Hey, I'm flattered you care what I think!

I learned basic Objective-C on my own in high school (read this one during boring classes), and then went on to do a Bachelor in Computer Science at uni. Learning some basic programming really helps, because at least at my school it was very much fundamentals for the full first year, and if you understand them well enough it'll be a breeze.

That being said (and take this with a major grain of salt, as it's just me) I wasn't that big a fan of school. I got into and taught myself iOS development as my school, like most, was mostly based around Computer Science theory rather than practical applications and programming. I did learn some valuable things about algorithms and whatnot, but it's nothing that I couldn't have taught myself and everything that I've found to be "marketable" (things that have helped me get jobs) have been self-taught.

But university's awesome for a whole wealth of reasons (met awesome people), and you may adore it, I'd just be very careful not to learn a wealth of knowledge but have little experience applying it to anything concrete. Employers appreciate the latter far more (my GPA was rather meh, and I got some really cool jobs).

I do most of my work alone, but a lot of smart people have helped me along the way. :) It's just how I personally like to work at the moment. If you have any more questions I'm happy to answer. r/cscareerquestions as mentioned is a great resource too!

Mythical Man Month by Frederick Brooks - No Silver Bullet chapter. The number of people on a project results in an exponential increase in communication as errors and misconceptions result from from differing and inconsistent implementations. Christian has only to solve the problem once in his own mind and then apply it. On a team it must be communicated, and receivers all have filters and lenses. Concepts can also be understood but inconsistently implemented because of preference, experience, etc. Almost all great software is conceived and implemented by very small teams ... like three or less.

I have a couple problems. “Open Links In” with iCab doesn’t work with some addresses. I found a links to www.amazon.com like https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DC25FHC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=AX0BPKZH3NYP4&psc=1 don’t while links like https://smile.amazon.com/Adapter-Omars-Delivery-1000Mbps-Ethernet/dp/B07H24LH39 do, for instance. This isn’t exclusive to amazon, just easy to find. I don’t have the Amazon app installed btw.

With “Open Tweets in” with tweetbot only works if Tweetbot is not onscreen. If it is, it doesn’t open till I have switch apps and back to tweetbot. And then it loads every link I press, sometimes multiple of the same one all at once.

Surprisingly, I was still able to do wireless charging on my iphone 8 with the popsocket on. I have the swappable popsocket (are they all these days). It's mounted about 1cm lower than halfway horizontally, centered vertically and I can wirelessly charge using this charger: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Certified-Wireless-Universally-Compatible/dp/B01BMDQ9U8 . I did have to use some Sugru to extend the bottom lip out further because the phone kept sliding off, but it's been charging consistently on that stand for over 2 months now.

But it doesn't work on the Samsung charger that I have at work that lays flat.

Sorry, I got the number wrong, it dropped $200 but here is the link, the MacBook Pro had a $500 price drop but that deal expired, but you can get a MacBook Pro $300 off, but it’s still $2000
