These are just some tidbits I’ve learned along the road from other more smarter people than myself.

I know people like the Sapphire version of the 5700XT. Newegg is selling Ryzen 3600 for $190 if you didn’t buy it already.

Also, the G502 is $35 right now on sale at Best Buy if you didn’t buy it already/have it already.

Should be cheaper 3200 memory maybe? I haven’t checked PCPartPicker unless you’re looking for a certain aesthetic.

I actually got the Phanteks P300 (but I had to return it since I went all the way to a Mini ITX) and it was pretty awesome and weirdly small for an ATX case. People here love the Meshify C, but it’s more expensive. H500 is also good. I liked the P300 even though it’s airflow is ok. I loved the accent lighting. The Specific LED string light kit for the case is like $17 on Amazon if you’re interested later on down the line. Link.

I don’t know monitors that well, but I’ve always liked that one.

Here is a nice general GPU list at where they stand at performance. The 5700XT is usually 1080p 144hz I think. To utilize the better resolution, I think you have to bump up. Might want to fact check this.

Just to make sure. I was wondering why the air flow was so low on those fans and it’s because they’re silent. Just making sure that’s what you’re going for. There are much stronger fans for that price that aren’t silent.

I also have the 1T Intel and if you were able to get it for 90 (I think it’s on sale for 85 right now on Newegg), I would say it’s worth it over a $115 TLC drive like the Sabrent or HP at that price.

I’m also a fan of onboard WiFi. I have a (well rated) WiFi dongle on my PC that is garbage compared to the onboard WiFi I have on a super old 2012 PC. I wanna say I see that X570 on sale a lot despite it just coming out. I could be crazy though. Probably.

Just some things I noticed to make sure all is well. Good luck with everything!

So this new build I came up with is towards the top of your budget. But this shit is extremely beautiful. 2080 Ti, Full RGB, OC'able, all complete with 2.5 TB of SSD storage.

CPU: https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-7-3700x/p/N82E16819113567?Item=N82E16819113567

The Ryzen 7 3700X is an extremity of value and power. This processor can easily shred gaming tasks and can even handle heavy workstation. 8 Cores and 12 Threads give you a lot of space for multi-tasking, streaming, and editing.

GPU: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LDLQFDY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

How about a liquid-cooled GPU? The Gigabyte AORUS 2080 Ti Xtreme Water Force is a really beautiful and high-performing 2080 Ti. It is cooled by an included 240mm liquid AIO and will yield superb thermals compared to cheap base models. The 2080 Ti Xtreme will also add more RGB to your build.

RAM: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-CMW32GX4M2C3200C16-Vengeance-PC4-25600-Desktop/dp/B07GTG2T7L/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=ddr4+3600+32gb&qid=1568075251&s=gateway&sr=8-2

Keeping the Corsair-based RGB theme. The Vengeance RGB is a very popular series of RAM, and it's hard to not see why. As Ryzen now supports native 3200MHz RAM clocks, there is no reason not to buy RAM faster than 3000MHz. This kit is also a 32GB Kit, which will be more than enough for gaming as well as excelling in any memory heavy tasks (Chrome...).

SSD(1): https://www.newegg.com/hp-ex950-512gb/p/N82E16820326205?Item=N82E16820326205

The EX950 is one of the fastest SSDs out there, at a very reasonable price. The EX950 will function as your primary boot drive.

SSD(2): https://www.newegg.com/intel-660p-series-2tb/p/N82E16820167461?Description=660p&cm_re=660p-_-20-167-461-_-Product

Why not go with pure SSD storage since you got a mighty budget? The 660p provides 2TB of fast storage at a decent price, definitely worth considering.

Motherboard: https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813144261?Item=N82E16813144261

The MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge motherboard is a great motherboard, with hundreds of positive reviews. It will allow for easy overclocking. It also features on board wifi, so no wifi card bullshit.

