Mike's Grand opening online sale event starts tomorrow night. Upon reviwing the deals, many people agreed that the RX 580 Nitro+ seems to be one of the better ones.
I am curretnly working on my first build, and it's coming together well but still have the more expensive parts coming up. I will be going with an RX 580/GeForce 1060. The Nitro+ seems to have one of the best performances overall, and also does well with temperatures and noise.
Now the question is, according to the link above, it will be on sale for $330 at the sale event tomorrow night. Am I missing something? Why is everyone saying it's such a great deal? The products is, but is the deal really that good? It is curretnly for $350 at [Mike's shop itself] (https://www.mikescomputershop.com/product/8382159) and [Amazon] (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B071QX74F9/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&psc=1).
If anything, the Pulse seems to be a better deal money and discount wise. What's the big promotion here besides $20 off? Is it a must buy for someone in my position, or is it a passable deal and I could gamble on something better in the next few weeks over those $20 off?
I'm not an audiophile by any means but I tried the HD 4.50 at Best Buy and thought they were pretty good. I think they're a fantastic choice if you're on a budget for a good noice cancelling headphone. They've been price around $200-250 on Amazon for the past 2-3 months. Cheapest it's been was $130 a long time ago (posted on this sub).

That said, the HD 4.40 is also on sale for $109.95, but I don't know if this is a good deal as I didn't follow the price trend.
https://www.amazon.ca/Sennheiser-HD-4-40-BT-Bluetooth/dp/B01MSZSJE9/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1542970731&sr=1-2&keywords=hd+4.40

I have these speakers hooked up to my 55" 4k TV. They're very good for the price. Very clear mids and highs, bluetooth connectivity so you can swap to bluetooth mode and play songs from your phone or Google Home when you want, and a subwoofer out so you can upgrade the system with a sub when you find a good deal on a good one. I bought a $250 12" sub to go with the system a few months after getting it and the combo of a good sub with a good sound system, as my father described it, "sounds like a theatre".
They're normally $250, I bought a set for $130 used on Kijiji, so $175 new is a rather good deal.
If you're looking for good audio with an attached microphone, this is definitely the one to get. If you don't need all the frills of the Cloud, the Cloud Core is only $59 on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.ca/Kingston-HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset/dp/B0153XL4V2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1473300999&sr=8-1&keywords=hyperx+headset
Alternatively, Cloud II has USB adapter for 7.1 audio and a better headband, definitely worth the price.
https://www.amazon.ca/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1473300999&sr=8-2&keywords=hyperx+headset
After going through almost half a dozen pairs of gaming headphones, I don't think I could go back after using the HyperX. It's comfortable, light, sounds amazing, and has a good microphone.

Anyone who bought this have experience OC'ing the refresh rate?
Currently I have the Samsung [C32HG70] (https://www.amazon.ca/Samsung-C32HG70-32-Inch-Curved-Monitor/dp/B06XT6WQCJ) but was thinking of getting a monitor similar to mine for my brother (2K+, 60Hz+ or overclockable, and hopefully bigger than 27"). I was thinking of getting him the same one as mine or this one (maybe?). If you have another suggestion that also fits the bill better would appreciate it. Thank you!
This is now also available from Amazon at the same price (black only): https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B071YZJ1G1/
To the people hesitating between the OG MX Master and the 2S, I highly recommend the 2S. Better battery life (rated for 70 days if used 8hrs/day), the programmable thumb button per app has some unexpected advantages (I have it do some shortcuts on my IDE depending on motion) if you take some time to set it up. It sounds gimmicky but I ended up loving it. My girlfriend has it switch between sheets on Excel, and control music settings from the desktop.
Of course, all of this can be accomplished through keyboard shortcuts but this makes it faster/easier and doesn't require you to do crazy DDR moves with your fingers.
I'm building a new high end pc from the ground up. Should I be taking advantage of any of these sales? I feel like the mouse and power supply are automatic purchases but I'm a newbie so I wanted to see if I can get any help here first. Sorry if this is filling up the discussion post.
SSD
I read that the crucial's aren't good because once you reach 75% capacity it dramatically slows your pc down? Also, don't know if external SSDs are recommended but should I bite on that SanDisk?
Samsung 1TB 860 EVO
Crucial P1 1TB m.2 SSD
SanDisk 1TB Portable External SSD
Power Supply
Corsair RM850x, 850 Watt Gold Certified Fully Modular Power Supply
Cooler
I don't even know if I will need a coouler, and if I want to go liquid cooling route, and I don't care about RGB, but for a high end pc I'm assuming I should buy?
Corsair H115i RGB Platinum AIO Liquid CPU Cooler
Mouse
This seems like the best deal on a mouse no?
Logitech® MX Master 2S Wireless Mouse
RAM
Was actually looking for 32GB RAM, should I pass since if I go AMD mobo route, having to use more than 2 will cause a slowdown right?
Ballistix Elite 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR4 3600 MT/s
Amazon (PRIME) has it for $349.99 as well

