M-pacts are a god-send in game.

chest rig: If you want to carry extra mags, the Condor Rapid Assualt is a nice and cheap way to carry them. 6 M4 mag pouches and a lot of MOLLE to attach other pouches. It's also super adjustable and can fit almost every body type.

BBs: I almost exclusively use Elite Force .28g Bio. They're just the best BBs I've used and aren't crazy expensive. You'll have to find a weight that's best for you (Maybe buy a sample pack?) but .28s are generally best in stock guns.

Camo isn't that important, but I love my LBX Combat Uniform. The shirt uses a thin-ish material in the chest and back which is great if you're using a plate carrier or chest rig, while the arms, and pants, are made of a thick material that really takes away the sting of BBs, but still leaves enough that you can feel hits. I also like having an outfit specifically for airsoft. The pants also fit knee pad inserts. All that being said, jeans and a hoodie are perfectly fine.

First things first, see if there are any fields nearby that have rentals. Go out and play with a rental before dropping $500, last thing you'd want to is spend that much money on a loadout only to find you don't like playing airsoft.

Now that being said, $500 is actually a very reasonable starting budget. I'm already going to assume that you have a good pair of boots, if you don't then you def are going to want to add that as something to purchase. So I have a basic loadout, it's going to be 3 different stores because airsoft retailers are an awful place to buy lipo batteries. A lot of these items I've either owned or know people personally who do.

So let's start off with the basics.

  • The G&G CM16 SRXL - It's a step up from their basic Combat Machine lineup, but still sub $250. It has a basic MOSFET from the factory that can be programmed to shoot either full auto or 3 round burst when set to auto. One negative about the MOSFET is I've heard reports of it burning out on 11.1v lipos, so stick to 7.4v ones for now. It is going to shoot just below 400, which makes it perfect for field play. It is a keymod rail, but the one downside is it's "airsoft spec" keymod so keep that in mind when buying keymod accessories. Overall it's a great gun for the price and very much a good starting gun.

  • ALTERNATIVE ICS PAR MK3 - This gun is on sale right now, down from $340 to $214, so if you can get it while it's this cheap then it's a steal. ICS guns are tanks and they are very easy to work on down the line due to their split gearbox design. My first gun was an ICS CXP-16 and it is still running for the dude who bought it from me to this very day. You may need to drop a new spring in, but again due to the split gearbox that's super easy.

  • G&P High RPS midcaps - Great mags for a great price. The will handle damn near any ammo and any rounds per second you can throw at it. They are a bit tight in some guns, you might have to give your mag a bit of a love tap to get it to lock in, but at the same time that means there is very little mag wobble. 5 mags is more than enough for your basic open play. If you're wanting to go to longer events down the road, you can just buy another set of 5 and you're golden.

  • G&P CompM4 Replica - I use this red dot on my shorter M4. It's got a great build quality, comes with a kill flash to keep your scope protected, and takes AA batteries. That last bit about taking AA batteries is my favorite part, I am awful about forgetting to turn off my red dot and it's nice to know that it takes a very common battery.

  • LBX Lock and Load Chest Rig in Project Honor - The LBX Lock and Load chest rig is one of the most underrated chest rigs on the market. It can hold damn near anything you'd need for a day of playing. It's very easy to take off and put on thanks to the large zipper up front. It has plenty of padding in all the right places to keep you comfortable throughout the day. It's overall just a great value. The Project Honor camo one being only $25 is an absolute steal, I personally picked one of these up when I saw that price and it's well worth it. It may not be the prettiest camo out there, but you can't even come close to that quality in the $25 price range.

  • Krytac .25g BBs 4000 count - Great BBs, never had any issues with them feeding. It's one of the 4 brands of BBs I will use in my rifles.

  • 6mmProShop 500 round speedloader - A nice, basic speedloader. Better than the smaller pistol mag sized ones since you don't have to fill it up after every freaking magazine. I had one of these for a while, only reason I don't still use it is because someone stole it at an open play. A step up would be the Odin Sidewinder but that puts your budget over $500.

All of this with the Free3Day coupon code puts you at $410.

Now we get to protection gear (and a charger)

  • Pyramex I-Force Dual Pane Goggles - Great pair of budget priced goggles. I personally use these on longer games or days when I just don't feel like running my larger goggles. For anyone that doubts the quality of these Valken rebrandes them for their Zulu goggles and charges almost twice as much.

