Have you seen the Scribbles That Matter Bullet Planner?

I’ll see if I can find a link. It was my plan if I found I couldn’t keep up with bujo at law school, but I find that I like my bujo even more now.

Personally I find the passion planner too claustrophobic but they are super popular. I have to say though that I’m excited to try their new daily version. The hibonachi cousin is pretty awesome too.

Edit: scribbles that matter bullet planner

For me, the fineliners of any brand that are actually metal nibs do get a little scratchy but you just rotate the pen in your hand, like you do with pencils as they get blunt. You can't use too much pressure on them or use them up against rulers too hard because it cuts into the tip (and no metal rulers at all!). For me, the Papermate Flairs actually drag on the page compared to my fineliners which flow really nicely when you're on the right part of the nib. I actually like the Artline 200 Fineliner in black for my usual writing. Or the Papermate Inkjoy gelpens in the 0.7mm tip.

The Staedlers are a much finer point, I think they're 0.3mm when the Papermate Flairs are 0.7mm. So they're good for writing and small detail but you might want to stick to Flairs if you like nice bold lines for boxes and stuff. The Sharpie Fine Point that I use is 0.7mm but I know there's a Sharpie Permanent Marker that's fine point so I thought I'd link the exact one. The Artline 200 is a 0.4mm tip. So based on what you use and their tip size, the actual Staedler Fineliners might not be best for you but there might be some that are more what you like based on tip size.

The whole cover does seem too bulky to me, but I like keeping things as simple as possible. Do you feel like the elastic band is in a strange place? To me it just does not make sense, it seems difficult to open and close. It seems like a very nicely made product, but just not the most practical and useful in all aspects. It does not seem like there is one right product on the market however.

He wound up one on Amazon for less than $20 just to kind of see what he does and does not want in a cover before spending more on a nice leather one, and so far really likes his cheap one! It just came yesterday however, so he may change his mind.

I realize this is from almost a month ago, but Minimilism Art has a Premium Edition Notebook Journal, which seems to fit all of your listed preferences and is currently only $13.95 on Amazon.

I just ordered the same one, but the version with 124 pages instead of 234. I haven't used it yet, but maybe I'll update this comment when I do.

Edit: Been using it for December & January and it's pretty great. I have nothing bad to say. I'll definitely be buying replacements in more colors.

Aww. Thanks!!! Oh man. My Christmas Cookie list is next. Then Christmas dinner. (Which is very similar but includes ham and Mac and Cheese.) I have this book:

Good Housekeeping The Great Christmas Cookie Swap Cookbook: 60 Large-Batch Recipes to Bake and Share https://www.amazon.com/dp/1588167577/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Qkg2Db8DCP3XN

And I use different recipes every year from it. Plus peanut brittle!

I love this time of year!

My household has used Mint, YNAB, Excel... the thing that has finally worked for us is this [kind of silly giftbook.] (https://www.amazon.com/Kakebo-Japanese-Art-Mindful-Spending/dp/0062857967/)

Apparently they still teach home economics in Japanese schools, and everyone learns to keep a household budget in a "Kakeibo" (I think this translates to Home financial ledger). This little book is an English version of the system they teach.

The charm of this system, we've found, is it only requires you to track income and spending. It also simplifies the categories for you in advance. All the other apps and sites we've used have much more complicated ledgering systems in my experience (you don't just note the spending, you note which account it came from and where it went trying to keep things balanced). No fiddling with accounts with this method: finances in (I earned!), finances out (I spent!), and a selection of pretty broad categories to classify that spending. It also gives us an idea of how we are doing over time across broad categories so we can make goals and adjustments if our spending is not matching up with our needs or values.

My partner and I check in nightly, it takes less than 5 minutes. It really keeps you on top of what you are spending on, and it has stopped plenty of purchases that would have been frivolous (asking yourself "do I want to record this later?" is a great gut check before you buy something).

Finances are complicated enough that I think it warrants a journal unto itself. This worked for us. Good luck whatever you decide to do!

I know this is quite different from the Leuchtturm notebook you were using OP, but I wanted to put it out there anyway.

I actually like to use dot grid wirebound spiral notebooks like this. The paper quality is not as good as the fancy stuff, but it's also slightly more affordable. The reason I like using spiral notebooks for my BuJo is because: (1) I have more hand mobility near the spine of the paper and (2) I can easily rip out 'bad' pages without it being very noticeable.

I'm still a beginner BuJo-er, so I make quite a bit of mistakes and haven't settled for a style yet. Sometimes I'll remake a monthly spread a couple of times just for fun.

It’s just one from amazon! I love it bc I mess up all the time so it’s nice to just take the pages out. I also use this hole punch which is amazing bc you can change the spacing so your pages can fit any binder you get! I got it for really cheap at a local Tuesday morning but you can also find it Michael’s and Joann’s and use a coupon it. And I love that too so that you can choose whichever paper you like in it.

I've been using these but in A5 as my first bujo. Wire bound lays perfectly flat, and it's a hard but flexible plastic cover on the front. The B5 size I linked is 7.1"x10", pretty much exactly the size you want.

I got mine last month in cork colour, lined. I like it more than the L1917 I had previously. It's a really good choice, if you don't mind having less pages for better quality paper. It's cheaper too. I would try one, and get something else next time if you fill it up too quickly.

If you need more detail, my review of it is actually the first one here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dotted-Journal-Notebook-PRODUCT-PROMOTION/product-reviews/B075NKDSBZ/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_acr_sr?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews titled 'Great paper'.

It goes on clear but on BuJo paper (Leuchtturm, etc) it stays wet enough to see a word or two before it dries completely. During writing and when it is dry it remains UV reactive -- is is a 'bulletproof' ink.

Not sure of your budget or locale, but using Goulet Pens as a source, $13.50 gets you 3oz. $18 gets you 4.5 oz and a free pen. If you don't have a fountain pen already, a TWSBI Go in Med nib is $18.99. You can also get sample inks for <$2.

As for a UV light, try Nite Ize Radiant UV Microlight for $11.74 from Amazon.

I use a journal that has gridded sheets! Nitoms STALOGY 365DaysNotebook A5 I believe there’s a new version out now that’s available through prime.

I like gridded paper better than dots and much better than lined ☺️

u/carry_on_phenomenon · 3 pointsr/bujo

Good find! I've been using two of these as running bookmarks in my spiral work notebook, but hadn't found something I really liked for my personal Moleskine. Thanks!

u/bleble98 · 2 pointsr/bujo

My absolutely favorite for bullet journaling is the grid Midori MD Notebook A5 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Midori-MD-Notebook-Grid-Paper/dp/B0091GBD00/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=midori+md&qid=1557587047&s=gateway&sr=8-2 only £11!)

I think it’s really cute, very aesthetically appealing and there isn’t much bleed through! I’ve actually used copics for an art spread in mind and honestly I didn’t mind the bleed through (although with copics it was obvious unsurprisingly)!

Love the look of this layout! I do the opposite and use these stamps and then add handwritten dates.

I'm a HUGE fan of stamps in my bujo!

I did, I used the second smaller stencil from this set, which I carry around in the back pocket of my notebook cover. I use it to make straight lines as well.

The notebook is a Stalogy 365

u/rosieontheradio · 7 pointsr/bujo

It’s by Lemome, I got it on Amazon UK

The only crutch is it doesn’t have numbered pages for the index page
