This one?. I can’t seem to find it on Google Play but maybe that link helps. I don’t think Apple bought it, Apalon still lists many apps on Google Play. If your phone update caused issues, I’d contact Apalon for support. It really just looks to me like they discontinued it for Android, or maybe only on Google Play.

It may be easier for your to start with developing Android applications since a Mac OS isn't required and it's cheaper to publish your app (when you get that far).

Hey, check this list out. I’ve used all and I personally recommend them.

  1. VSCO Cam (iPhone, Android)
  2. Snapseed (iPhone, Android, iPad)
  3. Adobe Photoshop Express
  4. Instagram (iPhone, Windows, Android)
  5. Adobe Lightroom (iPad)
  6. Pixlr Express (Ios, Android)

Because they are free, some of them might appear to have limited features.

I don't know of one that specifically warns of the door opening, but you could use Belkin's wemo motion sensor and have a motion sensor inside the door. You'd get a push message on your phone indicating there was motion. It's usually instant but there have been occasions when it's delayed.

I've got one like that setup at my house and it's setup to turn on a wemo plug which then powers up my dropcam so I can see why there's motion in my house.

All you really need is the motion sensor, but not sure if you can just buy the motion sensor on its own: http://amzn.com/B00DYAUOT0

Otherwise, you could just put an automatic chime on the door: https://amzn.com/B000HE6QXY