Power Supply: https://www.newegg.com/evga-supernova-750-g5-220-g5-0750-x1-750w/p/N82E16817438162?Item=N82E16817438162

As usual, it is EVGA stealing my recommendation as the PSU choice. The SuperNOVA 750 G5 is a very high quality PSU with Japanese capacitors as well as a ten year warranty. 750 is enough to power the system, even with the RTX 2080 Ti and the Ryzen 7 3700X at Overclocked or Boost speeds.

CPU Cooler: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JWB5BSN/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

The H100i will provide great thermals, even under OC temps. The H100i Platinum also features full RGB fans, which will sync with your motherboard, RAM, GPU, Case, and LL120s.

Fan: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075VDGSJ8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Nothing to explain here, just an extra fan to fill the 680X with all RGB fans.

Case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MFR1VDN/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=A1XBPHGHAXLHDG&psc=1

This case will certain look and work will with your build. The 680X has enough space to build in as well as above-average ventilation. The 680X also has three LL120 fans included, which will sync with your other components, read the reviews on Amazon.

Monitor (Suggestion): You need a decent monitor to take full advantage of the hardware, try a 144hz 2K monitor.

Okay so you have a few options. You could pick up some of the Corsair LL120 fans and use those. However you’d need the controller that comes with some of their multi packs. I think the 3 pack with controller is quite expensive. So that may not be an option immediately. But those fans are amazing. If you went this route, you’d put one on the rear, and the other 2 on the top. But this would cause a pretty heavy pressure imbalance, so you’d want to get 2 more normal fans and put them up front.

Alternatively, Phanteks makes a product called the ‘Halos’ which are RGB fan frames which can be placed on virtually any fan. They’re fairly cost effective, considering they can be swapped to a different fan, and they work with MSI mystic light, which is the RGB controller for the motherboard.

The case has a closed front panel, so you don’t need rgb fans for the front. I’d say just the rear and/or top would be the only ones you’d want rgb. The case comes with 2 120mm fans, one in the front and one in the rear. The cpu cooler comes with 1 120mm fan. So, if you fit the rad in the rear, you could put the fan that’s included and add that to the front. Then put the fan frame on the rear fan.

Phanteks also makes an awesome little rgb strip kit It’s available on amazon. It works with the fan frames, and is magnetic making install and placement real easy.

Idk, honestly just shop around figure out how much you want to spend. The case could definitely use some better cooling, especially up front. So if you can move all the stock fans you’ll have to front, and then for the rear rad fan (and top if you get them) you’d use the rgb fans, that would be a great move. Just remember most rgb fans are proprietary, and only work with their brands software, or a specific software.

With some pretty easy overclocking, messing around with XMP settings in BIOS and voltage, you can very easily push the CPU to 3.8 Ghz, People claim to push it to 4.0 Ghz though say it seemed to be a little unstable.

If you haven't cleaned out your PSU, you should. If it's younger than 5 years it's definitely still good. 100$ saved.

Windows can be obtained for free, only disadvantage is a small Windows 10 watermark on the lower right corner, and some of the OS customization settings are locked. It doesn't bother me, and it certainly doesn't convince me to spend 100$ for customization.

M.2 nvme SSDs are many times faster than a SATA SSD, for a boot drive you won't see a huge difference in boot time, but file transfer and such it definitely shines.

The extra fan is for an exhaust for the back of the case. You'll need a fan hub Here: https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-System-Cables-Black-CPF04/dp/B00VNW556I/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1521908068&sr=1-3&keywords=fan+hub Forgot about it :/

Ive built with this case before, and it comes with a nice SSD mounting array behind the motherboard, a kinda annoying but spacious PSU basement and great air flow. tempered glass oooo

Buy zip ties. like 50. Zip ties are your friend and so is your fully modular PSU

If you want help with your CPU overclocking, you can pm me, or look up a guide on overclockers forum. Really helpful people over there.

I made it all Amazon, because of prime, which is can save you a lot of shipping. With the cheaper vendors, its cheaper for the part, but the shipping would put you over budget.

