EASY! you can do the install yourself ALL those Chrysler RES NON boston radios are nothing special. i done a FULL system in my 2012 200 (dual amps, new speakers, head unit and subwoofer). Right so head over to amazon or crutchfeild.

for a new radio you'll need a idatalink RR module and CH-1 plug and play harness to retain your steering wheel buttons.

for your dash kit to fit a new radio you have 2 options. SINGLE DIN: Best Kits BKCDK644 DOUBLE DIN: Best Kits BKCDK642 Since you want a touch screen you need the double din kit

SPEAKERS: Doors and rear deck are 6x9s and dash are 3.5's. for the doors NO ADAPTERS ARE NEEDED and MOST 3.5's for the dash wont need mounting adapters either. But check on crutchfied for fit as the real nice chunky woofers dont fit. But Rockford Fosgate PUNCH, Infinity reference, Kenwood Excelon and Focal Integration will drop right in if you just cut the plastic "cup" the original speakers sit in.

you do have to pop the door panels off to get to the speakers and the dash speakers you have to take the A-pillar trim pieces off. rear deck the rear seat needs folded down and more C-pillar plastic trim popped off. theres better guides online then i can describe on a text post.

the best buy free installation probably doesnt include the smart harness required to swap out the factory radio

Was looking to get this switch: https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.toggle-spdt-20a-125vac-ofo-1cd.1000104180.html
Would this work?
Also, I'm thinking of just doing as you said by buying the 16 gauge because I can find it at a good price, but 14gauge costs me 3x as much. Now for the 26 gauge wire. If I buy something like this would it work fine? Does it matter which goes to the positive side or the negative?
Last question (I think)! since I am tapping into two power sources that have their own grounds I do not need to ground anything in regards to the dome/12V source do I? I would just need to ground the LED strips correct?
Appreciate the help so much!

I just want decent bass. I'm not a car mods guy (meaning I don't know shit about modding cars), so I don't know exactly what to look for (I've got friends that mod the shit out of their cars, so they could tell me what I need), but from what I've seen, these are nice (https://www.amazon.com/Kicker-10C154-15-Inch-Subwoofers-Enclosure/dp/B01CTD4BZU/ref=pd_sim_sbs_23_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=JGAQKPA7146BX504V95T)

i just installed an opt7 aura kit, the control has an optional wire to hook into the dome light, i think its what your looking for.
for 45$ its pretty great, colors are quality the adhesive & kit is complete, just don't get psyched when you see the music matching button.

They also sell an underglow and wheelwell kit that i recall someone mentioning that they could be controlled together...

Hey thanks for all the info. I ended up going an even more basic route and just replaced my phone mount with this one that has a built in on/off switch, which is nice because sometimes I like to leave the dashcam recording when I'm parked or just running into the store.

Right now i have a mazda 3 2008 2.0l but i don't plan on modding it. I'm not a muscle car guy myself and one day(when i'll have my own garage) i might try to get an old bmw e46(still efi because i don't want a carb) and get started with that. I've already read a book about turbo and it was very interesting and now i think i have a decent knowledge about them. The problem is that even if i know everything about turbo but not a single thing about how to make my engine support it i won't go far away from my future garage and that is why i need a book to learn about the engine(how it works, parts and their pros/cons of material, machining, efi even if i know it'll certainly not be in the same book, etc...)

Here's the book about turbo if you were wondering: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/0837601606/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

momo makes shift knob / boot that has a 3 adjustable screws that should fit most thread and pitch.

I had this one and matching boot that threads into the knob. Nice material and it just has an embossed momo logo so looks very OEM.

PS: Here's a link that shows all the adapters that come with it, but note that's the taller version. That plastic sleeve fits over your shift lever, so it might work... with the boot, it looked like this. Used it for years and never faded with just routine cleaning.

If you really want to learn about cars and how they work here is probably the best single book you can get, although it is used in technical school and community colleges it is very detailed. Also the book is very expensive but if your serious about working on cars this information is important.

So I found out that Amazon allows sorting their car electronics by input options and features, so that might be a good place to start. I doubt I'll find something with AM/FM and CB, though, as they require such different hardware antennas (...is that right?) Also doubt I'll find a police scanner, ha...

I'm wondering how important/nice bluetooth would be. Anybody have comments in that regard?

EDIT: the Pioneer FH-X700BT seems like a good place to start.

Also found the Uniden BearTracker, which appears to fit in a standard car stereo slot (1 DIN?)

I may end up going for a simple AM/FM/CD/USB/AUX 1DIN stereo, with a Uniden police scanner or a CB radio in the other slot. Uniden's Bearcat seems cool, but it's expensive... And I'm also reconsidering why the fuck I need a police scanner... Especially at these prices. It was a cool idea, but I don't think I exactly need it right now, so...

Removing the heater connection will be easier, you can either cap off the two connections at the engine side with these: https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-02250-EPDM-Coolant-Bypass/dp/B00Z7MM0IG

Or replace the heater hoses with the base model versions which won't go through the rear heater T connections

I’m hardly an expert on quality but if you want something that works and is cheap try these

If you have an aux port
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008AGQMQC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_gqFFAbCNFY1T2

If you don’t
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018E0I01I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_BrFFAbTJ9M7K8

It’s important to note that the first one need to be charged every so ofhen. But you should be able to find a similar model Bluetooth receiver that can plug into your cigarette lighter.

Yeh you could. I keep hearing decent things about the BC BR's so maybe check them out https://www.amazon.com/BC-Racing-Coilovers-09-13-Nissan/dp/B00E0PSH6K

Not really familiar with the van in question but are there any interior lights at the moment? You could always take off whatever covers the current light and hook up the LED strip to that. Very recently I hooked up few sections of an LED strip to my Camry by using the dome light circuit and took apart some of the interiors to route the wires around the car. I ended up putting light strips on the footwells of the front and rear seats, the dome light was replaced with some LEDs and there was a strip along the rear windshield. I used a 5050 LED strip and ~50ft of wires. It seems light the tools you have would already work, you would just need to find a circuit to connect to.