How good is this card? I've been looking to get a 1060 6GB OC, but this looks as good or better for roughly the same cost?
Can't speak to this ram kit but for overclocking/value the Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200CL16 kit is still really good if you can get B-Die. It's $110 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B072LX99L9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Currently using it with my 3700x on B450 Pro Carbon AC. With minimal effort I've got it at 3733CL16 @ 1.35v, getting very good AIDA scores: https://imgur.com/dbgo0Iu

What budget are you looking at?
If you're cheap Refurbished Logitech G230 I used a set of these and was pretty happy with them aside from the clamping pressure on the head. Mic was decent and cord was very long.
Next I'd say the HyperX cloud Stinger which usually is in the $50-$65 range.
A little bit more money gets the Corsair HS50 These are pretty good and don't scream GAMER
A little bit better, the HyperX cloud cores are no longer quite the "budget" option they were a few years back, sadly the price has gone up, they're still decent.
You can also find the HyperX Cloud IIs on sale for around $95-$99 which come with some extras. Sadly they're not on sale right now and I can't recommend them at current prices.
Over $100 The Sennheiser GSP 302 are good (I'm using them right now), mic is great, decently comfy, and sound decent. I believe they are based of the old HD558 drivers but I'm not 100% sure on that.
Anything higher than these I'd go with standalone headphones and a dedicated microphone, but I don't really have any experiance with those so someone else should chime in.
How does this compare to these at $219? Pretty sure these are the b-die versions of the LPX, at least I hope they are... cause they’re more expensive then the other 3200 LPX ones on amazon. is there any way to tell once I’ve received them?

Do you have prime?
The HyperX Cloud Core is also on sale for $59.99+tax on Amazon as well. I just got myself a pair and they're pretty nice.
Update:

Just wanted to let you guys know I received Samsung B-Die on the first order (not exchanges necessary). Not sure if the request for 4.31 in the gift section helped. Either way, my first sub $100.00 B-Die :)

Thanks OP! Ordered another pair of Corsair Vengeance 3200Mhz (likely Samsung B-Die). Brought it under $100.00 before tax...

Didn't get any responses a couple days ago so reposting.
Anyone have an opinion on the difference between HyperX Cloud 2 and Cloud Alpha? Which is the better game for competitive FPS games? Currently using a Corsair HS60 (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B079D3WNR5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) and have no complaints but no real reference points as it's my first headset since building my PC.
Any advice or opinion appreciated. Thanks!
This is perfect for my LDR, thank you so much for posting this! :)
Edit: This is also the price on Amazon CA if you'd rather buy there!

Any thoughts on this router? Thinking of buying 2 of them. 1 for my 2 bedroom condo and 1 for my small store. Seems to have good reviews and good value for the specs?
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06XZ3S6B8 This one seems to be an extra $18 but I did read it has 512MB flash storage and 128mb ram? So the A10 does not have it? I am somewhat confused. I'd rather get a decent router than save the $20 obviously. Any suggestions?
How does something like the Intell 660p compare to this or the Silicon Power one? Seems like Intel would be fine for casual use, what is the usecase for these new brand ones?
Thanks. Any thoughts on the Crucial MX500? Had a few people recommend it as well.

Just wanted to add as a FYI - This is effectively the same speed as 3200 CL16 and 3000 CL15 which have been seen at lower prices. Higher bandwidth won't result in much real world differences if price is a major concern here.
See: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/5d009u/i_made_a_simple_table_to_help_you_pick_out_what/
EDIT: I recently got the corsair 3200 CL16, which is same effective latency as mentioned above for ~$12 less. See amazon link: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B072LX99L9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_yI3xDbB3Y3164
I had a $40 pair of turtle beeches that fell apart and sounded ok.
I now have HyperX Clouds and they're fantastic.
Cloud core
The "HyperX Cloud I" is $85 now, and is the same as the Cloud Core, but with a bunch of extra cables, a nicer box, and a 2nd set of pads (velour).
I feel like for the extra $10 it'd be worth it to go through Amazon Canada for the prime shipping and not having to deal with exchange rates.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B006JH8T3S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_KasSAb5TA9D8B
If it breaks and you bought it through Amazon UK, will Amazon Canada deal with any returns?
PX329 is a better monitor - check out what r/monitors have to say about these.
$550 is a terrible price for something like this - for ex. right now you can get the best 144hz 32" 1440p curved VA on the market for same money:
https://www.amazon.ca/Samsung-LC32HG70QQNXZA-32-Inch-Curved-Monitor/dp/B06XT6WQCJ/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=samsung+32+monitor&qid=1572613438&sr=8-3
I'd argue that the Razer DeathAdder Elite at $49.99 is probably a better mouse. Lighter, better cable, and a safer shape for the majority of users.
Is anyone able to give me some insight into the difference between these two video cards:

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B076Y93L8F/?tag=pcp0f-20&th=1 RX 570 8gb

I use a freesync capable monitor, is the RX570 worth it?

so like... is TD still running a stable business? the bankruptcy thing was usa only? did you know newegg's toronto warehouse took over tigerdirect's when they moved to markham from mississauga (happened to be near amazon)?

