As for the base gun, I chose a KJW because they're TM compatible and are a pretty decent company. The full metal setup helps too, and since I was going to use CO2 mags, I dont have to worry about the gas efficiency issues of single stack green gas mags.

Now I just have to source the parts I need. The hardest part is the silver lower lol. Thank you for the info, I appreciate it and I hope I can show off my build in some time lol

If you're really wanting to get them a gun, I would get them this or this as both are going to be the best you can find for the money.

The pistol mentioned is upgradable, as well as the rifle, as they both use standard, 'common' parts. So, if he wanted to make each gun better later, he could!

Also, many people on here have tons of second-hand guns (even I myself, I have a CO2 Sub-Machinegun that's about in your price range, but not the point) that you could probably get for around that price!

It basically has a thick shoulder strap on the gun side (right side) and another thinner strap that goes around your left shoulder. There is also a belt attachment point for stability. I got it as a gift and it really isn't my thing, since it is hard to wear a chest rig with it. It looks pretty cool though. If you really want it, I will get it and take a picture of my specific one, but it looks exactly the same as it did new.

I have the lasers on, and I used these to mount the grips at an angle because I found it to be more comfortable.

Of course you could mount the rail on the bottom and have a more traditional location for the grip.

I'm interested in the scope protector kit you made, those are lexan protectors right? What kind of sizes are included? Also, do you have any idea I'd put them on my sights? I can only think of super glue or hot glue. These are the sights I use to give you an idea of the size:

If you don't want to use lipos you can also use standard 8.4 and 9.6v batteries as well. AK stick batteries fit fine in this.
