The internet community has gotchu!! It's how I cheered myself through my insertion :) I also highly recommend a hot water bottle/bag to rest on your abdomen after the insertion, mine helped allll the cramps and twinges I felt later that day and night!

I have a copper IUD and I use both reusable pads and thinx. I only use them as backup or on lighter days, so I can't attest to how well they hold up on their own, but I've heard good things!

These are the pads I have:

I highly recommend- I could never go back to normal pads now.

Birth control can affect hair thickness/growth. But so can a number of other things, so if the change is significant I recommend checking in with your doctor.

Castor oil might help you combat it. This one is my favorite. I like to put some in a bowl, heat it up (helps your scalp absorb it), put it all over my scalp first and then get the rest of my hair with it aand throw a cap on for a few hours till I wash it out.

I use Boric Acid Suppositories when things start feeling off. I had about three infections back to back for a while and it sucked. Smelled horrible, itching, the works... it was embarrassing as all hell. I also go condomless and he finishes inside me; there’s no way I’m going to give either of those up, lol.
You pop one in your vagina at night (make sure you’re done with sex for the day) and let it dissolve. There’s a little bit of goop in the morning, but it’s not too bad. Just in case: DO NOT TAKE THESE ORALLY.
I’ve had a lot of luck with this one: pH-D Boric Acid Suppositories
You can use it as often as you like. I was using a couple times a week at first. After things normalized for me, I’ll do it maybe about once or twice a month. I keep a bottle in my night stand for good measure.

Edit: I too am an IUD user (copper/nonhormonal). I’ve had mine in for about a year and a half. Been doing the suppositories for about a year now.

I hope your IUD works out well for you! BC and I had a long and not so great relationship, so now I'm not using anything and deal with very heavy period and acne now because of it. I find myself missing it once a month.

In case you're looking for more period panties, I'd recommend these because they work just as well and are far less expensive. They have a thong too.

Maybe it sounds a little silly but could you use something like a cigarette case? Something like this?

The only pill cases I found were small ones that you'd have to pre-popout the pills to use or ones made of fabric.

Ibuprofen is typically more effective for cramps than acetaminophen, but you can also take both at the same time. Applying heat to your abdomen should help too. I use either a hot water bottle if I'm at home or heating pads if I'm out. The discharge is normal in my experience.

Hey! Ugh, that sucks, sorry to hear that you have to stick with it for the time being due to financial reasons. I bought this kind on Amazon, which I actually even use during my period (and only have to change maybe 3 times a day during the heaviest times of my period?) So for my flow, they have more than enough absorbency for spotting/light flow. I would DEFINITELY recommend the kind with bamboo fleece for absorbency -- I have another set that doesn't have an absorbent core, and they are less comfortable and more prone to leakage.

I bought these they're nothing special but the price gives me the freedom to take a test whenever I'm nervous

u/georgemcday · 2 pointsr/birthcontrol

I buy these, but that’s just because I have a ladystache and it’s $5, lol.

hello! i bought my evening primrose oil tablets here on amazon. as i stated in my original post, i am taking 1300mg once a day, the recommended dosage on my supplement bottle.

My scalp gets this way, didn't even think I could credit it to my mirena!
But I was given a sample of TSAL Shampoo and it has changed my world. 2 weeks now without a single itch and all the bumps have faded away. I would give it a try!

If you’re interested in a cranberry pill, I don’t have a preference of brand I just find one that I only have to take one capsule and with at least 500mg cranberry.
