No adversarial intentions: note that you are wasting a lot of efficiency in the unnecessary DC to AC to DC conversion, and you are carrying around extra circuitry and extra heat sink weight. You'd be a lot better off if you just carried a battery of similar voltage to what the adapter outputs. Some tinkering required.

UPDATE: here's some update to counter the criticism.

  1. The original brick that Boosted sells you is not just a transformer + rectifier, it's a two-phase charger from a manufacturer called Mean Well. It uses a standard two-phase charge method: first constant current, then constant voltage. https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/260/GC120-SPEC-1292126.pdf
  2. There is a manufacturer of battery-powered landscaping tools called EGO that uses battery packs at 56 volts. Even Home Depot carries them. They make battery packs in different capacities ranging from 2Ah to 10Ah, and they even make a huge backpack with 28Ah.https://egopowerplus.com/power-batteries-chargers/ https://egopowerplus.com/battery-7-5amp/https://egopowerplus.com/commercial-backpack-battery/ This is all stuff you can buy off the shelf.

You can't connect the EGO battery pack into the Rev input connector because if the battery is low enough, the voltage difference will cause an excessive initial current inrush and (at the very least!) damage the Rev battery. Ideally you need a DC-DC Li-ion Charger that implements the same phases as the Mean Well. There's none available on the market, and I checked really really well, but you don't have to despair.

You can regulate the charge process BY HAND. I've done it in the past. I've even revived dead sealed lead-acid batteries using a laboratory power supply. There's plenty of them. Any of them would work in your case, but they all take home AC as input. You want a DC input one. The solution is:

  1. use a DC-DC buck regulator like this one: https://www.amazon.com/DROK-Adjustable-Regulator-Stabilizer-Transformer/dp/B0744BT79M
or even better, this one: https://www.amazon.com/Converter-DROK-Regulator-Constant-Adjustable/dp/B01MSJQAKY

The buck converter is really easy to use: it has buttons to set mode (constant current or constant voltage) and up-down buttons to set what limit.

USAGE: you want to limit the initial current to 1/2C; the internal Rev battery should have a C of 8.5A approx; so you want to stay safe and limit initial current to 4A. You set 4A in the display as current limit, and you let the charge ramp up. In the meanwhile you observe the voltage increase. As the Rev battery will charge, current will decrease. Now you need to limit voltage to make sure you don't overcharger. Set an appropriate limit to the DC-DC converter and you are done.

According to the WireCutter’s testing KRYPTONITE is the best - but keep their assessment in context - the best only affords a couple of minutes security given aggressive lock cutting. You can read the analysis here: Best Bike Lock

I personally own: Kryptonite New York Lock Fahgettaboutit Mini 18mm U-Lock Bicycle Lock

Hope that helps.

I just received my rev, and it seems like since the hub motors are kind of in the way, a lot of pump valves might not fit in there. You may need to get a Schrader extension (something like this) depending on what your pump is like. I ordered that extension that I linked, but haven’t gotten it yet so I can’t be positive that it will fit-but it looks like it will.

Edit: never mind, rev comes with valve extenders in the box, I didn’t notice them at first.

Like what the other redditor said, bend it back. However, I'd like to add that you should probably heat it up (i.e. dunk in a boiling water for a few minutes) use tongs to grab it, and then place it somehwere that is heat resistant, smooth surface, and then hammer tap it until it reshapes straight again. If that's too much of a hassle, I just examined the brake disc and it seems oddly similar to my Xiaomi M365, so maybe buy a replacement part at amazon such as the link below (you can always return if it doesn't fit):

HTOMT Brake Disc Sets Replacement Parts Accessories for Same Size of Xiaomi M365 Pro Electric Scooter, 110MM(6 Holes) Rear Brake Disc Pad and Universal Caliper with Screw Kits (Black(6 Holes)) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TF6483G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dyvCDbR497NXF

But, you still have that 12 month warranty, so maybe call boosted up and tell them your situation. Maybe they'll send a replacement part and for free!

Yeah it looks like when you put it back in a gap still exists. I would do "D" above, and just and rotate the clamp 180 degrees and spend time getting it flush. Also using that little hex wrench they give you looks super tedious/painful :). Consider picking up one of these, much, much faster: https://www.amazon.com/Bondhus-15264-T-Handle-ProGuard-Finish/dp/B002NLX63C/.