  • OneTigris mesh lower facemask - Better than the full mesh ones because the cloth on the sides conforms to your face better. There is still plenty of padding on the cloth sides to protect your face and it gives you a better cheek weld on the rifle. Only complaint I have is they do tend to get a little hot if it is very hot outside, but that's the tradeoff for protection.

  • Tenergy lipo charger - Nice, basic lipo charger. You'll need this for the batteries I'm linking later. I use this charger personally, haven't had any issues with it yet.

If you have Amazon Prime, that put's this portion to a total of $53. Overall we're at $463.

Now for the batteries. I always suggest HobbyKing for purchasing lipos, they have by far the best prices on lipos. These 1200 mAh 2s nunchuck lipos should work great for your gun. Lipos are going to give you a better trigger response than NiMH batteries. I'd order two of these, which are about $13 total. Shipping will cost you about $9.

    Overall total: $485

given your links i think specifying country would help you out some with peoples suggestions.

if you take into consideration this is the opinion of USA based stuff i tried to be helpful when i could

the mesh mask like you linked is pretty much standard i would recommend that or something like [this one](https://www.amazon.it/pieghevole-protettiva-cinturino-regolabile-QM017-WL2/dp/B07C168FF8/ref=sr_1_21?s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1537891661&sr=1-21&keywords=mesh+mask) not familiar with the language probably better deals but the padded sides conform better and will be a bit more comfortable.

Goggles: not sure if in europe there is the same governing standards but US we use ansi Z87, i really like Pyramex Full seal dual pane goggles (couldn't find them on your amazon) but they run ~$15 here, ro like a pair of surplus desert Locust goggles off of ebay.

Gloves: [Mechanix wear mpacts](https://www.amazon.it/Mechanix-Wear-M-Pact-Multicam-Multicolore/dp/B00LB46CM4/ref=pd_sbs_60_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00LB46CM4&pd_rd_r=9dd90195-c0dd-11e8-92b3-217772d9a3e4&pd_rd_w=6PhCE&pd_rd_wg=JKyry&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=A11IL2PNWYJU7H&pf_rd_p=18ac1db8-8667-475d-a3cb-dc2e0028cb9b&pf_rd_r=RXZEM45JCH5WZM14RHN7&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=RXZEM45JCH5WZM14RHN7) are gloves of my choice come in multicam, and some neutral earthy colors like coyote as well. The Mpacts have a rubber bumper on the back side of knuckles etc and still have good hand dexterity/feel they are pricier but quite well made in my book. Alternatively some mechanic type glove likely will offer good protection and handling dexterity and be found much cheaper wherever.

Boots: Really get a decent hiking boot, to me then its dual purpose I use Salomon Gtx2 Mid's special colors arent a huge deal just go for something more natural in color unless you are stickler for a certain unit look (mine are actually a discountinued color which is a deep vibrant green certainly not military but hey they were cheaper and comfy gets the job done). Merrill, Lowa also known for good hiking boots over here. I feel like this one may be more dependant on whats available in your country but TDLR get a decent hiking boot in a neutral color. can use it for airsoft and hiking working etc

Clothing: Thats a hard one a good entry point is usually army surplus but againd dependent on where you are. and or budgets as well some people go crazy with Crye and whatnot but my advice starting out keep it simple go like with some surplus it will be more durable than most "airsoft" marketed or grade stuff. High end being europe i think? i would say go like with claw-gear before Crye (actually imported clawgear to us here as was cheaper than crye been happy with it so far) But really some decent milsurp or mid/entry level branded tactical stuff like 5.11 etc vs airsoft or Chinese knockoffs.

Just purchased this used off of /u/alexdzk from /r/airsoftmarketcanada (to which I recommend any Canadian looking to buy used should go. The amount of people on there is small but reliable with a 100% clean trade rate as of right now). Couldn't have bought it new anyways since the scope has been discontinued and replaced with their new line of scopes.

I've been looking at 1-4x sights for a while now and I saw this pop up and tried to pick it up right away. It's everything I could've asked for and then some. Variable magnification, reel steel quality, and great eye relief. It's a bit larger than I thought it would be but that's a non-issue. Excited to try this thing out! I may not necessarily use it on my ICS CXP-08, just wanted to try putting it and see how it fit. Perhaps a BASR or DMR setup to look towards for the future...

