/u/YeezusUnchained - I'm guessing you have the BMCC with the EF mount? If so, you need a much wider lens than your 35mm and 85mm. Depends on your budget, but I recommend a [$399 Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 for EF mount] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007ORXEIW//ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) for results like this:

  • [BMCC Tokina 11-16 Test by Fabrice LAU Production] (https://vimeo.com/66545104) (1080p)

  • [East Austin - Blackmagic Cinema Camera Test by Kyle Osburn] (https://vimeo.com/64143662) (1080p - shot with the Tokina 11-16 and Rokinon 85mm)

  • [Tokina 11-16 test on the BMC by Greg Faris] (https://vimeo.com/53714908) (720p)

This lens will give you great results at the wide end with the BMCC.

Hope this is helpful and good luck finding the right lens for your needs!

Are you looking for a desktop or laptop? Just added an alienware r4 15 editing station like this(https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-15-AW 15R4-15-6-FHD-1070-16GB/dp/B07D6G2T1K) that I picked up lightly used for about $1000. Add a decent 2nd monitor and a NAS and you are off. I am editing a two camera (UMPG2 and pocket 4k) video at uhd and it is performing very well.

I see. That AMD card is quite cheap and looks workable, but I wouldn't expect it to be the panacea. I'm also considering the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1660 Ti:

Maybe that one will be more of your kind of card?

EDIT: I've just seen this other one, which I think might be better, the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 WINDFORCE OC 6G:

This HDMI splitter solved all my issues https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003UYOEMI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Seems to totally bypass HDCP. It is still enabled in the PS4 OS, and Amazon Instant Video app worked too.

I use a cheap external drive for editing and current project files. I usually don't do "generate optimized media" unless it's really slowing me down because the process takes a long time itself and you can't do anything while it's rendering. I use prores proxy at half resolution to save space since it's just for editing.

Then I backup the editing drive, when I remember to, to a larger storage drive so I at least have that in case the portable one craps.

I use this for mine. It is the only one that I could find that transfers pretty close to the actual speed the SSD is capable of. Really cheap solution as well. Just be careful with USB C, some cables transfer at USB 2.0 speeds. I can vouch for this product that it transfers fine at proper speeds. The only downside is that the cable is short, but you can get an extension for it if it isn't enough, but again, make sure you're paying attention. I hate USB C cables... they're not very straight forward.

If you buy the Canon lp-e6 batteries I'd say get the Wasabi brand. They're much cheaper and I've gotten them recommended to me A LOT.

The Ursa Mini Pro uses a USB-C connection.

This cable (or similar) should get the job done: https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Ultra-USB-C-Black/dp/B00S8GU2OC/
