promix soil from walmart $6.00 for 4kg bag. produces good nugs indoors or outdoors

You can certainly entertain using all the fancy and unnecessary products but at the end of the day all your growing is a flowering tree and that flowering tree doesn't care whats on the soil bag label.

The gimmicks can work but are often unnecessary however don't dismiss the benefits of investing in a good grow tent and good quality grow lamp if you plan to grow indoors.

One product that does aid with healthy plants is general hydroponics fertilizers. 1L bottle will last over a year for a small home grower. The smaller bottles only require 1 milliliter to 1 liter of water per feed per week so the value of these products is in the longevity of what they will produce in several years.

Also having the feeding chart helps

http://gh.growgh.com/docs/Feedcharts/GH_FloraDuo-DTW_03216am.pdf

And fertilizer measuring tools :)

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0757JXQT5

Soil is cheap and works well but mineral deficiencies are real.

Lastly plastic grow pots are awful. do consider investing in some reusable breathable cloth fiber grow pots.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B072XCVTRC

Plastic grow pots will stunt the growth of plants and in the summer heat cook the roots.

Ultimately the success entirely depends on clones or seeds used and autoflowering strains from a reputable seed supplier will make a world of difference. if you plan to grow non auto flowering photoperiod sensitive plants without a grow tent the results will likely yield nothing but a bunch of tea leaves and no flowers.

Put all this together and you have sustainable pain relief in -30c temperatures as long as you don't neglect to water plants and the temperatures dont get too cold :)

I use one of those RAW Rolling Machines as I very rarely smoke joints but sometimes they're necessary for parties or events. My hand rolling technique is trash and they come out looking like a joint from the 70's so this setup is pretty great for uniform size and shape results.

Vaping is definitely the best way to be discrete. I'd suggest you invest in an MFLB very small extremely portable, affordable and easy to hide. If you're looking to spend a bit more on a better vape take a look around that site, it's awesome. Also BC Vapor.

One great tip i'll give you that I use to use was putting a bit of loose (not store bought, you don't want to be ingesting chemicals) tea in with the bud, really helps the smell, also invest in a smoke buddy, it's not dirt cheap like a sploof but in my opinion it's worth the investment.

Good luck!!

u/abovethebelt · 2 pointsr/canadients

You again! Thanks for your help :)

I've also read that booster fans aren't great if carbon filters are involved and I'd rather have too much power than too little. I'm legally only allowed to grow 4 plants so I don't think my setup will ever expand beyond a 2'x4' tent, 3 plants at a time. Your 10x12 room is much larger than my small tent, so perhaps a booster is sufficient even with a filter?

It sounds like a 6" inch inline fan is almost overkill since I'll likely be running it on low full-time. I also use my grow-room as a small office so quiet is preferred.

I"m wondering if a 4" inline duct fan with a carbon filter is the way to go, or do you still recommend a 6" inline with the carbon filter, at low setting? I'm looking at this fan on Amazon. The total cost is $193CAD including filter/ducting. There's only $10 difference between 4" and 6" so 6" is likely better.

Oh jesus, I am amazed that plant has as many leaves as it does and has not fallen over being under that light. So I give you props there.

You need to get a much more powerful light than that in order to grow cannabis. I personally prefer MH/HPS lights but they can put off a lot of heat, that is a bonus for me since I grow in my basement but its a negative for others. You can grow 4 plants under 400 or 600 watts https://www.amazon.ca/iPower-Digital-Dimmable-System-Reflector/dp/B005GYRB9S/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1543012060&sr=8-5&keywords=400w%2Bhps&th=1

Good quality LEDs will work as well, but good quality LEDs are expensive. Unless you are going to get serious about growing and willing to go with something like a Quantum Board or high end Cree COBs, I would stick to old fashion MH/HPS system. LED has its place, and I use them for my clones, but cheap ones suck for growing good weed.

I did some digging around looking for cheap glass containers

Best I found for small numbers was:

https://www.amazon.ca/TOPWEL-Refillable-Frosted-Cosmetic-Container/dp/B01FVYI7JU/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1482972123&sr=8-8&keywords=5ml+glass+container

I'd assume frosted glass would be okay? Not bad for 3$ There are some high-end ones for like 10-15$/ea from headshops though

let me know if there are better options

I've actually made several improvements to my technique, I almost need to make a new tutorial. Now I use a jelly strainer and then let it sit for like 30 mins and drip, while pressing down with a spoon every so often. Then place the whole thing into the ricer.

IME no ricer is strong enough to withstand the amount of squeezing necessary to get all/most of the oil separated. I've actually gone through 3 potato ricers haha they just get all bent and mangled so be gentle haha. That's why I let the oil mostly drip out first, to minimize the amount of squeezing necessary.

I'm quite frugal myself and like things that serve a multiple purpose. That being said have you tried or heard of a small backup battery source? I've been looking into them for hiking and you might like it as your into photography. Having power is a nice bonus for basic things. This is one I've been eyeing https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B00X5RV14Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1495071759&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=battery+pack&dpPl=1&dpID=31I8mgwj14L&ref=plSrch

Y'all motherfuckers snitched. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00JV27MF4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I was buying these for 12$ 6 months ago and now they are 30 on amazon.

By the by, they are the best thing ever. Anyone who doesnt use them gets instantly converted when they see how fresh your weed is. Try and order them online, head shops are rip off for them.

u/medicannabis · 9 pointsr/canadients

So true!!! I'm glad you mentioned the incompetence of the medical system as well, in a time when endocannabinoids are not taught in the curriculum but are assumed dangerous. I have gotten into more fights than I should as a cancer patient (especially after using cannabis to successfully manage the nausea and other chemo symptoms), only being pushed pharmaceuticals with huge lists of side effects and receiving the blank stare too many times upon bringing up cannabinoid receptors so I think that specialist was just looking for something to blame for a condition that may be difficult to diagnose.

She couldn't have thought to try a different mode of delivery either, like "oh I'll just keep eating my cookies and it'll go away". Seems like a such a lovely and trustworthy person too! Oh wait...

It's a really nice addition to the solo (or air). It also comes with a pax attachment, but if you don't need that, give it to a friend with a pax, they can use it to hook up a bong:

Boveda makes humidipaks that a lot of ents use to keep their stash fresh. I highly recommend it, much more efficient than doing something weird like using a chunk of lettuce or an orange peel. Glass jars should be enough for storage but there are some more expensive containers specifically for cannabis, but I've never tried one because my mason jars work fine for me.

u/SpfesS2 · 1 pointr/canadients

Amazon
is the best place to get Boveda packs. 10x 8g 62% RH for $12.00.

u/lrn2grow · 3 pointsr/canadients

I can't find the apollo light fixtures on amazon currently but this one is similar. Chalk it up to Amazon.ca being hit and miss with supplies/prices sometimes but the apollo's should reappear in the future. These would work in a 2x2 - 3x3 tent with up to 4 medium sized, trained plants. The smaller the tent, the warmer it'll be.

u/canniferous_rex · 1 pointr/canadients

I would advise you to pick up a Raw rolling machine and your own bud. Pre rolls can be made with shitty floor weed much like fake cigars are.

Not saying they all are, but some definitely are made with crap quality and its much easier to make pinners with that machine.

u/diza-steR · 1 pointr/canadients

Use these. With plastic container or glass containers.