You can get a copy of Windows 10 here and this link will teach you how to create a bootable USB drive.

This video will walk you through the build process step-by-step, and this one will walk you through the setup of your new rig from overclocking the RAM to installing Windows. If you need to update your BIOS to successfully overclock the RAM (you probably will), this video will walk you through that process.

To actually complete the build, you're going to need a few tools.
The essentials are a screwdriver, a pair of scissors/wirecutter, and zip ties for cable management. Some useful tools (that aren't mandatory) include a small screwdriver for the hard to reach places in the case, a magnetic screw tray to keep track of all those pesky screws, and an anti-static mat (can't find a link to one, but the brand I'd recommend is called ModMat).

I know it seems overwhelming, but you'll be okay! You have plenty of resources (and this sub!) available to help, and you're welcome to PM me for any help you may need :)

Feel free to ask anything!

You need WAY better peripherals!

Let's start with the audio. For speakers, you want to go with Micca MB42X (Amazon link) or the newer Micca PB42X (Amazon link). If you wanted to go even better, get the JBL LSR305 (Amazon link) or even the larger/better JBL LSR308 (Amazon link). For headphones, you want to go with Sennheiser PC 363D (Amazon link) for gaming or any of the Sennheiser HD headphones for music. You also will need a DAC for your audio so get a Schiit Modi 2 (Amazon link) or you could setup a Schiit stack which is a Schiit DAC like the Modi 2 and a Schiit amp like the Schiit Magni 2 (Amazon link. Do NOT buy any audio equipment made by a computer company. Buy from an audio company. You don't have to believe me, check out /r/BudgetAudiophile /r/Audiophile /r/Audio /r/Headphones.

For your monitor, you really want at least a 144 Hz 1440 monitor (preferably with G-Sync) since you have a nice GPU. I have the Asus - ROG SWIFT PG278Q 27.0" 2560x1440 144Hz Monitor. Any of these monitors would suit you. I'd recommend checking out the Asus - MG278Q 27.0" 2560x1440 144Hz Monitor.

For your keyboard and mouse, you don't want Razer. For your keyboard, you want a mechanical keyboard. I have a Corsair RGB K65, which isn't made anymore, now it's called a Vengeance K65 which has a Cherry MX Red switch. Figure out which switch would suit your style and go from there. If you aren't sure what the differences between switches are, check out The complete guide to mechanical keyboard switches for gaming and How to Choose the Best Mechanical Keyboard (and Why You'd Want To). Personally, I think the Cherry MX Red is a great all around switch. I use it for gaming and typing. Check out keyboards by good companies like Ducky. You can also check out /r/mechmarket /r/MechanicalKeyboards /r/keyboards. For your mouse, again, there are better mice out there than those by Razer. I use a Logitech G303 because I didn't want a mouse to have a million buttons that I could accidentally hit while gaming. The Logitech - G300S Wired Optical Mouse and the Corsair - KATAR Wired Optical Mouse look good.

Remember to always keep an eye on /r/buildapcsales.

Any other questions?

Hey dude, Singaporean here as well! And For you I'll recommend getting a new case and Motherboard +CPU.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1W3wurvEJFEEZkES875Os6DHOT2RuYqFDGB9Bl1iH2ZA/edit?usp=sharing

here is a spreadsheet that I use for people I help to build PCs for, with prices for stuff from Sim Lim (because having local warranty is good). But yeah, this is just for reference. You can always try amazon esp to save abit on older Ryzens and RAM but RMA may be a bit of a pain just so that you are aware. But for cases, the techware Nexus is pretty solid choice and I think it's only $50 SGD.

https://www.tecware.co/nexus

IIRC it's the same case that Aftershock uses on their more budget lineup.

In any case, If I were you, I'll either wait for the Ryzen 3000 series if I want local warranty, or if I dont mind shipping from amazon and potentially having to deal with overseas RMA, wait for Ryzen 2000 sales on amazon after the 3000 series launches. Or get the 1600 from amazon now. since the prices of those have been crazy cheap these days and TBH it wont bottleneck your RX 580 anyways.