For a more in-depth, proper, and useful review check out this one by /u/booliganairsoft. All the way back from 2012, but it's still relevant!

I use an i4 as well, I didnt have to do any modifications for my helmet. I use an MICH 2002 tactical helmet I got off amazon (ill link below) but a MICH 2001 design should (probably) also work fine . The main difference between the two is the 2002 has a lip at the top which protects the tops of the ears a bit more. You dont have to go with the ones i recommended, most helmets of the MICH 2001 or 2002 design will probably work.

The Pros of using a helmet with a dye mask:

-whole head protection (except for your neck)

-it doesn't fog

-if you play in the rain (i have several times) the helmet works like an umbrella for the dye mask and prevents any water from getting inside. (and keeps your head dry)

-it looks really cool

The Cons:

-It takes a bit of work to get the straps set up first time

-Im currently trying to figure out how to run coms since the dye mask gets in the way a bit

-if your not used to a helmet your head will feel a little bit heavy at first until you get used to it.

-there are no other cons. It's totally worth it.

I have an $150 Pilad 1x42 red dot which is great but honestly it saddens me to say I still prefer my $16 Feyachi I run a protector for it but i definitely don’t feel the need to baby it all the time which is great.

I bought a $30 version as well , and both are the same quality (though the $30 actually has less brightness settings!)

Bang for your buck, it’s hard to beat $16.

Here is the $16 one on my MP5K

And the $30 one on my Calico

I’ve seen gaps in goggles all the time becuase the goggles don’t fit the head very well. I don’t thinks it’s good especially since a bbs almost hit your eye. I’ve never seen any gaps in a Dye mask or revision goggles. There is probably more but this is in my experience.

Also the dye mask is the best thing I’ve ever bought in airsoft lol

u/techworm33 · 19 pointsr/airsoft

Please buy a 20 dollar red dot from amazon, Its a toy gun!

I can vouch for the cheap sights, they are perfectly fine. Spend money on the gun to make it shoot better, not the sight to view the bbs :)

Edit: Here is the sight i have here and [here] (https://www.amazon.com/Sights-Screen-Shield-Tactical-Protector/dp/B01N4P5XX7/ref=pd_sim_200_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=DF7ZCNEQBJBNY7Y9FMV8) is the cover i use to protect it.

When it comes to eyepro, I would definitely not take any chances. Get yourself something that's proven to be safe. I personally use these and would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. I trust my eyes with them 100%.

u/hikerjamesb · 1 pointr/airsoft

Iron sights will be perfectly adequate. Having a red dot or not is not the main factor in playing well. Much more about tactics, technique and experience. A red dot does definitely help with faster target acquisition especially in darker areas where iron sights are hard to see due to lack of light. Red dot sights are also really fun to use imo.

I'd definitely recommend a TRS-25 + riser if your budget can stretch to it. Waterproof, lifetime warranty, good battery life, good parallax correction. Otherwise one of the field sport type red dots which ktmrider119z recommended or one of these style sights. The open style sight is good for CQB because of the different dot shapes, but if you knock it, it will be more likely to lose it's zero position. Also less weather resistant than the tube types. You'll also need a lens protector to go in front of it. You can DIY one with a dremel + lexan or buy a rail mounted one.

u/callmespanker · 10 pointsr/airsoft

Like others have pointed out, you're spending a lot of money. Hey, that's not necessarily a bad thing considering we know nothing about your budget.

Some tips for your selections:

  • If you are willing to drop $100 on that mask you might as well go for a Dye Precision i4 mask. This is the last eye/face protection option you will ever need, for only $30 more than you're already spending.

  • Those gloves seem a bit expensive considering I have never heard of the model, and to be honest they look a little cheap. These Mechanix gloves run about half of what you're budgeting and are highly recommended, probably the best price/quality ratio on the market. Don't take my word, take the 635 reviews on Amazon's word.

  • Boots are totally up to you, but if it's your first time airsofting you don't necessarily need to drop over $100. Running or any athletic shoes would honestly be fine for your first time.

  • Same idea applies to the pants and shirt. If you really want them, don't let anyone here stop you, but jeans and a shirt would do you just fine.

As for a vest, given the stuff you've already picked out, the obvious choice would be a Condor MOPC in black. Plate carriers are generally highly modular, so with some additional MOLLE pouches you can set up your rig however you want.

