I got this kit from Amazon.

It comes with 4 led strips, and fuse taps for a couple different sized fuses, along with an led controller, full function remote, as well as keychain remote. Hands down the best value I could find.

Wired up the fronts a few months back, but didn't have time to do the back seat along with the fronts (with 2 kids there isn't much time for anything)

To power: fuse tap on the drivers side fuse panel to F17. Ground to the bolt that is right in that same area. I also tucked the controller away in that same location with some 3m double sided adhesive.

Lights: drivers side was easy. Figure out where you want the lights (helps to plug them in and have them lit up so you can mess w placement til you find what you like) then 3m/zip tie/etc to the spot. Passenger side: I popped off the center console trim and ran the wires across that to reach passenger front foot well. Same thing...mess with placement, when good, attach.

For the backseat: pulled out rear seat cushion, and trim along the drivers side rocker panel up to the fuse box. Zip tie the cables together, and run along the channel that's right there, then along the front of the rear seat area just behind the cushion. End of the wiring terminates in the middle of the seats just behind center console. Put rear seat back in, climb back there and plug in led strips to find placement. Used a few dabs of hot glue to attach them to the bottom of the seat.

And that's that. This kit is so simple that it is really a painless install, you just gotta make sure you run the wiring neatly, and secure it along any runs to either the dash, another wire loom, etc, so it doesn't fall out. Tuck the excess up into the fuse panel and call it a day!

This post is also kind of a life hack as well. So see the telescoping wand attached to my hose? That thing is perfect for getting underneath the car to get off all the salt and shit from the road. I bought this item at Lowe's but here is the link on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Water-Blaster-Model-UWB-1/dp/B003FV3DAU

This thing will swivel 180 degrees too -- good for those pesky hoses that don't want to turn. This is a LIFE SAVER when it comes to cleaning your car (especially underneath). It never leaks and just seems to be good quality overall. I should post this on BIFL too. Hopefully this helps someone who needs to clean under their car more easily.

I did with my 2012.

I got this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F0YASQ2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and have a single 12" Infinity Reference pushed by an Alpine amp (500 watt @2ohms).
http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/mrp-m500

The best thing about that RCA converter is that it has remote turn on via signal detection, so I didn't have to run a line to the front of the car. It's pretty well the perfect setup for a stock head unit. I had planned on upgrading everything, but the front sound stage with the factory speakers is not too shabby.

You said "subs". Will a dual-sub box fit into the trunk from the back seat? You won't be able to get it in through the trunk! I downsized to a single sub and it sounds great. What equipment are you installing?

I got these for the back, and these for the front. I would suggest finding another 3x5 though because I didn’t like how much brighter it was than the back, definitely re-doing that one. If you go this route, work from the right to the left, cutting clean edges and using the second one for the extra space that needs more blue. Good luck!

u/laloisbeast · 2 pointsr/camaro

Wow that looks awesome ! Ima have to try it out. So you just clean the cover, tape and then just spray paint ? Is it really that easy ?
Edit : is this the can you used

I have a 2012 LS and it's not the prettiest with the heritage wheels (although it has a muscular look), but I love it. I know gas mileage isn't a main concern, but I average about 25-26 miles per gallon and I don't drive it all that gingerly. Lacks the torque of a v8 for sure but if you like to rev the hell out of a car from 3k-5k consistently it's a blast.

There's a K & N performance air filter http://www.amazon.com/33-2434-High-Performance-Replacement-Filter/dp/B002EC0R4Q
that I plan on putting in which according to the reviews increases mileage while improving throttle response ever so slightly (2hp increase) if you reset the ECU.

Lastly, the tail lights on the 2010-2013 are the best IMO, even over the 6th gen.

Thanks!

I'm definitely a rookie that's been watching youtube videos to learn and haven't really spend much on tools.

Pressure Washer: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NBVBT3I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As a test run I used Meguiar's Gold Class: https://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G7164-Class-Shampoo-Conditioner/dp/B0009IQXFO/ref=sr_1_7?crid=BG425GLTKNPI&keywords=meguiars+gold+class+car+wash&qid=1555861387&s=gateway&sprefix=meguiars+gold+c%2Clawngarden%2C144&sr=8-7

Honestly, the result vs effort in this method is really good. It's not a spot on wash but it was a quick wash and cleaned up nicely overall. I will definitely keep working this method in the future.

Here's an album of some car detailing stuff I do: https://imgur.com/a/VcBl0

There's a pic in there of the Raptor with some dog hair in the carpet. A big rubber mat covers most of the rear but you can see a clear line where the dog hair begins and a LOT of the interior was like that. Took me probably an hour to get all the hair out. Brush, vacuum, repeat till it's all gone.

This is the brush I have: Carrand 93112 Lint and Hair Removal Brush https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006H34AE6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_pcqSybX8FBZZB

And yes, there's room in the back for two adults when you're determined. Plus it's hidden enough that you can get most of your clothes back on once you see a cop shining a spotlight through the rear glass! Doesn't make it any less awkward though. There's no denying what was going on.

It was kind of funny though. He said, "Well, this is awkward". Me and a half dressed European blonde in the back of a Camaro at a lake at 2am probably wasn't what he expected to find that night. He said that we were all young at one point and to just go home.

So, can you fit two adults in the back of a Camaro? Yeah. Should you? Probably not. Lol

6th gen camaro.

I purchased these. I love them. You can take them out, scrub them down and they look brand new. They fit perfectly and even come up on the sides to trap in water/mud/salt.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MR2KVH8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I wish my wife thought to buy these for me!

Edit: I went with these instead of the weather tech ones because of the fact that weathertech didnt offer back seat mats at the time. My friend has weather tech and there is no difference between the quality of these and the weathertech.

I just got this and this and run the phone without turning it's screen off. Gets the job done perfectly, also got a free GPS app that works great (Waze).

u/Tokume · 1 pointr/camaro

I was borrowing the GoPro Hero3+ from my friend who rode with me. I used Torque for my first run, but didn't bother recording the stats on the others since I was just trying to have fun. I use a Bluetooth BAFX ODB II reader with my phone, and it works well.

He also mounts his phone on his windshield an app called SoloStorm to record data from ODB II and external GPS. App also acts as a dash cam which is nice considering that the GoPro was acting up and didn't auto start and record any of his runs unfortunately. In theory it was supposed to trigger the GoPro, but we were having connection issues with it that day, so we started this video manually before the lap.

I didn't edit the video itself except to trim off what wasn't part of the run. Just used iMovie since it was available.

Great! I bet if you look under the car, behind the front wheel or in front of the rear wheel, inside of the side skirts or other plastic moulding, right near the pinch welds, you'll see some triangle arrows stamped/marked/notched out.

Also, you may be interested in something like this for your jack:

looks great, maybe some DEI heat tape in either silver or gold for your air box? It will reflect the heat from your engine bay from heat soaking your air filter as fast. I use it for my supercharged camaro.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2416797

I use the silver just because of color preference, I hear the gold works a little better.

I went from Gen 5 to 6, get these with some velcro. Stick next to your right knee on the transmission tunnel for a good cell phone holder.

If you need a front plate, ZL1 Addons makes a great one I can vouch for.

well then there are other options that don't move that still mount under the bumper.

But overkill is what makes these cars fun man. Or at least that's just me.

This mounts into the tow hook hole, so it's a screw in bracket, and doesn't mess with anything.

Another option
