I actually just got these a few days ago and my first impressions were not great, but I think it was just that I wasn’t used to them. I have worn them most of this week and can say that, overall, they’re not bad (but still very pricy). They definitely have a huge advantage both in ANC and in phone calls, so that helps a lot. It’s hard to tell without good side by side comparison, but the sound is definitely better; it may be subjective, but to me I can more easily separate out the sounds and instruments in the newer ANC 700’s vs. the QC35 II’s.

Comfort: They just feel different. Not necessarily worse. And thanks to the advice in this thread, I also tried some stretching as well. I will say that, unlike the older headphones, I can feel my ears touching the speakers in the ANC 700’s which is a little annoying if you have sound off and, for example, you’re eating or chewing gum or something (since then they rub and you feel/hear it).

Convenience: I noticed that the QC’s are WAY quicker to turn on and tell you the battery. I don’t care about the boot up sound. I don’t care about the shutdown sound. I like switches. I also like that I can use my magnetic USB connector on the QC’s, whereas for some reason the newer ANC 700’s like to turn on when plugged in with the magnetic charging cables that I use (basically one of these). Also, the button placement sucks and the cups are’t as easy to handle, so you have to be careful how you pick them up. I also found these much easier to fumble with and potentially drop, too.

Also, back on the topic of switches: Just a moment ago I turned them on to use with my iPad and they didn’t connect automatically. With the good old QC’s, all I have to do is flip the switch until it says “iPad” and then it’ll connect. However, I will say that my QC’s tend to be buggy and the NC 700’s have been smooth and intuitive thus far, and connecting is still easily done manually in iOS settings.

Overall I think I’ll keep them instead of returning them at Best Buy, since I

Hey there. Sorry for the delay since I was traveling. I tried the earbuds out at Sony Store Ginza during the Headphone Park event and was impressed. They didn't seem to mask as much noise as my QC35, BUT I was also using the silicon eartips. I didn't have a chance to try to foam.

I was impressed by how light they were and that they didn't fall out when I shook my head -- Apple wireless AirPods and wired EarPods don't fit my ears well and always fall out. I'd imagine they're more comfortable in lie-flat business to sleep with than the QC35.

I've also resigned to lack of aptX and LDAC. I think AAC and SBC will be fine since it probably means better range, improved connectivity, and longer battery life. FWIW, QC35 also lacks aptX and LDAC, and I only listen to podcasts with Google Podcasts and Overcast by Marco Armeny, listen to music with Google Play Music / YouTube Music, and watch video streaming like YouTube TV, YouTube Premium, Netflix, HBO NOW, etc. The devices I use are Apple iPad Pro 10.5, Google Pixel 3a XL and OnePlus 7 Pro.

Yes, I pre-ordered on Amazon for $185 (lower cost than Sony Ginza Duty Free 25880¥ or $240) with a few promotions I had ($5 Amazon gift card credit, $10 Whole Foods credit and a discount with use of 1 American Express Membership Reward point). Sony WF-1000XM3 Industry Leading Noise Canceling Truly Wireless Earbuds, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T81554H/

I also snagged a Bluetooth transceiver during Prime Day that seemed to have numerous decent reviews. It'll come in handy for IFE. $23.11 was the lightning deal. TaoTronics Bluetooth 5.0 Transmitter and Receiver, 2-in-1 Wireless 3.5mm Adapter (aptX Low Latency, 2 Devices Simultaneously, For TV/Home Sound System) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EHSX28M/

Just in case, I also bought some foam eartips during Prime Day that seemed to be a good value. I hope they fit. $5.59 was the lightning deal. 12Pcs Replacement Eartips- RIYO Premium Memory Foam Earphone Earbuds Tips Noise Reducing Earbud Tips for 5mm-7mm in-Ear Headphones Nozzle (Large, Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071NJQ6J3/

QUESTION FOR YOU: Is QC20 noise canceling better than QC35? I've always understood that it was, but the QC35 seems to be more popular since it's wireless.

u/ckrad · 2 pointsr/bose

Do you have the Xbox One already? If you buy it brand new, the controller will have the 3.5mm socket already, but for some reason it doesn't like the QC35's and you have to plug it in really, really slowly (it's best to have some audio playing like a title screen of a game so you can hear the music pop in) but if you want to save that trouble here is the Stereo Adaptor and here is the QC25 Android Cable i purchased, i can assure you that it works. and yes the microphone works too.

