I think you're talking about Marking Whiskers. They are brightly-colored plastic brush-like things that make it easier to see survey markers.

No, you don't get it. The masses in other Western countries have more control over their politics than we do. It's not just that the wealthy "found a way to make the system work for them". They have designed the system to work for them and only them. They have found a way to make the system impervious to change by the masses. Does that make sense? It's like a monarchy. We have almost no power over it. The United States is a dictatorship, in many ways. Other Western countries are freer. They're not like this. You have to study the American political system to understand. It is not like other political systems.

> I think it is important to note that many of the current issues exist because of a population that is unwilling to resist them.

Of course, but you also have to understand how hard resisting is. Many have tried. It's almost impossible. That's what you people don't understand. We don't resist because we've been defeated so many goddamn times, brutally.

The best way to understand why America is the way it is is to read this book. This country might have ended up like many other countries in the world had it not been for the events outlined in that book. If you read that book you will see how hard we have fought.