SSD wise, how big do you want it? a 500GB WD Blue 3D is like $100SGD now, so not too different from say a 500GB 860 evo once you add in the conversion rate + Import Tax+ Shipping. But if you wait for a sale on the 1TB 860Evo, those could be quite nice, since I've seen amazon sell those for 130USD during sales, which is quite cheap considering the lower performance 860QVO is like $200SGD right now from local distributors (and the failure rate on Samsung SSDs are so low that the RMA risks are minimal). as for the 860 evo, no reason to buy one of those in SG now since for almost the same price you can get the Adata XPG SX8200 Pro but with performance matching or surpassing in some areas, the much vaulted 970 Evo.

Edit: Just saw the WD Blue 3D 1TB for $115USD on amazon.https://www.amazon.com/Blue-NAND-1TB-SSD-WDS100T2B0A/dp/B073SBQMCX/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1LPKB9DX5EIHI&keywords=wd+blue+3d+1tb&qid=1557331485&s=gateway&sprefix=WD+Blue+3d+1tb%2Caps%2C354&sr=8-12

There are a lot of reviews of the AOC C24G1.

Amazon

A full review from PCMonitors.

Of the three I think that would be my choice. If I had another $30 I would go with AOC 27G2 or AOC 24G2 the AOC 24G2 is currently sold out.

I don't own a curved panel, but I don't think I would like one for gaming. I think I would prefer a flat panel. But I don't think you can go wrong with the AOC C24G1.

Looking at the other 1080p 144hz monitors, I don't see a compelling reason to spend anymore than $150. I wouldn't worry too much about brightness.

VA will have good color but slower response times.

TN will have slightly less good color, but usually the best backlights and response times.

IPS The $200 panel I mentioned above has a killer 4ms total response time, and is also an IPS panel, and it was released in September of this year. But overall last generation of IPS was also a bit slower, but had great color depth, but sometimes has something called backlight bleed (light filters through total dark backgrounds). The newer generation are better built IPS monitors.

My current gaming monitor is a Dell Alienware 25in 240hz AW2518Hf so this is my only actual point of reference for comparison. I feel like 25in is great, but I think I'd prefer 1440p (or even a 1080p) 27in or 32in personally. The 240hz is fine, but only in competitive fps games. The backlights that dell makes are amazing, so they are very above average for total illumination. I would also look for an in depth review on whatever monitor you purchase, because often the backlight illumination is actually higher than what is advertised. The same with input lag. The monitor I use has a 4ms total input lag. It also has some of the least best motion blur.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions!

GTX 1060, 6GB is in your budget. This GPU is already almost twice the capacity if your GTX 970(3.5GB)

Though GTX 1070 (8GB)'s can periodically be found on sale for low $400's. You don't need a GTX 1080+ to enjoy AAA title games (or even VR) nowadays.

I have many friends enjoying big games on their GTX 1060 comfortably.

Edited!

More 1060's here, sorted by clock speed. All of them under $300. EVGA is a very reputable brand, and almost unanimously praised for good products and excellent customer support.

I don't know about "under $50" but I listed the parts I used below and it's an amazing sound that can /will rumble the floor if I need it to.

You'll also need the standard speaker wire and connectors but this is a good price for the results. That last bit (the Amp) is the important part to this.

Thank you so much!! I have that in my cart, I assume you meant this one?

As far as a case, I think I landed on this one, does that seem okay? I don't think it comes with fans so I added a 3 pack of Aigo fans to go with it, hopefully it's all compatible. If you don't think this is a good case would you recommend anything similar?

I really appreciate the help! No one I know in real life builds, so this is extremely helpful.

Scratch your build.

Much better CPU. Faster RAM. Much better motherboard. More and faster storage. Better GPU.