>His insecurity of being without ears in the interim (while he moves from his traditional hearing aid to Bose hearphones) is daunting. His words "it's a blackout as soon as I switch them off."

I'm so happy to be of some support in this situation.

  1. Re: Tips - My parent had the same issue - and it's something I'm trying to address now. Tried the Bose official ones that are small - but don't do the trick. However there are now a lot of third-party vendors specifically for Bose related headphone ear tips. A super quick search on amazon brought me here:although they are addressing generally bose in-ear headphone tips - I think* hear phones have the same general design and these apply to them - but I would do more research.

  2. Insecurity - In the beginning, I wasn't that aware or compassionate -- obviously, that changed as I become more engaged. In my experience with my parent, the most upsetting thing without a hearing aid (headphones or traditional) is how debilitating their desire to socialize/engage becomes. I had found out about the loss of a 2nd hearing aid after witnessing how reclusive my parent started to act. It was an attempt to avoid becoming embarrassed over looking confused if someone was speaking to them and they could understand. It really opened my eyes to how much suffering that goes on if there is no awareness/empathy/sympathy about the condition, and the paywall to address it is a whole other matter -- sort of why I was so motivated to respond to your post. His adjustment I hope is just a matter of time - I wish there was another solution.

  3. I think you are right - "cacophony" and "acclimation" are the two keywords. I am not a Doctor but I believe it does take time for the brain to hone in on the signal from all the noise, so to speak. Perhaps starting with a controlled environment where the sound is intentional and not random as it is in daily life - like in a movie theater or watching a movie at home. it may train the ear and brain to focus on what is important to hear in a controlled environment. This is just a thought though. Let me know how things progress, I am here for you to troubleshoot. I hope vise versa :-).
u/LinksAwkwardBrother · 2 pointsr/bose

I've been using this, and it works great. I have been searching for a good solution for over a year, this is the first I'm actually happy with.

The switch also support arc!

u/nKoshi · 1 pointr/bose

Cool thanks a bunch!
I have looked around online as well as ask around a bit and after a bit of research it seems you definitely need a bluetooth 4.0 dongle. All the people I've read about that had working ones seemed to have that in common. That would explain why my cheap on from König did not work as it was 2.0 and why yours works perfectly.

I bought this one.
I'll post the results once I've given it a test run to see if my 4.0 theory is roughly correct.

Oh, probably not since apple is evi.l I just assumed it would work with all computers with intel cpu.If you have a 2015 or older mac, you can look at https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Mac/MacBook-Pro-Retina-2015-Airport-Bluetooth-Board/IF123-048?o=1 , it's should be the latest network card used in macbooks before they switched to adding networking to the logic board - it is insanely expensive since it's a proprietary mac component vs. the 9260, which is unlucky. You'll also get better connection for wifi with this. Check to make sure you don't already have this in your mac. Also, not too sure about it's specs. I just searched for newest networking card incase yours is fairly old. It's probably Bluetooth 4.0, which shouldn't be an issue since the headphones don't have the best BT either. The new chips, just ensure that your networking card isn't causing the bottleneck. Also, helps with increasing BT range and stability.

Audio only bluetooth 5.0 adapters are a lot cheaper, do some more research into the products before buying, since I just pulled the first two from amazon that were mac compatible.

This one seems more convenient as it's not dangling from the 3.5m audio port on your computer, like the 2nd one.

Sounds like the battery is shot, unfortunately. If it appears to be charging when you plug it in to the charging port on the side or by using the dock, the charger is probably fine.