    Edit: model, not brand
u/geekandwife · 1 pointr/airsoft

I use a baofeng https://amzn.com/B007H4VT7A and it is your pretty much best pick for a airsoft radio.

From there you have to decide what type of headset or mic you want. Top end is bone conduction headset or a throat mic, I myself just use a shoulder mic as I am not a stealth player.

u/OwangeSquid · 2 pointsr/airsoft

I have fucking massive frames and they fit over mine. Decently comfortable as well. Here they are. They also make rx inserts for them which is what I am switching to next month instead of wearing my glasses underneath. If you don't want to do these just get a dye i4 as they work really well with glasses.

u/names_are_for_losers · 1 pointr/airsoft

Yeah there are a few good options for eyepro in the $15-20 area, anything Pyramex with the right ratings or these too. Cheap doesn't necessarily = bad even if there are nicer goggles out there.

u/Pure_Silver · 3 pointsr/airsoft

OK. To me Pennsylvania looks to be mostly green, not tan. Therefore I recommend you purchase green equipment which will suit the various types of camouflage you might want to switch between over the course of the seasons.

I personally don't recommend SCARs at all; I think they're failure-prone and poor value for money compared to ARs, but if you want one, you want one.

That said, I would recommend that you purchase:

Equipment | Model | Price | Comment
---|---|----|----
Eye Protection | Revision Desert Locust Fan Goggles (Foliage Green) | $149 | Affords maximum anti-fogging capability.
Eye Protection | Revision Desert Locust Thermal Lens | $28 | Affords maximum anti-fogging capability.
Lower-Face Protection | Matrix Mesh Mask (Ranger Green) | $13 |
Shirt | Military Surplus UBACS | ? | Choose a camouflage pattern suitable for your area.
Jacket | Military Surplus | ? | Choose a camouflage pattern suitable for your area.
Rig | Haley Strategic D3CRX (Ranger Green) | $180 | Everything you'll ever need and nothing you don't. Candidate for lower-price replacement.
Rig | Haley Strategic MP2 | $40 | Makes for much faster insertion/extraction.
Pack | Haley Strategic FlatPack (Ranger Green) | $135 | Integrates easily with the D3CRX and will carry things like water, spare ammunition, food and batteries. Candidate for lower-price replacement.
Gloves | ? | ? |
Trousers | Military Surplus | ? | Choose a camouflage pattern suitable for your area.
Belt | ? | ? |
Dump Pouch | ? | ? |
Primary Weapon | VFC SCAR-L (Tan) | $268 | Airsoft SCARs, with the exception of the costly TM Recoil Shock, are almost universally deeply flawed. If you want one, you want one...
Mid-Cap Magazine (x6) | G&P 130rd Metal STANAG (Tan) | $72 | These are metal-shelled and reasonably high-quality. Plan on carrying four in the chest rig and one in the gun, plus a spare to keep in case of failures.
Optic | VisionKing 1.25-5x26 Short Dot | $66 | Excellent quick-adjust low-mid-power scope.
Optic Mount | Element LaRue SPR-1.5 | $40 |
Vertical Foregrip | MagPul RVG (Dark Earth) | $24 |
Sling | ? | ? | Vickers-style quick-adjust 2-point strongly recommended. Work out how you want to attach it to the SCAR first.
Battery (x3) | Turnigy Nano-Tech 2000mAh 2S (7.4V) 15~25C LiPo | $33 | Batteries are grossly overpriced from airsoft retailers. These packs will fit the SCAR but aren't necessarily the biggest that will fit; I recommend waiting until you have the gun, measuring the compartment, inputting those measurements into HobbyKing's LiPo finder, and choosing the largest (mAh) 2S (7.4V) Turnigy Nano Tech pack you can fit into the gun.
Charger | Turnigy E3 Compact | $13 | Basic balance charger.
Battery Tester | Turnigy DLUX Tester/Balancer | $12 | Displays state of charge (preventing you from dropping below a safe voltage) and balances the cells in the pack for longevity.
| Total: | ~$ |

I mean, that's without a single upgrade in the gun - which really should at the very least have someone correct the AoE, do a re-shim (possibly requiring replacing the gears), possibly replace the bushings, perform a flat-hop, fit a Gate PicoSSR3 MOSFET, and convert the gun and batteries to Deans connectors.