You don't need to pay the full price for Windows 10. Just download Windows 10 Home for free at Microsoft website and activate it by buying an OEM activation key for 15$.

if you need RGB here's a link for an RGB case fan pack. You do need another 3-4 case fans.

both should be great for 1440p 144hz gaming, the bottom one is very similar to my own build

also wifi card: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Archer-T6E-Wireless-Technology/dp/B016K0896K/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_147_bs_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=8GJ092D3XRA1Q6RH67P9

Understandable. Right now AMD has a much better line of cpus in terms of price to performance. Which is why he asked. I would go with a Ryzen platform over Intel atm. You'll save a lot of money, and you'll get much more for it at the mid range and high end skus. You can't go wrong with a ryzen 5 2600 or 3600. Some good boards to look at would be the Asrock B450m Pro4, the MSI B450 Tamahawk, or the Gigabyte B450 Aorus. Any of those are good choices and have plenty of features you'd probably want.

u/MoChuang · 5 pointsr/buildmeapc

Just get a USB wifi adapter. Something like this or if you want one thats smaller and less in the way you can get this one. The smaller one probably has less range and lower max speed.

Or if you have extra expansion slots and need faster wifi you can get a PCIe wifi card like this.

NOTE: I haven't done much research on this so the listed products are just examples of the types of solutions available. By no means am I recommending these as the best in their respective classes. I just own TP-link stuff and trust them is all.

u/ArtIsWeird · 1 pointr/buildmeapc

Thanks so much for your input, it's very appreciated. One question though, why not go with a Kingston SSD like this? Seems better and cheaper (at least where I'm located).

And the case's included fans + the stock CPU cooler will be sufficient? And quiet?

Thanks again!

EDIT: Also, this build ends up being at least $1100 here in Europe :/

case comes with 1 120mm RGB fan, but is only available in black.

one easy way to add RGB is a [RGB strip] (https://www.amazon.com/Tingkam-RGB-Attached-Controller-Generation/dp/B01HXPPUR2/ref=sr_1_4?crid=CKXYITWCVZY5&keywords=pc+rgb+strip&qid=1567206275&s=pc&sprefix=pc+rgb%2Celectronics%2C879&sr=1-4), or [RGB fans] (https://www.amazon.com/upHere-Wireless-Airflow-Adjustable-Radiators/dp/B07DHM6SW9/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me=)

So for a white case, here is one option

I could also make some other recommendations for a white case if you want to order from Best Buy online from another retailer.

The CPU Cooler is optional because the R5 1600 comes with a pretty decent heat sink that is RGB and you could try picking up a different variant of 1070 to save some money. Lastly you could try looking for faster ram which helps Ryzen performance a bit but all this is down to personal preference.

I couldn't find any specifics on what LoL needs to run on ultra, but it seems to not need a whole lot. I put in the more powerful card you had listed (R9 280) just in case.

The case has two USB 3.0 ports on the front, and the motherboard has 6 total USBs on the back. Also stuck in Windows since I wasn't sure if you needed it or not. Still a bit of room in your budget if you want a different case or anything.

Not much better you can do than a [build with an i7-6700K, GTX 1080, and Samsung 950 PRO] (https://www.theaipc.com/result/c1467911191918).

Throw in a good ATX case-- Corsair makes good ones so [something like this] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I0MKMG2/) would probably do the trick.

Edit: A CPU cooler would help too if you end up overclocking-- [the hyper 212 evo works great for me] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005O65JXI/)

What did you pay for this thing? FX-6300 is from 2012 (and was horrible already in 2012). This computer is worth MAYBE $200 on like a really really good day. Return it immediately and get something decent. You can do way better for $700.

