I use the MS Sidewinder X5. I've had mine for about two years, I love it.

It has weights that you can swap out, the spare weights are stored in a little box that also holds a spare set of mouse feet. In that same box there is a channel to run your mouse cable through. I have the heaviest weights in mine and it feels great.

It has two thumb buttons and three programable buttons on top to set DPI on the fly. I have mine set to 2000 dpi, 1600 dpi and 800 dpi, it's really handy.

It's on sale on amazon right now (link above) for $35.50 (reg 79.99). I also had an old wireless Logitech MX1000 which was great (recharged by resting in a cradle) and the Logitech G7 (had two batteries, one goes in mouse, other goes in hub to charge - really fast to swap batteries when the one in mouse died). I'd recommend either of these as well.

Sure thing. I didn't even remember what they were called. After some searching, it seems Amazon either bumped up the price ($30 new) or it was a good sale when I bought them 2 years ago. Other sites list them much closer to what I remember, but they are out of stock almost everywhere everywhere but Amazon.

I'll tell you what though. Even though my headset is in great condition, I will have upgraded by August 7. If you'd like, you can have mine on 2 conditions.

1943 is pretty awesome. But pick it up anyways 30$ is pretty cheap i think but you get 7 map paks free if you buy the ultimate edition.

Cheap, effective, and I can hear the TV just fine with it on.

I use this headset on PC. Absolutely love that headset. I don't use the built in VOIP chat though, usually me and a couple friends are using the Steam chat.

For reference here is the one I use on my Xbox one launch version. Im 99% sure it's 7200rpm. The game runs very well at 30fps rarely dropping for me.

Don't know if you knew this or not, but you can get a USB connector to link with a 360 controller, or a controller with a USB cord built in, so that you can play your PC games with a 360 controller.... a buddy of mine does this, can't get used to the kb/mouse combo, but he wants the raw grafical power available on the PC...

This is what I bought. It makes a bit more noise, but the speed is adjustable.. it fixed it straight off!

You don't need a mic (just listening to people talk is helpful on its own), but you might want to consider getting one. You can get a crappy one for $3 and an excellent one for $15.

Being a sound engineer has it's perks when playing BC2 engineer. :D

only thing is, you can't activate it on Steam, but you can add it to Origin.

I bought an Audio Force Feedback Gaming Headset and was blown away by the audio detail in this game. The deep bass is augmented by the rumble which feels/sounds incredible.

My head shakes when tanks rolls by.