Get the Save Phace Grunts. They are a copy of the X800, but actually made in the USA and meet safety standards. The X800s are nice but 4x the cost of the grunts.

For one, the cyma ak doesn't come with rails so mounting it would require an additional optics mount.

For two I may be just bad at internetting right now but I have no idea what battery/charger you get when you buy that bundle so can't comment on it.

mag, mask, and goggles, and bb's totally fine buy the .25g BB's for slightly more, just remember to wash bio-BB's before use. Lots of youtube tutorials for that.

P.S. if you choose a gun that is optics friendly, or decide to later buy a mount for that gun, amazon has a whole bunch of cheap red dots like this that work totally fine. I use 1 of these specifically as my cqc sight and I've never had a problem with it even in sunny conditions.

These are probably outside of your pricerange, considering the cost of the gun, but they're the best full facemask that you can buy.

SPR, CRB, or PDW? If it’s the SPR, I’d go with a shortdot. Shortdots look great on the SPR, and there’s plenty of them on Amazon.

I have almost a full squad using them and they hardly ever fog with the top foam removed. If you are at all worried about fog I suggest getting this: http://www.wide-i.com/delta.php

The other option is to get a goggle like this: https://www.amazon.com/Bolle-Safety-X800i-Tactical-Goggles/dp/B003ICKCJQ

Which has a lens slightly lifted off the frame which allows a ton of airflow. One guy on my squad uses these and says they're fantastic.

EDIT: Or if neither of these, could u link me one that u do recommend?

I have a few options for you. I have never heard of a magnifer that has adjustable magnification.

Option 1

-Get The Vortex Crossfire II with the Mount.
-Get something like this and mount the Holosun on top of the scope or simply just set it aside.
-This will take you slightly above $300

Option 2

-Return the Holosun
-Get the Vortex Strike Eagle Package
-Because you paid $300 for the Holosun and will pay another $300 for the magnifier, buying the Strike Eagle package leaves you with $200 to do whatever you want with.

Shot out red dot/reflex sights work great as a sillouette ring. Just attach it and use to box in a target.

Wow, for the much just keep en eye out for a used Dye I4 mask or just get it new. All masks or even just goggles will affect aiming down sights and most will require a riser for the sight to see properly.

And what else do I need for the gun? I already have:

  • a green/red dot scope this one

  • this half mask

  • Lancer Tactical goggles. ok I know they aren't that great but I'll be wearing them over my large-framed glasses so I hope I will be fine.

  • these gloves

  • 0.25g EF bio bbs

  • smart charger and 7.4v 1k mAh LiPo battery

Should I get into the gun and mess with some internals (stuff like shimming and radiusing the gearbox) or should I hold off for now?

If it's within your budget, this is my go to CQB gun:

TM M93R with folding stock (it says its for the gbb version but it does fit albeit loosely), couple extended mags, replacement slide, and a red dot. The replacement slide has a slot for a silencer but I don't have one so I can't recommend one.

Here are the first things to get. Gloves, because getting shot in the fingernail and having it rib backwards f*%$ing sucks, and good eye protection. The rest is up to you.

this seems to be the most recommended, however a little pricey

Have you tried a floating lens setup like these? So far so good for me.

I used the Smith Optic turbo fans for awhile, but in the hot summers not even the fans couldn't keep up. Switched to low profile glasses for awhile and that was a huge mistake for me as well. Try a pair of floating lens.

u/Grauvargen · 3 pointsr/airsoft

All scopes worth a damn look that way. This one looks bigger because of the lens covers. Here's a quick one I took without them.

I bought mine off a Swedish retailer (I assumed you were American, because, you know, Internet), but you can get it off of UK Amazon, if you want to.

Mostly externals, i got a Vision king Short Dot, some canted rails and a knockoff mbus sight, Some UTG Max Strength Picatinny Rings (med but high might be better), and a plano gun case. Might get a new forgrip and grip eventually, and a metal receiver but i want to do internals next.

u/herpthederp256 · 25 pointsr/airsoft

My nice and new Classic Army Nemesis x9. It was either this or an ARP9, but I wanted a full metal gun for once so I went with this short boi. Internally it's still completely stock, and I scooped up a couple extra 120 rd mid caps. The sight, suppressor, and grip are all aftermarket.
-Classic Army x9
-120rd Mid-Caps
-Red Dot Sight
-MLok Foregrip
-Mock Suppressor