Here are some computers that are 100x better than what you bought for $700ishhttps://www.amazon.com/CyberpowerPC-GXiVR8060A7-i5-9400F-GeForce-802-11AC/dp/B07PKXQBHN/ref=sr_1_1?fst=as%3Aoff&pf_rd_i=16225007011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=74069509-93ef-4a3c-8dca-a9e3fa773a64&pf_rd_r=A5M9DR8SH9GQ29T2JEBH&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-4&pf_rd_t=101&qid=1563760328&refinements=p_36%3A2421882011&rnid=2421879011&s=computers-intl-ship&sr=1-1

That case is designed for high airflow and already has 3x fans mounted in the front. I would put a 240 in the top as exhaust. The problem with front mounting an AIO as intake is that you fill your case with warm air and that can degrade your GPU performance. With it mounted top as exhaust the rest of your system still gets fresh air and top is good since heat naturally rises.

Btw that's a really nice RGB case, I think the Corsair H100i RGB platinum would compliment it really well : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JWB5BSN/?tag=pcpapi-20

u/zamardii12 · 3 pointsr/buildmeapc

You could very easily fit a new monitor into that budget. $300 for a better monitor is worth it. Here is the one I have... and the Freesync works with my Nvidia 2080 ti too.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FLGR2PN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I would put together a build for you but I honestly just don't feel like it at the moment.

CPU - Intel i5 8600k $239.

CPU Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO $30.

Motherboard - MSI Z370-A PRO $100.

RAM - Patriot Viper Elite Series 8GB DDR4 2400MHz $81.

SSD - PNY CS1311 240GB $70.

HDD - Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB $44.

Video Card - Zotac GeForce GTX 1050-Ti 4GB mini $200.

Case - NZXT S340 Black $70.

Power Supply - EVGA SuperNOVA G3 80+ Gold 550W $70.

Total Price: $904. Throw in Windows for an additional $90-$100. It's really hard to get a decent PC to be under $1,000 nowadays with the price of RAM and GPU's :( I think this build will suit you best though. It's definitely not bad,

u/Madjimbo091 · 1 pointr/buildmeapc

If your willing to spend a bit more than 200 pounds u could go for the zotac 1070 mini. I have it and it’s great!

I agree, especially with all the sales going on right now.

Instead of a cheap 240GB SSD + cheap 1TB HDD, you could fit a [1TB Samsung EVO SSD $128] (https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Inch-Internal-MZ-76E1T0B-AM/dp/B078DPCY3T) and still be within his budget.

That way don't have do deal with 2 different storage units.

u/Andreas0Cool · 1 pointr/buildmeapc

Because I want to keep the budget as low as possible will these work together?

I know the CPU is kinda weak but still. If I went any higher it would probably need a BIOS update but I don't have any other CPUs. So should I buy these? No higher price tag. If you want recommend me other pieces at the same price, that are better. All will be purchased from Amazon.de

Assuming PCI-E: I just got this one this past week and have been thrilled with it. My isp speed is 1gbps and at a range of roughly 60 feet and four walls, a steel shelf full of WiFi enabled 3D printers and my desk between my desktop and the router I’m seeing ~560mbps.

TP-Link Archer AC1300 WiFi Card PCIe Adapter with Heatsink Technology (T6E) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016K0896K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_qNOEmyTBPgtrD

u/DonnyJoseph0 · 2 pointsr/buildmeapc

Tight budget, best option is to build off a decent used system.

i5-4690, 32GB DDR3 (!?), 320GB HDD; $154ish

MSI GTX 1050 Ti Low Profile; $180

Kingston A400 240GB SSD; $29

The i5-4690's single core performance comes close to a Ryzen 5 2600, which should contribute to a decent FPS on 1080p. Combined with the GTX 1050 Ti you should be rocking 60 FPS minimum on Medium 1080p, if not better.

The SSD is optional, but makes things so much snappier I couldn't recommend doing without it.

u/ToonamiNights · 1 pointr/buildmeapc

You can get 2x8GB Ram 3200Mhz for 129.99 right now on Amazon

And a 1TB SSD Samsung Evo for $147.99 on Amazon

Or upgrade the CPU to a 2600x or a 2700x

Graphics card upgrade you could get an RX580 8GB for $190 on Newegg

u/Bman854 · 3 pointsr/buildmeapc

No but you could get a PcIE wifi card with while keeping it in your budget.