Bummer though you're having to deal with that - good luck.

The kryptonite brand is ok as far as security. I recommend Abus u-lock which are manufactured in Germany.

I personally use a small one:

ABUS ULock Granit xplus 54 key 5.5in shakle/13mm diameterDamaged Packaging https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SWAJT16/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_jhwFDb9KC1G61

Has a 15/15 international safety rating.

I see misinformation on here.

People do not use gas station compressors to fill bike tires not because the compressor is not powerful enough but because the compressors distribute too much air too quickly. It is easy to overfill your tires and have them burst (I have seen this happen). Plus the gauges just aren't very accurate. You can use a gas station compressor to fill bike tires if you are very careful.

I do not have a Rev, but if I did I would use a proper bicycle pump with a gauge like this one.

Am I the only one that rocks full face? I’m sure we’re all doing top speed on this pretty consistently.

I’m rocking the Bell Super 3R https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GT6QLTT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_BsUNDbXC43C4Z

I'd say a majority of the videos I've seen of people falling off of scooters is when they take a hand off of the handle bar. I don't know if the handle bar ends come out but perhaps something like this could work.

That model is likely overkill to charge ~50%...sounds like you really only need a small top up (20% or so) to get you back home under power:

This one would almost certainly get you what you need to get home under power:

https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Jackery-PowerBar-Universal-Compatible/dp/B07F119R6P/ref=sr_1_13?keywords=portable+laptop+ac+battery+charger&qid=1571105532&sr=8-13

I suspect this would get you 15-20% increase in charge over what you pulled in from your commute with.

if you wanted to go with one of the hefty jackery ones, this one would likely get you 60% from 0 or more charge into the battery of the rev (67k mah):

https://www.amazon.com/Jackery-Portable-Power-Station-Generator/dp/B07D29QNMJ/ref=pd_bxgy_86_img_3/136-2471141-6721145?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07D29QNMJ&pd_rd_r=5a05793c-d5db-4525-bb61-cb980e68e1a8&pd_rd_w=zT417&pd_rd_wg=jYB1X&pf_rd_p=09627863-9889-4290-b90a-5e9f86682449&pf_rd_r=3XT0KTAE3RDV0FDAV2RY&psc=1&refRID=3XT0KTAE3RDV0FDAV2RY

no need to spend 425 USD.

PS: this one is crazy cheap and would likely charge you to at least 60% from 0 (great reviews to boot) - at 64.8k mah slightly less mah than Jackery hefty one, but nearly identical spec wise, and much cheaper:

https://www.amazon.com/Rockpals-250-Watt-Generator-Rechargeable-Emergency/dp/B075SSMR6K/ref=pd_cp_86_4/136-2471141-6721145?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B075SSMR6K&pd_rd_r=44eeb9b7-24bb-43b9-8c6a-26adef14b6cb&pd_rd_w=YNe82&pd_rd_wg=nhtvD&pf_rd_p=0e5324e1-c848-4872-bbd5-5be6baedf80e&pf_rd_r=WCZPCS731EJZM70705MS&psc=1&refRID=WCZPCS731EJZM70705MS

I may even give that a go for the price!

Source: I own this one and it charges my rev from 50% to about 95% (42k mah, while the two bigger guys above are around ~65k mah):

https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Outlet-Battery-Pack-ChargeTech/dp/B06Y3NF7N2/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=chargetech+42000&qid=1571106042&s=electronics&sr=1-1

I can't recommend the one that I own...had some issues with it.

Im using the Tansoren 4000 Bike Light. Link Bellow. Stock lights dont do much elimination and doest have a strobe mode. I like these:

While all locks are simply a deterrent, not really protection adding this to your bag with a u-lock or beefy hardened chain lock would help keep your scooter yours.

Also, I would never lock my scooter up for more than 5 minutes, max. If I'm going to in somewhere for more than that the scooter stays home or goes in with me.

I just received my scooter today and I put on a GUB 6 phone holder on the left hand side next to the bell. It fits perfectly! I haven’t tested it much yet but it seems pretty sturdy and doesn’t really shake too badly.
