You'll need to connect the headphone output to an audio input on your laptop, then use the software of your choice to record it.

You could use your laptop's microphone input, but the resulting sound quality won't be very good. I'd recommend getting an audio interface. Here's a good selection of them:

https://www.sweetwater.com/shop/studio-recording/audio-interfaces/

To connect your CTK-551's headphone output to an audio interface with two 1/4" inputs, you'll need a cable like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-6-35mm-Dual-Insert/dp/B07PFLGKW6/

There is a ton of software available for recording, and you can spend as much or as little as you want. If you want to spend $0, Audacity is a great choice:

Hope this helps.

W86 is a great watch for sure.

But my personal favourite for the gym and pool is this one. It has 100m water resist, it's a bit bigger and feels more substantial than the W86 or F-91w.

You said you are new to watches so maybe this next watch is for a few months down the line, but this is my all time favourite. Super durable, solar powered, atomic timekeeping, countdown timer, world time, 200m water resist and (in my opinion) great looking. I've worn this watch, hiking, swimming, gardening, camping, working on the car, woodwork you name it! Perfect timepiece.

So having bought my perfect watch I wanted to experiment with straps. The included titanium bracelet is very nice but I find bracelets slide about a bit so I wanted something just as light or lighter, that was still waterproof, had a bit of give in it and would grip the wrist better. But it needs to be soft and grip gently because I find that I have to wear my watch a little loose in order to not make my wrist ache. So this strap I got from Amazon is an Archer silicone rubber strap, which comes with quick release spring bars so it takes a couple of seconds to fit. It's nice and soft, extremely comfortable and it reduces the overall weight of the watch to just 46g, which is 20g lighter than with the titanium.

The watch is a Casio LCW-M100TSE-1AER, which is titanium/sapphire with radio sync and solar power in a 9.6mm thick case.

I love the 168W, it has the same module as the F-91W with a much better backlight and a great retro look. I have a NATO on my main F-91W, and while it was a pain to get on there, it’s much better than the resin band.

Also, the easiest way I found to remove the straps off a F-91W is with a little rubber mallet like this: SE JT6218 5-Piece Watch Band Link Pin Tool Set https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002Q8AJSM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_bkcQBb60EQRR8

Here's the one I got.

RECHERE Stainless Steel Bracelet... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B018A7ZMIO?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

This is how it looks.

It was very fiddly to get the spring bars through the end link, and I did use the thinner ones that came with it vs the thicker that come with the watch. I definitely love the look of it, and I think the fit is pretty damn good for 3rd party bracelet.

I’m sure many standard Casio models do, and I know for a fact that most of the G-SHOCK models do this. The model I have, for example, let’s me have a countdown timer, and on top of that, have it repeat as soon as it’s finished. I use it when working out for 1 minute of intense reps and 1 minute reps back to back for as long as I can.

So yes many do, if you look in the Amazon descriptions or where ever you buy them it should list it as a feature, as “Countdown Timer,” separate from the “Chronograph” or “Alarm” modes.

This is the standard square G-SHOCK, and will last you forever and has the feature you requested.

This is a slightly less expensive but still good (and sturdy, most any Casio is nigh indestructible) “Casio Royale” as it’s been nicknamed, and seems to be listed with the countdown function.

Or if those don’t suit your tastes, any model with the “Countdown Timer” listed should fulfill your needs.

Thanks! I’m glad so many people are enjoying what I made!

  1. I got the strap on Amazon here . I purchased the 24mm, took the metal cylinder inserts out of the strap, and trimmed the corners so it would look more flush with the outside of the watch case. If you look closely, you can see where I cut a little too much on the right side, and there’s a small gap. If I were to do this again, I’d measure better, and make less of a gap.

  2. It’s got an orange hue, but everything is still clearly visible when the light is on. I don’t even think I tested the light before putting in the green transparency, so I really don’t know if it’s any different from how I bought it.

There are smaller Casio, but you need to look deep to find them.

I find the Casio Sapphire to be a good affordable quartz dress watch which is a good 40 mm dia , 46 mm lug to lug.

I have the AQ-S810W-1A3VCF , it is Solar powered, kind of similar to the one you posted, there are different colors available besides the gold. It has full World Time digital watch functions, but it's a small digital screen (more Analogue than digital). It is very lightweight and not too expensive if it get's lost. It is 200m 100M water resist and seems sturdy. I think of it more as an analogue watch that happens to have World Time, 5-alrms, calender, countdown timer and stopwatch. And the solar battery will last a long time.

You might also look at the low-end analogue-digital G-shocks, like the G-100-9CM, which would definitely be the toughest for just a little more money (and would have better glass for the watch face ).

Not sure what the price would be in europe for these, though.

Edit: the first watch is 100M water resist not 200M.

MTD-1079D-1AVCF
https://www.amazon.com/Casio-MTD-1079D-1AVCF-Illuminator-Analog-Display/dp/B013TPJ8KU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1527350670&sr=8-1&keywords=MTD-1079D-1AVCF

Yeah, I think if you want a single watch that has the metal band and a good face, the MTD is the way to go (only 100m resistance) but it has the illuminator function (which is better than the lume on the Duro).

Amazon, but I just checked and it's not in stock anymore. I've seen them online when looking for better deals, and there's a similar one on Amazon for $10 with 5 different colors to choose from.

Edit: here's the link.

The band costs more than the watch! Here's the replacement band, for $19, but the watch is only $16 on your own link, and it's a new watch with a new battery. You could also try a Casio parts distributor, but at the $16 price point for a new watch, it's probably more cost effective just to replace the whole watch, band and all.

I have this watch and the time is a nice large font compared to other watches I have.
