Those volleyball shoes were the exact shoes that I purchased as my first badminton shoe. They served their purpose and had decent lateral support but were pretty heavy for badminton. I played with one of my friends yonex power cushion shoes and there was a night and day difference. I ended up getting these(see link below) which are not as good as those yonex shoes but better than those volleyball shoes

Next time I need shoes I’m going with those better yonex ones

I'm not sure what you mean by soft grips. There are two main types of grips though.

You have towel grips, which are made of exactly what it sounds like.

Then you have synthetic grips which are like a rubber feeling thing. Those are like the grip on your current racket. Some are more rubbery feeling, some have holes, etc... There are many types and you usually have to try a bunch out to find one you like.

The towel grips will probably beat your hands up more if you're already having problems. I think most people only move to towel grips at higher levels. You need grip powder to help hold it. There's a learning curve there, so I would recommend just staying with synthetic grips for now.

You can also help by padding under your grip. So you strip away the grip so that you see the wood, then many people put this product:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Victor-Cushion-Wrap-GR-50-Under/dp/B01CQVGTR8

You can find this as a first aid product as well, you don't need to buy the Victor brand stuff. Basically you put a layer of saran wrap on the bare wood to protect it from moisture, then you put a bit of this cushion wrap to give it a bit of padding/squish, then you put a thin overgrip on it. The grip grip will have a bit of give to it now and it won't feel as hard in your hand.

Plus I just find the grips that come on rackets are not great. I was just demoing a racket and even though it was brand new one and the grip was pristine, it still scraped up my thumb far more than my own rackets would.

The Senston N80 rackets on Amazon are a pretty great value imo. They're not $20 heavy steel trash like you'd find in a local store. I got two for guests and I end up playing with it a lot over my $100 Yonex Voltric 7. I like the lighter head sometimes.

You can buy grip-finishing tape. It basically looks like electrical tape, but it's narrower. I've used this one and it works absolutely fine;

It looks like it's available in the US as well:

Personally, the first place I always check is Amazon purely because of the free shipping and often cheaper price. You do have to be careful because some listings are counterfeit but Amazon is very good with returns and will always choose the customer over the seller. I just checked the Yonex Nanoray 10F listing here and it's legitimate: https://www.amazon.com/Yonex-Badminton-Pre-strung-Half-length-NR10F-RED/dp/B06WWLXG17/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

You can also check out badminton warehouse but I haven't personally used them to purchase a racket so I can't attest to them.

This APACS Virtuoso Light racket is cheap and good in my opinion. Good for dropshots and clearing shuttles from the back of the court.

If you're asking for something similar to the Victor GR-50 cushion wrap, "pre-wrap for athletic tape" is something very similar and available from amazon for cheap (in the US at least). For example: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01AGSVYUK/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_DlLVCb2J8NR6W

Konmat Badminton Rackets 30 LBS Tension Graphite-Fiber 9U 58g Badminton Rackets (Green+Without String) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QNBG5SW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_rBR1Db44TJH42

One of my favorite lightest racket.

https://www.amazon.com/Gamma-Tennis-Stringing-Machine-Silver/dp/B002N1SMOU/ is the machine I have,
and you can see my review of it here:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R3205XPPJO2P7O/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B002N1SMOU

I haven't tried any other non-professional machines extensively so unfortunately I can't compare it to other brands.
