A timing kit comes with all the components that take care of timing belt/chain replacement. So it would be timing belt/chain, cam and crank sprockets, timing chain/belt tensioners, timing guides, timing cover gasket(s), and possibly some very model specific parts. It's a "kit" because it comes with everything you need.

As for the link, dunno. Here is a great example of a timing kit for your car. I don't know the quality of this kit, so I'd never buy it myself, but it's just a good example of the parts it will come with. It does come with a few extra gaskets that other kits may or may not, though.

I got a Noco GB40 from Canadian Tire. Ive used it to jump two cars for a total of 7 jumps. Ive only recharged it once now. It cost more, $125, and only has one USB port, but its been great https://www.amazon.ca/NOCO-GB40-UltraSafe-Lithium-Starter/dp/B015TKUPIC

They're very slow. I use a "pancake" type compressor with attached tank from Harbor Freight. $39 with coupon usually. The compressor isn't any more beefy but it has a tank that you can keep filled, so it makes for much faster tire filling.

You can also get an all-in-one combo thingy that has a compressor like that, along with a jumpstart battery, AC outlet, and some other goodies for about 90 bux. Like this:

Well, First off I implore you to extend your patience for that old beast. It looks nice.

Second, look at this image: link

See how the alternator is mounted? It looks a lot like the part that you have been told to purchase.

With a part like an alternator bracket it's not so important that you find the exact part that you had before, it's more important that your new part has bolt holes in the same locations and places your alternator in relatively the same position as the other part. Now if the power steering pump was mounted to the same bracket then you may need a separate bracket for it.

These engines were put in lots of different vehicles so something from a mercury or a lincoln may work fine in your ford.

I have this book which I have found very edifying. It won't help you, but you should look for something similar for ford engines.

I have had this tool set for at least 5 years and it has been great.

I find myself coming back to it constantly. Mainly because everything is kept together and it's easy to move around. Yes, I have more tools if I need something unique, but this handles most jobs.

Hey bud. That code reader is really, really outdated. It's a very basic one that is ultra economy. It's not going to work for certain cars because who knows why. I recommend an Angel AD410, it's a scanner I use at my shop for quick diag for simple problems, however in your case it will work very well and give you a lot of extra functionality, you can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/ANCEL-AD410-Enhanced-Vehicle-Automotive/dp/B071FSNL73/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=ancel+ad410&qid=1574729264&sprefix=ancel+ad4&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyTlFCWUJKM1FUOTBCJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzMwNTI1Sk04UjNKVjhISVhVJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAyNDk5MTYxOFhNUzdYVllHU1dNJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfcGhvbmVfc2VhcmNoX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

Also, what code is the light on for? Did you fix the issue?

Harbor Freight ...that says it all. You get what you pay for. Invariably the kit is made in China ....

Buy a decent kit from the likes of Meguires:

I used a Goo Gone Pen See Here

The applicator's tip seemed like it would be soft enough to be safe. I was wrong.

Would this bad boy do the trick? It just interrupts the positive wire and completes the circuit when the button is pressed, right?

The pair of horns are 6A each, so 12A right? I think that button says 50A, am I looking at the right thing? Also, for the run, I think around 10ft, should I use like a 10 gauge wire?

u/csdahlberg · 2 pointsr/auto

I've used a Black and Decker one that works just fine. It works well on either 12V or 120V, but takes a little longer when plugged in to 12V.

Generally for that kind of connection, you'll have a male and female end where the black and red wires switch so red is always hot and black is always ground. Dig this picture from Amazon with the same style of connection.

Beam style blades last significantly longer than the traditional frame type in ice and snow climates. They also more aerodynamic and have less tenancy to chatter at highway speeds.

The Rain-X brand is decently priced.

Those are known as Brake Spring Locking Pliers.

Here are some on Amazon - they're not especially cheap.

EDIT - Actually that first link I posted might just be a tool for compressing springs, whereas the tool in the video is for spreading. I can't find an exact match, but here's something similar