The original mini does have a replaceable battery - although I don't know if Bose still sells the replacement. You can find a third-party replacement battery if search Amazon for "Bose Soundlink Mini battery" - a USA brand called "Emaks" ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077FQLCH8 ) makes one for relatively cheap. My original mini still works thankfully - so I haven't tested that one out - but it gets good reviews if you're willing to replace the battery yourself, especially if you don't want to shell out money for a new speaker. The flap on the bottom pulls off and there are a few screws you'll need to take out, but the battery itself just pulls out - there are no cables or anything special with it - so it should be relatively easy to replace.

Only BT adapter I’d recommend for the QC25 is the Bolle & Raven AirMod, they made one for the QC15 originally and then when the QC25 came out they released one for those as well. It’s discrete and fits the headphones perfectly as it’s custom designed.

I listen to Rock/Metal and it sounds as clear as my $20 earbuds. It's inexcusable really. Also, I'm pretty sure the sound bleeds on all sizes. I will have to re-check about that. These are the one's I got

Here are some amazon prime eligible products that I found.

  • This official Bose one for the SoundTrue headphones but in a flashy color.

  • There also this one, not official but half the price and is a 2.5mm to 3.5mm jack.

    --

I bought one of these 3.5mm to 2.5mm jack adapters that will let you use any standard 3.5mm to 3.5mm aux cable with the headphones and doesn't limit you to a very narrow selection of wires that you can use. I'm not really sure if it will fit because, but it should judging by the picture/size. You can also buy this exact same one off eBay for less than $0.99 but it takes a month to get.

I'm probably use a more durable tangle free cable when I get it, I'm not a huge fan of the cable that it comes with, ever since I first got mine, I knew that the cable it came with wouldn't last long.

I just got this Asus dongle and it is working great with my Windows 7 PC. Connected right away, hasn't dropped out, and has decent range at my office.

I also remember reading something about Bluetooth power settings about a month back, might want to look into that as well.

u/PC__LOAD__LETTER · 1 pointr/bose

Kind of late to the party here, but it looks like Bose is advertising 20 hours on the QC35 and 35 on the QC25. https://smile.amazon.com/Bose-QuietComfort-Wireless-Headphones-Cancelling/dp/B01E3SNO1G/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

u/MBHockey · 6 pointsr/bose

There is a single seller on Amazon (who is a new seller, without any reviews) that is selling a refurbished QC35. I think you just have to use a little common sense my friend (https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01E3SNO1G/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all). It's $11 less than a guaranteed genuine pair. why even take that chance?

u/SkullLeader · 1 pointr/bose

Yes, these dongles exist, they're usually tiny too - like this one: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-USB-Adapter-Bluetooth-USB-BT400/dp/B00DJ83070/ref=sr_1_10?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1482950030&sr=1-10&keywords=bluetooth+adapter

No idea about PS4 compatibility. Main issues are if your work is just going to let you install hardware on your work computer and/or the necessary drivers for it, and also depending on your operating system it may not be possible to do what you want - i.e. its usually possible to play sound from the PC to a bluetooth speaker, but not always easy or possible to play sound from a bluetooth audio source and have it come through the PC's headphones or speakers.

The Spanish and Italian amazon pages have it listed already. The Spanish page says the release date is September 26th October 8th. The price is equivalent to about $256, so hopefully we'll see it in the US for $249.

Spanish (Page taken down)

English Translation (Page taken down)

Italian (which includes additional tax in the price)

When it is release, amazon US will list it here. That page was showing up in google search results earlier this week but appears to be de-listed now.

Edit: Amazon updated the release date from September 26th to October 8th.

Thank you!

Indeed I have several questions, did your friends who owns the QC35 updated to the latest firmware?

I see all over internet people who got trouble with their ANC since Firmware 2.5.1

Here is a mega thread on the Bose forum:

https://community.bose.com/t5/Headphones-Archive/Bose-QC-35-II-firmware-2-5-1-ANC-is-terrible/td-p/116287

And it seems that a lot of people got problem with the BT: here is a link from the Amazon review

If you order them directly through Amazon.co.uk, they take them back no questions asked ... even long after the 30 days.
