We need to separate free agents, such as Moon, who'd had a wildly successful career in the CFL, winning 5 straight Grey Cups, from Joe Shmoe the 7th round draft pick/unproven FA.

Foster's had a good career, no doubt. But I wouldn't classify him as borderline Hall of Famer, like I would Romo. Of course if he recovers from his back injury he may make a stronger case. And he definitely fits the bill. While that's only 2 FAs in the history of FAs, I'm sure there are others.

Doesn't weaken the point that any team expecting to rely on 7th round draft picks/unproven FAs to improve itself is doing a lousy job of personnel development. All that many 7th-rounders really does is let a team limit the draftee's ability to negotiate bottom-of-the-barrel contracts with other teams.

FYI a great illustration of how teams handle borderline players is in the great book Collision Low Crossers, a book I recommend to every NFL fan.

For sure, but for someone to be as good as he is at coaching the defense, I personally think he has to understand a lot about offense, that is just some random guy on the internets gut feeling though. Plus smart coaches/leaders tend to surround themselves with people smarter then them in things they lack depth in. Personally I would love someone with his intensity leading the whole team instead of the guy that invested in The Clapper

Jeff Pearlman discusses it in his book about the 90s Cowboys. It was all Jimmy Johnson's idea.

Everyone in the entire organization was against the idea of trading Herschel, but Jimmy sent out that he was on the market to all the other teams in the league, saying he would trade him for multiple draft picks.

The offer that the Vikings sent back was something like 3 draft picks, and 5 players. The trick was that each player had another draft value assigned to them. One player was worth a first, one was a second and third, etc. If the player wasn't on the Cowboys the next year, they would get the picks. The Vikings just assumed the Cowboys would keep the players, since they were all average players, but still better than anyone that was on the Cowboys roster to begin with. In the offseason Jimmy informed the Vikings GM at a NFL meeting that they would be cutting all the players in the trade, and laughed maniacally as the other GM realized what just happened.

I'm reading The Last Cowboy: A Life of Tom Landry right now and really enjoying it. I highly recommend it to anyone who, like me, missed out on the great Landry or who wants to see what happened behind the scenes during his time as a coach and player. Anyways, it also covers what happened with the team through its formation, development, and rise to prominence which happened in the 70's.

Man, I got that super thick case with the clear back to show of that Aura Blue. I would recommend it highly. Its only like $20, but it has a lot of protection.

You can always skin the back of it later. But enjoy that color.

pretty easy and relatively inexpensive to have made if you're fairly decent with photo editing software or know someone who is (I am). Just find an embroidery place near you, take the hat in, and give them the logo you want stitched. It's relatively simple. I'm figuring somewhere between 25 and 30 bucks.

WARNING. The logo below is trademarked and registered but you won't run into shit if you just have a few made for yourself and friends. But try to market them online or anywhere else you might find yourself in a world of trouble.

Amazon has plenty of sellers of fitted wool caps

Here's a link to an image of the logo that could be redone to fit your needs

If you need the logo in another format let me know. Takes me about 30 seconds

Oh and personally I'd go with a blue cap with a white logo but that's preference speaking for me.

A Dallas Cowboys Vs Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl would be one of the most epic Super Bowls of all time. For those of you that haven’t read it, Ten Gallon War by John Eisenberg is a fantastic read.

Sorry I don’t. I do know that I highly recommend this adapter because there are some games that only stream on mobile or data. Also it’s easier to hook this up for the less legal streams than to try and use the smart tv browsers in my experience.

This is awesome, nice job!

(This Dez sweater is still my all-time favorite)

That game is actually included in a DVD set I bought a few years ago called Cowboys vs. Redskins Rivalry series. There are 3 games on it (all Cowboys victories) and I bought another set with all Redskin victories (because I'm a glutton) called, appropriately, "Redskins vs. Cowboys." Bothered me that the great 1983 Monday comeback wasn't included in the Cowboy victory set (perhaps because of the Cosell "little monkey" comment - yes that was the game).

Anyway, the '99 opener was a great game and extremely disappointing season to follow. The previous 3 years were such a disappointment - this game did nothing but get my hopes up - only to come crashing down when the Playmaker ended up crumpled on the turf in Philly . . .

Tales From the Dallas Cowboys is great. It's Charlie Waters and Cliff Harris just sharing war stories.

To make your list easier to read, try putting an extra line between each title.
