I published a huge sci fi novel called "Apex Predators" a few years ago and might be interested in joining.
There's also this sub: Story and Style that you guys should check out.
You need a router and modem. Both very easy to set up, so don't hesitate if you aren't computer smart. Also i checked my bill, I pay $54.99 a month for 35mb down.
Probably the best consumer router I've had, and only $20:

Two modem choices, I went for the more expensive one for no reason:

There was an arcade and a movie theater. You could smoke in the mall but usually not the stores. I remember the tobacco shop gave away licorice pipes to kids. There was a Woolworths with lunch counter.
In the basement was Rizzis’s but a much nicer version than the one in copley. Waiters had to wear ties and they played bad jazz. Inos also used to be in the mall basement. They sell high end ball gowns and now they’re down market street.
I guess I’m saying it was much more trashy (in some ways) and a lot classier. Now it’s all painted cream and normalized.
Mary McClure is a local history buff and has written several books about the area. She is active on some of the Cuyahoga Falls Facebook pages. http://www.amazon.com/Silver-Images-America-Arcadia-Publishing/dp/1467111759
I grew up in Akron too during the 70's and 80's. Worked at a roller rink in Springfield and the owner also owned the one in Barberton. Rolling Acres was the the mall back then.

For nostalgia and creepiness, watch this, this, and this. The video by Seph Lawless uses shots from one of his books (I have the original. Looks like he's rereleasing it). You might also want to watch Viceland's "Abandoned."

Update: Found the full Abandoned episode here.
Do you know about Amazon?
The book for the August 17th meeting is, The Year She Left Us by Kathryn Ma.
The Year She Left Us
Punk Rock and Trailer Parks was a comic that explored Akron ' s punk roots. It covered some of the same ground as this article from a fictional high schooler ' s perspective.

America's test kitchen cooking school has varying levels of financial involvement. You could buy the book then look into some of the videos/online supplements if you get into it.
