I use 48"w x 18"d x 74"h wire shelving, 5 shelves, with 1/4" wood liner shelves. Each unit holds 25 short boxes, and they are easy to get on and off the shelves. I just added a second shelf unit tonight so I have a picture handy:
http://imgur.com/BTytifp
Edit: Here are the shelves I use:
I can't find a link to the wood I use for shelf liners, but it's fantastic - it's a reddish-stained smooth plywood which comes in a 4'x8' sheet for about $14 - it's sold as 1/4" but it's closer to 1/8". I cut it to 17" x 46.75" shelves, and then cut off about 1.25" inches off of each corner so that the liners sit right into each wire shelf. Short boxes slide in and out very easily.
While I'm at it, I highly recommend using business card holders and printable business cards to label your short boxes, it's really improved everything for me... recommended:
I also use a sharpie on the backs of old business cards to help organize whatever boxes I'm using for filing.
From back in the day - the 1990s. A friend at school showed me a copy of Infinity Gauntlet #4 that showcased Iron Man, Namor, Cyclops, Spiderman and so many others deaths. I was like "Wow they killed Spiderman?!" So that brought me into comics.
When I started collecting - my parents bought me this book for Christmas and I wanted to get a few of the books in the pages there just to say I owned them. The only ones I recall being able to afford were the Spiderman wedding annual and I think the 1st appearance black costume Amazing Spiderman.
Recently I got back into it after years of only collecting graphic novels. I basically view it as something I can leave my son when I pass on and getting the original issues of books I loved when I was a kid and getting first appearances of characters I love. That's why I'm into it again.
Great question!
I use Pro Art white artist tape. Takes all forms of writing. Acid free. Its completely overkill i'm sure, but archiving is fun to me and part of the joy in the hobby.

I just found this pressed into a book on a shelf. It's from last summer's Heroes Con in Charlotte, so YMMV, but it'll give you a general idea of prices, turnaround, shipping, etc. I got a FF 48 and a Strange Tales 89 (1st Fin Fang Foom) signed by Stan and had them slabbed at the con. The company that handles Stan's appearances is the same company that handles signature verification.
As an aside, I got my oversized copy of '75 Years of Marvel Comics' book signed by him as well and they offer a really cool "hologram verification sticker" that verifies it's an authentic Stan Lee signature. So there are options if you wanna get something OTHER than a book signed (Funko, statues, action figures, etc).
aww yes thank you but i believe their like sleeves for thin comic books mangas would be too thick and will leave a large opening from top...i think right ? i choose to go and get this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GHMN7MS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_2&smid=A1K9TKF1LJB7EA although they dont not protect against humidity and moister ill need to put them in a box store it somewhere cool and put silica gels inside that should do!
another question lol where can i find acid free box and silica gels :P
If you like that "Ghosts" comic, you might be interested in this book. My SO got it for me for Xmas, it's very cool with great background info on the comics and artists.
I was really surprised not only that they did a novel, but that Elliot S! Maggin wrote it...

IIRC it was a good read.
Here's another surprise comic book novel:

These things are awesome, easy to hang, look great, and best of all they're cheap as hell
I use washi tape. I've heard it's acid free and it's definitely easier on the bags. It all comes off easy if you need to open up the bag.
silver age and golden bags are the biggest but i would reccomend silvers as you dont want to give it to much space, just kind of press it to the board a little.

If you haven't already, once you fall in love with Miller's Batman, they made a really faithful cartoon of it a few years ago. There was a part 1 and part 2 as it's long, but get the deluxe and it's all in one. I love re-reading it and then re-watching this.

Invest in some Mylite2's Standard size and some Fullbacks for your more expensive books and half-backs for your less expensive issues.
In addition, I would get a couple short boxes (you can get them online or at an LCS. BCW, CGC, etc. many companies make them). Finally if you get some real expensive issues that you want to display, invest in some top loaders.
Everything I linked will fit modern and silver age books. I made the mistake of getting 'current' size top loaders and mylites and many of my books won't fit, so if you stick with what I linked you will be good.
Also if you decide to start collecting key issues (first appearances and such) and want to keep those separate, magazine files are great for that (I get mine from Target).
I've been into comics for a while but have just recently gotten into Spidey. I've really been enjoying the Ultimate run by Bendis. Here's volume 1 :) https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0785124926/ref=pd_aw_sim_14_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=W8EBMNDNK82Y08784EJ0&dpPl=1&dpID=51wxuvpEdyL
11x17 is a common sketchbook paper size I think. You can get boxes, binders, and portfolios in that specific size pretty cheap. If it's got a lot of sentimental value to you, you can get more expensive cases like this, https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000JCUYSM/?ie=UTF8&dpID=31Io82fwsVL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_SL500_SR100%2C100_
We’re still getting moved in, but I got the display shelves up and thought I’d share. The books on display will occasionally be changed out with other keys or favorite covers.
The shelves are Marietorp from Ikea. $6 each and holds 4 books (unslabbed).
Wrap for the folding table can be found on Amazon HERE
Assuming that wasn't /s Here are some good sources. I'm sure a google search will also give you some good stuff