If you'd be willing to make the jump up to 60, then the HyperX Cloud headset is great for the money.

Any recommendations? Don't know if waiting 10 days for BF deals is worth the savings.
The [R1700BT] (https://www.amazon.ca/Edifier-R1700BT-Bluetooth-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B016PATXSI/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3E1RWE3CW4J5X&keywords=edifier&qid=1567351226&s=gateway&smid=A23AS8PFN4IRUQ&sprefix=edifier%2Caps%2C151&sr=8-4) and R1850DB are also on sale for $153 and $167 respectively.
Not quite as good as the Prime day sale, but still seems like a decent price.
The Bluetooth $113 ones OP posted, or these? Is there a significant difference?

I ordered one of these off amazon and they sent me a bunch extra so if anyone's interested I'll sell them to you for a discount. I've got 4 packs left. 16gb (8x2) each

edit: here's a pic of them
Is 356.99 a decent price for the rx 580? Comes with the 3 free games too

No difference in performance between the equivalent crucial sata drive. They're pretty comparable to the 860 as well.
If you'd prefer the traditional sata form factor the crucial drives are also the same price.

I have all the components needed to upgrade to AM4 except RAM.
Should I wait for this order That's 3 to 5 weeks away from shipping? - Ordered on sale for $109.99 https://www.amazon.ca/Corsair-CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16-Vengeance-Memory-PC4-25600/dp/B072LX99L9/
Or should I get this instead which will ship faster and costs $15 more (it also doesn't appear on my mobo's supported memory list) - https://www.amazon.ca/Patriot-Viper-3400MHz-Gunmetal-heatshield/dp/B07N47DP2D/

The first one supposedly has a chance to be a version with Samsung B-die.
Looking for wireless headphones, are these any good? I'm not an audiophile or anything, just looking for something durable and comfy.
Just dropped to $62 CAD on https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B006JH8T3S
Pretty much the same price when accounting for currency conversion.
Need a new gaming headset, under $100.
Thinking of either the Kingston HyperX Cloud Core or the SteelSeries Arctis 3. Love the look of the Arctis but the Kingston is currently 26bucks cheaper.
Any thoughts on which I should pull the trigger on?
Alright so I'm currently split between the Corsair LPX that was posted earlier and the Ripjaws V. Problem is, neither is on my motherboards QVL B350-F QVL. Does it really matter either way? It looks like very similar ram to both of the ones I mentioned is on the QVL. Which should I go for? I'm leaning towards the Corsair currently
Solid deal but you could spring for the Aorus Elite or Aorus Pro which are going for $195 and $197. They should handle a 9900K 5GHz well.
Not 1TB but hope it helps

The B-die version of this Corsair kit would be better than E-die for 3600cl14?

The 580 8GB Nitro+ will also be available for $430: https://www.amazon.ca/Sapphire-11265-01-20G-Radeon-backplate-Graphics/dp/B071QX74F9/
Is that a good price?
Does anybody think it will go lower than this? Or should I just pick it up now. This is the exact card I’ve been waiting for.
Edit: It’s also $315 on Amazon right now.
They also mention the 2 free games promo which I didn’t see on the eBay site.
https://www.amazon.ca/Sapphire-11265-01-20G-Radeon-Backplate-Graphics/dp/B071QX74F9
Any speakers worth picking up? I seen the Logitech MX Sound 2.0 for $70. Looking to replace my current Logitech 4W speakers.
Edit:
Edifier R980T 4" Active Bookshelf start @ 10:00 - No price shown yet. I will be looking to pick these up I think.
It is. If you check this for example, you'll see that there is a "Special offers" part.
I see well do you think RAM and PSU prices will go down? I am looking at this kit of Corsair RAM and it's currently on sale and this EVGA PSU which is also on sale.
this, or any of its alternatives/revisions. (Some of the newer models are more expensive)
Doesn't really matter if there are any cheaper ones, if we're talking "Gamer Headsets" instead of headphones the HyperX Cloud line is basically the only thing worthwhile.
I have an mx500 (500gb) boot + storage drive, and a 1tb XPG nvme drive for addition storage. I was surprised that 1tb nvme drives (albeing QLC) are cheaper than 1tb sata drives. Example here is a 1tb crucial drive vs the 1 tb Nvme drive I picked up

Or wait 1-2 months and get it from amazon. Because it doesn't say out of stock, you can probs price match too.
On sale on amazon.ca as well - Logitech C920 Webcam HD Pro (960-000764) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B006JH8T3S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_zK3oDbKSPX5QB

Now also same price at Amazon, prime-only. https://www.amazon.ca/Sapphire-11265-01-20G-Radeon-Backplate-Graphics/dp/B071QX74F9
If you look at one of the Amazon reviews... someone just bought it a week or two ago and reported B-Die.

Also the link you provided isn't even the same RAM. That one is B3200, I was linking the Z3200. Corsair uses this code to denote Ryzen specific RAM.
It's been that price on Amazon since September 21. The M.2 version is actually cheaper at $199.99.
Same price on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Intel-660p-1-0TB-80mm-978350/dp/B07GCL6BR4
