33. RooCoat Babywearing & Maternity Coat 2.0 Charcoal with Gray Stripes Medium

    Features:
  • Our baby carrier coat easily slips over parent, child (infant or toddler) and your favorite baby carrier, ring sling or wrap to keep you and your child snugly warm outdoors in cold weather. (Note: Baby carrier is required and not included.) Not to be confused with a hoodie or jacket, this coat does not feature an unsafe pouch that your newborn sits in, you must use some type of carrier.
  • Reversible! The coat can be worn forward for a front carry, or reversed with parent hood removed for a back carry. The coat has both front and rear pockets, so your hands have somewhere to go no matter which carry you choose. We've also added an extra neck zipper for when you back carry to give your neck some breathing room. The main zipper features a removable pull cord that will help you when zipping, especially in a back carry and on your own with the little one.
  • UPDATED FEATURES: The child openings can now be snapped closed so you can wear the coat by itself. The child hood is removable and can be made smaller with a new button snap. The parent's hood is now larger to accommodate mom buns and has a drawstring to help keep it in place. The coats are 4 inches longer than the originals. The pockets are now even bigger to accommodate the largest of smart phones and keychains.
  • The exterior feels like a soft, thick sweatshirt and is made out of 80% cotton and 20% polyester. The gray striped interior liner adds a decorative flare and extra warmth and is made out of 50% cotton and 50% polyester.
  • For plans to wear with a toddler, order normal unisex sizing. For plans to wear with an infant or for a more fitted feel, order one size lower than your unisex size.

I totally understand. That's why the only thing that came to mind was a pram or a secondhand infant car seat (just without the base and rest of the travel system).

You can also look into getting a travel bassinet like this or this but you would have to put it on the floor of wherever you're going. A Rock N Play or a baby bouncer can easily be folded up to go in the car, then opened up at your destination, too. They're really light-weight and could also be an option.

I liked using a stretchy wrap for the first 3 months or so (up to 10-12lbs) and a soft carrier with the infant insert up until she was about 7 months, and without 7+ months.

I was using a solly baby and Juno+. Used almost everyday less maybe a handful of times.

Not sure how cold it gets by you but I’d recommend this with the soft carrier and a larger jacket and/or something like this with the wrap.

Are you using an Ergo infant insert? I used this one
https://www.amazon.com/Ergobaby-Easy-Infant-Insert-Natural/dp/B01ET1L3G0%3Fpsc%3D1%26SubscriptionId%3DAKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q%26tag%3Dduckduckgo-iphone-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB01ET1L33I?th=1&psc=1

And I liked it a lot. It held her in place really well and supported her head. After she grew out of the insert, I'm still using the butt pillow at 4 months.

I got this giant metal baby cage. It is a pretty large space, and has the freedom the be uncoupled to wall off a room that is baby proofed if I need to. I love that thing. My kid is 14 months (almost) and it still works great if I need to put him down for a while without him getting into crap. I didn't get it till he was 7 months old but have gotten a ton of use out of it.

*edit that is the Canadian Amazon link as I am Canadian. No idea where you are at :D

Like a hiking backpack. That's our plan when baby is a toddler and walking but still not big enough to do long walks/hikes/shopping trips. Distributes the extra weight of a bigger kid much more comfortably.

Oh like this?

I’ve never used a sling because of back problems.

This won’t help with how to adjust it but it shows how to get baby in and safe: https://youtu.be/bRdGksTvDwk

I couldn't find that old post. But I think it was something like this http://www.amazon.com/Heating-Cooling-Pack-Thermal-Aid-Sectional/dp/B003EMC1GW Also if you find an Arizona Babywearing forum--the person said it was a popular thing to do in Arizona.

A hanging shoe rack like this one would be cool. That way she could roll up the wraps and put them in there so they don't drag on the ground from a hook. It'd work for other carriers too if you rolled them up.

As a proud owner of this, OOOH I WANT DAT

The Roocoat is one option. It fits over both you and the baby, and keeps baby warm with your own body heat. Not so aesthetically pleasing, perhaps, but you and your husband might both be able to fit.

I hook a diaper clutch to the waist strap of my ergo when I'm out and about doing errands and such. Fits a few diapers and wipes, my wallet, a folding fan (hot south), and a light blanket or burp cloth. Plus i usually have a toy hooked on the handle. I keep a normal big, stuffed diaper bag in the car with extra clothes, snacks, sunscreen, etc. If I am making a big day of it, I also have a camel pack backpack for water for both of us and snacks, sunscreen and a change of clothes.
Clutch like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Skip-Hop-Portable-Changing-Cushioned/dp/B00B7XUVOE

Edit: mind you, I have zero problem looking like a pack mule going on a hike, so YMMV.

I'm intending to buy this kit from Amazon for less than $20. Does it look like it'd to the job for you?

Beck toddler because my daughter is 18 months. I really loved my beco soleil. The toddler is basically a larger version.

Beco Soleil Baby Carrier - Plus One https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0182Z369Q/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_SRqnxbG2598N2

Beco just sold to boba so they will be discontinuing this model! I am crushed!! I tried on a lot of carriers before I found this, I LOVE beco!!!

Balboa sling. It's like ring sling with no adjustments needed. Just throw it over your shoulder , as easy as putting on a purse

Balboa Baby Dr. Sears Adjustable Sling, Signature Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001Q80GO0/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_Ft0Uub044SBJZ

We bought this! We bought the size up though so we didn’t have to buy it twice. It has a drawstring in the back to tighten and two strings that tie around the neck!

i play. Baby Flap Sun Protection Swim Hat, White 9-18 months https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000PHANNM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_NEHUCb9P5BZ1A

I got this one, and I’ve been very happy. Just wash it alone, since it bleeds when washed.Ring Sling

I was thinking of holding her like this so we could both sleep. If she's cradled rather than upright, (basically how she would be in my arms...but using the wrap as support) her airways aren't in danger....right? I'm a FTM so I'm new to all of this!
