Yes but I also picked up a Harmony hub when they were on sale. The whole thing is nice and simple. One remote, one button press to change to different activities. That said I believe this one also supports auto switching.

Switcher: 4K HDMI 2.0 Switch 5x1, ROOFULL 5... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0797MCCR6?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

30 ft cable: Silverback S6 4k HDMI Cable 30 ft... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MEDCNZ8?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

With this setup your going to want the best cables to go from devices to the switcher you can get or you won't get 4k. I used the cables Comcast supplied, which are 18gbps, but some older ones I had that are 18 gbps didn't work right. So if you can get something shielded that is of good quality. Also the shorter the cable to the TV the better. Honestly I'm shocked 30 ft worked - that's probably why my other cables need to be so good. I've got an Xbox one, Apple TV 4k, and a 4k Comcast box plugged in. Both 4k devices test out properly and give me full 4k. I had an error once from the Apple TV about HDMI stability but that was on the lower quality patch cable I talked about earlier, and I haven't seen it since.

I have the 65 inch model of this Sony model and I'm very happy with it but I'm still somewhat confused with the HDMI ports capabilities. Like you, I was informed that I wouldn't be able to run HDR content via ports 1 or 4 but as of right now I have my standard (not Pro) PS4 connected to HDMI 4 and I'm running Got of War in HDR10, which I didn't think I would be able to do. So, it is confusing.

Also, I was having issues with my Apple 4K TV once I switched it to Dolby Vision output (via HDMI 2). The screen flicked on and off continually. I tried various fixes without success so ended up buying new HDMI leads (the ones I already had were good quality). After doing some research I purchased two of these (10 feet) ... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GCGKK82/ ... and (touch wood!) haven't had an issue since, with a perfect picture.

One other issue I am having is that the TV states that its software is up-to-date (it's running Android 7) yet I know that Android 8 is available for it. Strange and I'm not the only owner who has experienced this issue. I am considering doing a manual update via USB but would rather have the television do it automatically.

All that said, I am more than happy with my purchase. It is a superb piece of entertainment equipment.

Ok, so I've now tried this app out, and it worked beautifully! Thanks so much. Reddit gold is coming your way.

Some comments for others who may stumble upon this thread:

  • The Buttons Remapper app doesn't show up in the Play Store on my TV so I had to sideload it, but since it's a free app (allows for two button remaps, premium is available) it's easy to just install it on another device and create your own APK backup.

  • You'll have to enable Buttons Remapper in the accessibility settings. For me, the app couldn't find those settings (likely why it was deemed incompatible with my TV) but once you enable it manually, it works just fine.

  • The app is a little awkward to use with just the remote, so I recommend using a touchpad or something that gives you mouse cursor access. This is what I use: https://www.amazon.com/Rii-Wireless-Bluetooth-Backlight-RTi8BT-3/dp/B01FXDVYU8/

No, only on certain BluRay players. Make sure the BluRay player says "4K upscale from 1080p". Of course, 1080p will still look really good, but make sure you are getting a DVD player that actually does the upscaling to 4k.

For example, the PS4 Pro will upscale 1080p BluRays to near 4K quality; however, the PS4 Slim will just natively play the BluRay at a maximum of 1080p.

Good thing is, upscaling DVD players are fairly common and cheap. This one would be ideal: BDPS6700

Get a cheap HDMI switch that supports 4K 60hz. I've been using the following switch with a PS4 Pro (with a PSVR passthrough) and a Xbox One X sharing a single HDMI port on a X930E: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XHWQLPQ/

Both devices work perfectly in 4K 60HZ 4:4:4. The switcher also supports auto-switching inputs if it detects a device being on, and there's a remote to manually switch inputs if needed.

There are tons of cheap tech brands on Amazon that have solid HDMI switchers. I've had good luck with Monoprice and StarTech, but you might be able to find a better deal somewhere.

Right-o. I'm sure it'll be fine since it's from the same seller as mine. In addition, if you have or plan to have a center channel or soundbar, this stand from Amazon is excellent. It compliments the X900E well and allows up to 10" of clearance below the screen for speakers or an avr.

Same issue here with a Sony TV, 4K AppleTV, Xbox One X, PS4, TiVo, and Sonos Beam soundbar that uses HDMI-ARC.

So I got this Caavo HDMI switcher which is better than any HDMI switcher out there, it also acts as a control center and universal remote. Ignore the monthly fee and just consider it $150 total for the unit, including lifetime service. It's a smart and elegant device and I'm very happy with it.

Yeah! I got this one.

TROND TV Bluetooth Transmitter Receiver Optical, 3.5mm Wireless Audio Adapter (Latest V4.1, AptX Low Latency for Both TX and RX, Pair with 2 Devices Simultaneously), for TV / Home Stereo System https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N9PI9T6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_WoeYCb25VSC9Y

It works perfectly. I don't know your knowledge on these so forgive me if you do, but you will need a pair of headphones or earphones that will support the APT codecs.

Just realised My Sennhieser's are only APT X and not low latency but I still cant see/hear any delay via the Trond.

I have this sound bar, but the X900F tv, and both Dolby Vision and Atmos work with my AppleTV 4K so your setup should work. I’m using the AmazonBasics High-Speed 4K HDMI Cable.

Other than trying different cables, ensure that the cable plugged into the tv is going into a port that supports all features. On the X900F this is HDMI 3, it might be similar on the 950.

Edit: I should mention that I’m also using ARC and pass through on the sound bar (i.e. the same configuration that I believe you’re using).

We put four of the bolts through studs but I added two anchors on the left side for extra support. You can pull the TV out a few inches which is helpful for getting to the inputs.

This one: https://www.amazon.ca/Yamaha-YAS108-Ultra-Slim-Component-Receiver/dp/B07D73HMVR/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=yamaha&qid=1572300371&sr=8-8&th=1

Yamaha YAS-108

Great sound, perfect voices, and ARC works without problems unlike other soundbars. I'm using it for more than a year.

By the way, I had the same problem with my 75" 900F hardly could hear voices, so it's not you, it's Sony.

u/adrianr514 · 1 pointr/bravia

I would spring for this I'ts refurbished but still comes with a small warranty and if it doesnt work you can always return it to amazon. Reviews are good and you have to remember It's a $100 bar so don't expect $500+ sound or expandability.

or this one If you want something new.

I'm using a cheap Logitech wireless keyboard that has a track pad. You have to plug in a USB module into your TV that came with the keyboard but it works great and batteries last forever. I have a 2015 XBR55X850C Bravia.

Logitech Wireless Touch Keyboard K400 with Built-In Multi-Touch Touchpad, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005DKZTMG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_IHoEzb5PA9B9Z

A quick example of the kind of setup I'd recommend.

Micca OriGain Compact Stereo Integrated Amplifier and DAC, 50W x 2, 96kHz/24-Bit, USB and Optical S/PDIF (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXV4O6B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_NmDYCbDXQCQW5

Dayton Audio B652-AIR 6-1/2" 2-Way Bookshelf Speaker with AMT Tweeter Pair https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NOA58RS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_QnDYCb3QQBX2A

This is a solid 2.0 setup. Hooks up to the tv with an optical cable, has good bass with the 6" woofers on the bookshelf speakers, and if you want to upgrade later on, the amp should last you a while.

I don't think so (correct me if I' wrong). I find this feature is quite useful and IMHO it should be available in these high level TVs. Fortunately there are some external decives which can be connected through the spdif output and allows you to connect two bluetooth headsets. For instance this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07JJCZ3WL/

Note: I've not tried this specific one :)
